SIASIA SUBMITS NOMINATION FORM, VOWS TO TRANSFORM BAYELSA

The 35-year-old governorship aspirant in Bayelsa state, Moses Siasia has submitted his nomination form as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Movement, PDM, with a pledge to liberate the state from the shackles of oppression, debt and ineptitude leadership.

The Chairman of Mosilo Group, said his candidature is a movement driven by the people of the state who seek genuine change. He promised to create thousands of jobs for the teeming youths in the state and also make education attractive.

Siasia stated this in Abuja after submitting his Expression of Interest and Nomination Form to the leadership of the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) and was received by the party’s National Secretary Dr. Ifeanyi Igwe.
Siasia reiterated his unwavering commitment to pursue the implementation of policies that would create the enabling environment for employment generation, wealth creation, as well as giving impetus to education, health care delivery, urban renewal, agriculture and industrial development.

“In furtherance of substantiating and advancing my commitment to run for the Governorship Seat of Bayelsa State in December 5th 2015, I have finally submitted my Expression of Interest/Nomination Formtoday the 23rd of September 2015 to the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) National Secretariat in Abuja. I reiterate my promise to create jobs for our teaming youths and make education attractive for our people, thus inspiring hope and showcasing care for our elderly,” he said.

Siasia, who argued that he is running on record of a successful businessman, pledged to transform Bayelsa into the economic hub of the South-South Region and by extension, Nigeria.

“I am running on record without blemish. Seventeen years ago, I was on the street of Port Harcourt hawking oranges, selling Ice Blocks but at that time I told myself that I wasn’t going to be subservient to my situation. I am going to work hard because I believe that there is a deposit of potentials in me.

I washed rugs, planted flowers and today the story is different. From that humble background, I have built a business of a group of companies, Mosilo Groups. We have interest in various sectors. I have employed many persons, mostly youths. I have given scholarship and train many people in the country and beyond even my community without taking a kobo from government,” he added.

He regretted that with the resources available, Bayelsa remains one of the poorest states with government as the major employer of labour.

“In the real sense Bayelsa state is less than one million people in population and we have received trillions of naira from 1999 till date but there is no concrete development to show for it. Everybody sees government as the only employer of labour in Bayelsa. Now you need a leader that can think outside the box. A leader that is innovative and creative to bring about sustainable development and investments required in Bayelsa state.

I have eight children from my community studying abroad and since 2013 have been providing educational materials for the Primary and Secondary school, on my mill. So, let all those who have ruled Bayelsa come out and tell what they were able to achieve for their people before they got to that position”.
