Is Donating Sperm To A Sperm Bank A Sin?

I am just wondering if giving ones sperm up either in exchange for money or free is a sin in the eyes of God or in the eyes of Man.

...Just wondering!

    3. I don't think it's a fun either but for different reasons. With this your reasoning, your oyibo follow-follow no get part two. How can you say it's not a sin because they do it and they're ahead of us? Well, they're also ahead of us when it comes to suicides etc; is that also ok then? Please try to have a mind of your own, abeg

  15. I don't know if it's a sin but this is how I see it :

All those spermatozoa that end up flushed down the toilet (in a condom) or wiped away with tissue paper (after masturbation) could be donated to those who really need it.

  17. I don't think it's a sin. U re Jst helping humanity. It becomes a problem when guys turn into a livelihood nd I tink ppl shouldn't do it cos of iphone 6 do it cos u want to help a childless couple

  18. Well maybe it is in exchange 4 money but if it's 4 humanitarian service then I see nothing wrong. U could be saving a family at the verge of shattering.

If only I wasn't an African, I would have offered my organs for free when my clock stops ticking to help save a life. What's the need going 6ft lower with all those when someone needs it to live....If only

  19. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Romans 6:13 NLT

Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground." Gen. 1:28

PROCREATION IS A GODLY ACT IF IT IS WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF MARRIAGE. IF SOMEONE HELPS A MARRIED CHILDLESS COUPLE WITH HIS SPERM, IT IS NOT A SIN IN GOD'S SIGHT AS IS EVIDENT IN THE ABOVE OT & NT SCRIPTURES. WHERE SIN COMES IN IS WHEN A MAN HAS EXCESSIVE LOVE FOR MONEY (Heb. 13:5) AND MAKES SPERM DONATION A BUSINESS; ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT GOD JUDGES THE INTENTS OF THE HEART (Heb. 4:12). Note too that if a man gives his sperm to fornication (e.g. helping an incapable friend to sleep with his wife or just spraying sperms around with girls that "open legs"etc.) or to a medium, he has violated the first scripture we quoted in Romans above and will be judged by God.

    1. @longest id, I don't think u know what u are getting into by praying for a Prophet as husband, are u really sure u are ready for what comes with it, I doubt it tho cos what Anon has written is nothing compared to the long sermon your prophet husband will be writing or reading and who knows mummy G.O may be called upon too when daddy G.O is absent.

  20. Nah'it is not a sin .

    ReplyDelete
  21. Well, there are loads of risk to it.
You do not know who your child is, what's happening to him or her, if he or she is marrying his or her relative without knowing.
You face the risk of not knowing how many children you have and with who..
I am sure God's command of 'be fruitful and multiply' does not apply to donating sprem.
Apart from financial gains, is there any point of sperm donorship?
Not something I would do though.

    Oya o!
Dunno if it's a sin but if you ask me, I think it is humanitarian.
    Hehhhe

  23. How can it be a sin?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Which kind eye od man...
Well in the eyes of God...i think it is ooo cos that would mean u trying to help God 2 achieve conception for others. And see qhat happened to Abraham when he decided to help God by marrying a younger woman cos he felt his wife was too old to birth a child.
    I honestly dont know.
In the eyes of man...the risk of siblings getting married ia too high to ignore except in situations where d family being donated to ia known to u and they will ensure ur kids dont hookup or tell them u guys are cousins

  25. Ion think its a sin...since it prevents some marriages from goin down...I rather donate sperm than WANK....

  26. who me go ask cos sperm was not written in Bible and this scenario was not recorded in the bible

  27. Depends on what they wanted to do with the sperm donated....if the recipient want to use it for body treatment no harm. Like those child play those days...if you have pimples in your face, get a sperm and apply.

But if it is meant for fertilization of overy for pregnancy...haaaa science people, I will say na no fear God.

You wanna confuse the whole world, atlast, a daughter will ended up having sex with her biological father (a donor) someday. Fear God faaa.

see:classes of people you cannot marry

    ReplyDelete
  28. Yes it is. It devalue the human person and removes the sacredness of life. It is man trying to play God and creating another human being. Now a child can be manufactured and brought into the world without a true family. That child is brought into the world without the real father. The woman does not know who the father is and things genetically and spiritually passed from father to the child may become something she may not bargain for. Such children may turn out with defect in behavior. Lastly, the process of getting the sperm out is a sin - masturbation. The sperm is meant to be given out during intercourse into the woman's receptacle from which it is meant to fertilize her eggs and develop into a living being. The sperm carries the man's DNA and other spiritual things about him and this can be spiritually used against him diabolically. The Bible records that God killed a man for spilling his semen during sex because he does not want to get the woman pregnant, if God can frown on such, how much more selling ones sperm.

  29. Given the number of years sperm donors have been donating to sperm banks, I wonder how many sibling, father/ daughter, cousin, etc relationships or marriages there are. Where the couple in question have no idea they are related. Creepy!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Toh over to you house, I can't judge ooooo cos I don't know if it is right or wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  31. There's no specific reference to this in the bible and I really don't see anything wrong with it. But then what if siblings marry each other unknowingly as a result of the same sperm being donated to different people? Isn't it a sin? This one pass me biko.

  33. In the eyes of God.. I do not know.. but In the eyes of man.. it shldnt be.. we ve just got too much judgemental do gooders who analyse n over analyse whats not and make bigdeals outta nuin. . Men practice the withdrawal method all d time, they masturbate too.. sperm dey waste... why nt giv it out to those dt need it.. they do giveaways here all the time.. things u av too much of or things u aint using.. to me donating sperm and donating blood is the same abeg.. to each his own.

    1. Lol. I can only imagine men lined up near Ojuelegba to make their own contributions. By the way, this is a really profitable business for a smart genius because a lot of people these days would prefer unadulterated African Spermatozoa which has great qualities such as: intelligence, height, pride, integrity.. shall I proceed? Not to talk of Pure. Pull out your cups and let's all donate.

  40. Plz I need a sperm donor for free

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well the Bible wasn't specific on certain issues especially about donating sperm. But the question is, how will the sperm be collected, will it be through Masturbation or something else? The Bible is certainly against masturbation

    ReplyDelete
  42. No idea biko. When in doubt, keep away from the source of doubt.

    ReplyDelete
  43. There is no clear answer on this. A sin is a moral failing, if you feel that being a sperm donor is morally wrong then do not proceed. If you are already having pre-marital sex then this question is dumb.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't know, but my worry is that, if these children from the same sperm donor find themselves in a relationship, or possibly get married and start a family, is it not incest? #just asking#
