Lionel Messi Becomes Youngest Champions League Centurion

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi stepped out on to the pitch against Roma on Wednesday to make his 100th appearance in the elite European competition. Lionel Messi has started Barcelona's clash with Roma on Wednesday to become the youngest-ever footballer to play 100 Champions League games.

The Argentine joins an illustrious list of names - 33, in all - who have hit triple digits in terms of Champions League appearances, including qualification matches.

Luis Enrique selected Messi in his line-up for their first Champions League game of the season, with the 28-year-old forward having scored the winner on Saturday when the reigning Spanish champions saw off Atletico Madrid 2-1 in La Liga.

Messi's Real Madrid adversary Cristiano Ronaldo, 30, has featured in 120 games to date (including qualifiers) having debuted in the competition two years earlier than the Argentine ace.

  6. Stella, are u jealous? Arsenal does not have a quality player like Leo Messi. He is the best player in the world. He has achieved a lot at 28,he is ready to clinch his 5th world best player award. He is a record breaker and history maker.I was not happy that he did not score to celebrate his 100 appearance in the Champions League. What gave me joy was that Fc Bayern won.Congrats to Pep Guardiola my love and congrats to Fc Bayern Munchen #MiaSanMia.

    1. It's only those that know little or nothing about football that argue this way. How many clubs did Maldini, Gatuso, John Terry, Giggs....... Etc played?
Yes he plays in the Spanish La Liga and dominates with arch rival like Ronaldo but his dominance doesn't still end there because he comes over to the UEFA Champions League and still proves his worth. Messi is the first play to score most goals in UEFA Champions League for four consecutive seasons.
If your child attended a university primary school, secondary school, and finally graduates from the same university, does his masters and doctorate degree in the same school, would you regard him as less intelligent or uneducated? MESSI IS ALL TIME BEST..... make una leave this mumu argument.
      GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
