Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has joined Zlatan Ibrahimović in tenth place in the list of European Cup all-time scorers while Cristiano Ronaldo is the first to reach 80 goals.
Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema has joined Zlatan Ibrahimović in tenth place in the list of all-time European Cup scorers.
Benzema has now registered 43 UEFA Champions League goals following his effort against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday, the same as Ibrahimović, who is the only player to have scored for six different clubs in the competition.
Benzema’s strikes, meanwhile, have all come for Olympique Lyonnais and Real Madrid. He is now a goal ahead of Alessandro Del Piero, who only ever represented Juventus in Europe.
Cristiano Ronaldo converted two penalties in the second half and added a third to reach 80 and move ahead of Lionel Messi at the top of the table, at least until Barcelona visit Roma on Wednesday.

ReplyDeleteRonaldo & Messi don spoil futbol too much. Their phenomenal strike rates is embarrassing for others to emulate. Before, scoring 15-20 goals a season makes u a good striker anywhere in the world, even in Calabar sef. Today, with that margin, fans look at u with contempt. Both players are a class apart from their colleagues sha. All the reason why futbol is kinda boring these days. Cos these two monopolise all the glory associated with the sport. In years back, there're arrays of stars who compete & divide opinions amongst fans & neutrals. But today...just two! Hmmmn! Getting tired of their shits sef!!!
