Tottenham releases Adebayor, wishes him well

Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been released from his contract with Tottenham Hotspur by mutual agreement, the Premier League club announced on Sunday.
The 31-year-old’s departure was anticipated as he was not included in Tottenham’s 25-man Premier League squad for this season or given a squad number.

“We can confirm that we have reached a mutual agreement with Emmanuel Adebayor which will see him released from his contract with the club,” Spurs said in a statement on their website.
“We wish Emmanuel well for the future.”
Formerly of Metz, Monaco, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid, Adebayor joined Spurs, initially on loan, in 2011, before signing on a permanent basis in August 2012.
He finished as Spurs’ top scorer in 2011-12 with 18 goals, but was told to train with the club’s youth team by manager Andre Villas-Boas in 2013.
Tim Sherwood’s appointment as Villas-Boas’s successor led to a brief upturn in Adebayor’s fortunes, but he faded from view under Mauricio Pochettino last season, making only 10 appearances.
“I was very clear with him. We had a conversation before the end of last season and I explained my idea,” Pochettino said on Friday.
“I think it is clear he is not in my mind or in the plans for the future of Tottenham. It is not a problem for him or a problem for us.
“It was clear from the beginning, three or four months ago, and it was his decision whether to stay or not.
“We are always available to help him. We have a good relationship. The only problem now is to find a solution for him and a solution for the club, something that is good for both sides.”

Vanguard report.

Enemies of progress how market?Adebayor dont worry, you shall rise again.God bless!

  9. Hmm, with all the drama in his family of accusation & counter accusations of whinchy thinz . I pray all is well or will be well with him. He needs JESUS more than ever before. He needs deliverance thro Christ and Christ only. Ancestral strongman (spirit against progress) of his family is messing with his destiny to bring him to nought.

  12. Enemies kee? He is his own enemy our dearest SDK. You hear his coach say,he told him his plan months ago that Adebayo is not part of his plan but he didn't listen. Now where is going to play for the rest month when windows are closed? You see his listening to his pastor for advise did not pay him well. He need to stay away from sycophants who surround him daily. He want the rest of his pay check, club paid him and dish him out when clubs are no longer buying players that means he will stay home the rest 5months.

  17. This guy should have kept his family issues to himself. He was beginning to look like smone with slight mental issues. You know oyinbo ppl take such things seriously saying his mental health is not straight and it might affect his performance on the pitch. I knew things we'r not going well when they gave him time off that time. He shdnt have brout it to the media, just keep it private.
The best thing to do to family members is to cut them off, don't even fight them before they use jazz on them. Give them wide space, that even them they will be wondering what they did. Leave them like that for like 5yrs, answer their calls but keep ur distance. They will get the idea eventually, and when you ppl start talking again , they will respect you more.
That is what I am presently doing for sum family members, I answer their calls,go for dere events but don't stay long there. But dere house I never reach for like 1yr. They have a feeling they may have offended me, but I keep numb and live my life. They don dey respect me now.
