Niger State Governor Under Fire For Travelling To Watch Chelsea Vs Arsenal Game

Barely a month after the Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello, warned sports officials in the country not to use his name to organise any competition, reactions have continued to trail his visit to the United Kingdom to watch the match between Chelsea and Arsenal football clubs in the English Premiership League last Saturday.

When New Telegraph spoke to citizens of the state yesterday, majority of them described the governor’s visit to Stamford Bridge as frivolous, considering the challenges currently facing the state.

It will be recalled that Governor Bello, in August this year, warned the people when board members of the Nigeria Chess Federation and the state hockey team that won the national super league visited him at the Government House that no sports officials in the country should use his name to organise any competition.

A trader, Ibrahim Musa said: “Things are hard for us in Niger State while our governor is travelling to watch matches.
I heard they said he was on invitation, but is it not government resources that he used for the trip? “We did not vote him in to watch football, we voted him because we want him to work and bring back the lost glory of the state. Watching match is not governance.

”The state-owned football team, Niger Tornadoes, has just gained promotion to the elite Nigeria Premier League which the governor is not watching, but could waste state funds to watch football abroad..........”

    3. Seriously, only wen u live in this state then u will understand the people's pain, so if they are angry that the governor is going to watch match they have the right to, in Niger state there is no company at all just ministries, and the jobs here are only for the indigine of the state, they prefer to employ a nigerlite with school leaving certificate than a non nigerlite with masters degree, thou that's nt my business, but niger state has the largest land mass in nigeria, but the government can't even make use of the opportunity the state has.

    7. I live in Niger state and it's disturbing that the governor of the state would travel just to watch football. Suleja in Niger state is in an appalling state, the potholes on the roads are numerous, water isn't stable even though it is being rationed. Major roads into Suleja are terrible, when some individuals or churches decide to fix roads leading to their various homes or churches, the stupid Emir and his council refuse. But they can allow their touts parade the roads and collect stipends from drivers making a living.
Niger State should be a different state being that it used to be the former Abuja....there are some ways of generating revenue from the state (Zuma rock, Gurara waterfall) instead they prefer to rely on the hardworking non-indigenes.
Whatever your name is, kindly rise up to the plenty work awaiting you. Muazu Babangida didn't do anything on the PDP platform, kindly show us that you truly represent change.

By the way....make i do small amebo! From the stables of Niger state...

My people,so after election them elect new office holders, amongst them is the deputy Governor.
Niger state capital no to get better road, there is this particular area that students live and the road is so horrible from year to year them no gree repair am. The deputy Governor stays in that same area (it's a larger landmass ).
As them elect ama..he decided to reconstruct the road... which is a GOOD THING BUT THE UNFAIR PART IS.... the repairing of the road starts from his gate and ends at the junction that has tarred road..
He didn't bother about other parts.

    2. Aaaah these anonymous chics, you all sound bitter and hurt. How do you know so much about his private life? He didn't like any of you? Why the anger? How does what he does with his own penis and body now become your problems? Have you taken care of yourselves and your issues in your own families and homes? Yet you say others are pretending or are hypocrites. Is it your penis? Is it your vagina? This is pure bad belle. The man didn't use state funds to go watch a match. Was he poor before now? Is this the first time he is doing this? Always get your facts right. But I can see that you girls are just the ones who can only hate from outside and dream about what can never be! Try and make an honest living, pussy don't always sell that well, so when these men reject you, you don't come to the public and make fools of yourselves.
