Babcock university has increased its school fees one week to resumption. Law students are now pay up to N1.5 million while medical students will pay N3million. ......
The other courses are paying as high as 900k for a session.
To get good Education now in Nigeria is so expensive now that it is better imagined!.
Nawaoo! Education strictly for the rich. God will help us.
ReplyDeleteIs not by force 2 school there!
DeleteIf you can't afford it, then try government schools!
Come to think of it, after spending all this money n at the end of the day they don't get 2 see a meaningful job.......wat will happen?
They better collect all the money they will spend while in school and use it to set up a business jare!
Mtcheew.
Okokobioko! Well I hope they all get jobs that will reflect or help em recoup what they spent on fees within the first 5 years of graduation.
Delete5 years in University and I didnt spend upto 150k on fees. Another truth is that my Feniversity degree got more class, more superior.

Exactly @portable v. Is not by force. Try govt universities. But i've always had this mindset that it's only kids with low IQ that go to private universities, cos they can't get into the govt schools.

DeleteHey stranger.. I hear you! I can see that in your strange grammar.."more superior".. Kikikikikikikiki
DeleteNawa o
DeleteSo it is now more expensive to school in babcock than to school abroad.... Nigeria my country!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLmao
DeleteYou mean they go to dining hall like I did in secondary school???
This is serious
I'm rolling on the floor
Wait lemme look up to see if you have school uniforms
Hahahahahahaha
I'm tired of laughing
Okay... Back to the issue
They shouldn't be complaining
It's a private school, these school takes care of everything themselves without help from federal government
If your parents can't afford it, you wouldn't be kept there.. I'm sure the increase wasn't so much.. Law students paid about 1m before I guess
I dont understand why pay so much 4 a sch thats not recognized globally as an institution or in a particular course when i can get a recognised degree in the uk from a good and globally highly ranked school for less...
DeleteThis is given greater than the total money I spent in my entire years in school.it is sad bt I'm sure the students dnt hv a choice
ReplyDeleteThey don't have a choice, they've got loads of choices. I don't think anyone should complain about their fees. Those that can afford it should go ahead. Those that can't should opt for the cheaper options. There are secondary schools that charge higher than that.
DeleteQuality education is worth every price you pay for it. If anyone thinks education is expensive, they should try ignorance.
By the way I went to a public university and my tuition for the 4 years wasn't up to 80k. I turned out okay and got a job to boot........lol
DAWN
Na waaa.
ReplyDeleteThat's beyond the reach of most parents.
I beg
ReplyDeleteMake I dey sell spare parts for Ladipo
Na dem Sabi!! My year one to final year plus project plus textbook I no spend reach 500k sef and I get better job..cut ur coat according for d available material...now some parents in government will increase der stealing ability
ReplyDeleteUr own na 500k, I no sure say I spend up to 300k. First yr to final yr oh. Final Ur sef na 18k we pay.
DeleteNo wonder Eka Joy.. I see your level of education.. Kikikikikikikiki
DeleteThunder fire your private if you curse me
Hahaha 3million naira 4medicine wow!!!. Would they be given automatic house job after sch or better still a free pass to residency without part one? Hahahaha this ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteAnyways for u to decide u want to send ur kids to a private uni,u mustav thought bout d cost.
Although asides not getting admission,i wonder y parents take their kids to private uni,it is not and can never be compared to most state owned and federal universities in terms of academic performance.
Back then in uni we paid 100k and despite it being fair, most of our parents still complained dt despite it being medicine,it was effing expensive; o dear...what would dey say bout 3million hahaha
Imagine when you have like 3 kids in that school!
DeleteThese parent know what they signed up for before taking there kids there...
DeleteSo why are they complaining?? And the fees didn't go from 100k to 1m. I'm sure it was a lot before
I prefer govt and state universities to all these glorified sec schools.
DeleteJst Negodu, well gud for all those students dat will nt go and read and pass aptitude test for federal uni. All my children na federal uni whether u lik it or nt. Funny enough all dis b private uni dnt teach anything
