Sir Alex Ferguson Reveals He Only Had Four World Class Players At Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson believes he worked with just four world class players in his time as Manchester  United manager.
The Scot, whose new book Leading was published yesterday, guided the club to 13 Premier League and two Champions League titles during his 26 years at Old Trafford.

However for all those successful teams, Ferguson claims Cristiano Ronaldo, Eric Cantona, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes were the standout stars.
"They made the difference and the evidence is there," he told the BBC's Football Focus.
While the legendary boss brought in Ronaldo and Cantona, Giggs and Scholes rose through the club's academy and he believes no one can match what they achieved in the Premier League.

"The younger breed like Ryan and Scholes were just fantastic players and the thing about those two was longevity.
"Are there players who have played right through the whole of the Premier League and performed at the level they have? There are none, absolutely none.
"Of course Ronaldo was just a complete genius of a player."

Omissions from the list include ex-skippers Roy Keane and Rio Ferdinand, along with David Beckham, Peter Schmeichel and Wayne Rooney.
And while Ferguson admits he worked with other "great players" - he believes the quartet mentioned have the edge.
"These players elevated themselves above that," he said.

Ferguson also stated French  icon Cantonawas "the catalyst" for Manchester United's success after arriving from Leeds in 1992.
"When we brought him in we won the league that season - it was his mere presence and his ability to make and score goals," he added.

  5. Most United players are just average players in a big club... they like small fish in a big pond. Even the grandmaster knows that himself. The players are just being over-hyped, even Rooney is just an average over-hyped player

    1. Even Sir Alex Ferguson is also an average coach!!!!! I seriously don't understand why they worship him like that at United. He should have done real better than that. How could he had spent about 3 decades in United and only won just two UEFA Champions League, one club World Cup, about eleven league trophies, four or five FA cups....... He's simply an average coach compared to the likes of Jose Mourinho who wins at least one title every year or Pep Guardiola, etc.
Sir Alex Ferguson only enjoyed English influence in his career.
      GOD BLESS NIGERIA.

  11. No. They are not low class players. That wasn't what he was implying. He only mentioned those that did exceptionally well.
I expected Ruud Van Nistelrooy, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney on his list though but CR7 is the real deal and I won't forget Paul Scholes hot shots too. There are just great players in United. My team 4 life. Sir Alex is loved here.

    1. U sure say u sabi football so? Highest goal scorer does not necessarily make u world class. I love Cole and Yorke but they cannot be mentioned in the same sentence as those 4 guys or Messi or Pirlo or even common Thiery Henry sef. Everything na racism?
