Celebrity Husbands Who Took Their Wives' Last Name

Did you know Jay Z took his famous wife's name when they got married?
No, Beyoncé's last name isn't Z! But Jay's legal name for real changed to reflect his marriage!

And Hova isn't alone! A few other celebrity hubbies have adopted the trend as well! Including a few who may surprise you!

Jack White hasn't always been a WHITE Stripe. When he married former band mate Meg White he took her name. Before that he was John Gillis.

-Carlos Peña said forget the hyphen! He and wife Alexa Vega compromised on a shared surname of Penavega.

Jay Mohr married Nikki Coxin 2006, he took the name Jon Cox Mohr. So Jay is an initial. Like Will Smith in Men In Black

Yoko Ono may or may not have broken upThe Beatles, but she did brand her man. After marriage, he legally became John Ono Lennon.

Always the Renegade,Lorenzo Lamas bucked tradition and took wife Shawna Craig's name to become Lorenzo Lamas-Craig.

-Perez Hiilton.

I have seen couples here marry and the man gets to take on his wifes name but i can never understand the logic behind that because a man is supposed to give a woman his name and not take hers!

Are you an african man reading this right now?would you for any reason whatsoever, either temporarily or forever agree to take your wife's name?

    3. If u feel ur family name doesn't bring in good fortune, instead of deliverance, either do a change of name or adopt that of ur wife (some generational curses cld be hiding in one's family name)
You even forgot to add that the Queen's husband also took on his wife's name - Winsor (or so)

  43. ABEG WHO CARES. African menn my yansh. Thats the kinda nonsense our men are proud of. Name. Surname. Dead ancestors name. Great great grandfathers name. Some of those names give glory to dead gods and spirits, blockingg destinies. Thats why africa is not progressing, cos in 21st century we are still holding on to dead cultures. Answer whatever name you want abeg, just live a purposeful life. Invent something, love your wives. Live a life with meaning. Who cares whatever name you answer. In the bible their last names were cities they come from. Jesus of Nazareth, Mary of Magdala, Matthew tax collector. Jesus even changed some peoples names cos their family names were hindering their destiny. Simon changed to Peter, Abram changed to Abraham, Jacob too.

So better change your name if its better for you. If you are afraid of your dead ancestors being unhappy, i gat news for you. They don't matter, they are in the afterworld.

  45. http://thejuixreviews.blogspot.com.ng Na just name joor, it doesn't make the man smaller in any way. Moreover, who started off the tradition of a woman taking on her husband's name? Cause I don't see that in the Bible. We Africans take everything to the extreme and male dominance seems to be the other of the day. We need to get past ourselves! That being said, i'll take on my husband's name not the other way round, but if he wants to honor me by taking mine, it has to be my first name, not my fathers name.
