Akpabio Disowns Twitter, Facebook Accounts

The Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, has disowned twitter and Facebook accounts opened on his behalf, advising those who are doing so to desist from such.

He said he did not authorise or cause to be opened any Facebook or twitter account on his behalf.

He also charged Nigerians, particularly the political class, to desist from politicising disasters and tragedies, but should work towards the unity and progress of the country without any political or ethnic coloration.

Akpabio, who stated this in a statement he personally signed, thanked God for his survival and said he remained grateful to Nigerians for their prayers and display of concern.

The former governor specifically thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice-President  Yemi Osibajo, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Dogara, his successor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, his colleagues in the National Assembly and former president Goodluck Jonathan for their concern and expression of love when the accident occurred.

He also expressed the appreciation of his family members to traditional and religious leaders, who have been calling on a daily basis to inquire about his well being.

*This statement and the one he is disowning are exactly the same nau!

  1. This man sounds unintelligent.
How did they get the picture of him on a sick bed?
Seems the tweet has backfired on him and he quickly wants to quench it.

Hello Sir, it was before that they say Nigerians have a short memory. It is no longer so. Thanks to the internet.
So think before tweeting and posting on facebook.

  14. his statement is totally off the point, how did he deviate from the main issue, telling politician to desist from tragedy and work towards unity instead of telling politicians to obey the rules and regulations to avoid what happened to him. this accident occurred when his driver attempted to beat the traffic light. i do not feel sorry for him at all. you sustained some minor injuries, and the next thing you are being flown abroad for treatment after spending millions to build a state of the art hospital in your state. Hypocrites.