ReplyDeleteYour English has shown us how you easily passed.
Delete.... And its not that the school will provide Jobs for them after graduating o
ReplyDeleteI just hope the students will get automatic employment in a reputable company after graduation. Paying such huge amount and still be running around trying to get a good job after graduation is horrible.
ReplyDeleteGbam! Well said Cynthia...
DeleteSome employers acquire the school's Honor List n pick from there
DeleteThese are privileged kids and would most probably move abroad after their first degrees.. Trust me, they get jobs!..
DeleteThis is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteMy school fees here raised to power 100;000.. Wtf. My
ReplyDeleteWow, education is soooo expensive in Nigeria, Note to self, i need to make more money so my children wont suffer.
ReplyDeleteThis money sef don pay school fees for abroad
ReplyDeleteHuh? #1.5m for law per session? I didn't even spend half of that on my entire 5yrs sch fees to get my law degree in my GREAT UNIBEN!
ReplyDeletePls is thr a standby job for them after graduation? Shey they'll still hustle with other graduates? Plus most multi nationals even prefer foreign cert or federal uni graduates to some of these mushroom private universities....Wasted fund..
Yes ooo. #teamuniben
DeleteAluta continua
Wasted fund indeed.mstchew
DeleteThe 4ny thing is that they will get to Law school n finish with Pass.
DeleteIt is ridiculous
Yesso.
DeleteGreat Uniben!
Na dem sabi. Why waste money in a private Uni while u can just use same amount or even less to give ur kids better education in Abroad?
ReplyDeleteYou can't use less abroad... .
DeleteThank you . this pple saying u use less abroad maybe their abroad is contonou or Philippians or some non English speaking developed country. U can't use dis in UK at all dunno of us o
DeleteSame with DELSU, Abraka. Postgraduate fees have been increased from 63k to over 175k... too bad...
ReplyDeleteWhile uniabj postgraduate(masters) is 141k from 69k.
DeleteLemme be sure first.. Is this fee suppose to be per session or for the whole duration of the course?
ReplyDeleteEven if the parents decide to change sch for their children it'll amount to wasted yrs + wasted fund! This is really sad oh. Chai!
After paying all these and graduate, to get work now, employee will be telling you to take N50,000 or N30,000 self.
ReplyDeleteIt is well.
We have Public Unis too. If you cant afford this,go to Uniport,Unilag,Unijos,Osusatech, etc.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it,some Sec Sch in Ph pay up to 1m+ term, then 1m into three gives 3m abi?.
Irene B, abegi shut up. You are always forming what you are not.
DeleteAnon efulefu. I can give you d names of three of such schools now,but unfortunately, they wont allow you cross the gate.
DeleteThank you.
Private University isn't a must. If you can afford it, go for it, if you can't try Adironke Abidemi University
DeleteNa dem sabi
ReplyDeleteAs in eh.... I tire
DeleteAre they teaching their Engineering students how to make an aircrafts from the scratch or how to produce iphone 20 to beat oyibos?
ReplyDeleteWell its a matter of choice but FG should look into it somehow.
Lol.... My thought exactly, are the medical students going to find a cure for Hiv/AIDS?
DeleteSee how education has become so expensive in my country. Gaining admission into the federal and states owned institutions is as difficult as getting a good job in Nigeria hence, the need for both parents and students to look for alternatives. The admission processes are also rigorous. How can one pass JAMB, Post UME and still not be admitted, also the number of federal/state owned institutions cannot accommodate the numbers of students seeking admission into them yearly. The federal government should intervene as its getting out of hand.
ReplyDeleteMaka why? Are they going to develop two brains when they come out. The amount is senselessly expensive jare.

Thelma it haf do ooo...
Delete*faint*
E reach to repeat ur comment more than four times @Thelma. Imagine babcock that is owned by a mission what re they out to portray? We know its no charity org but the charge is too much for the ordinary tithe payer whoes yr to yr offerings is used to build the school. The fed govt should atleast regulate the fees of these glorified sec schools. What they re just trying to do is creat a class difference between the kids of the have n have nots.
DeleteAnd at d end of d day na d same job n pay allof us go get even we wey pay 35k 4 state school n 6k r less 4 federal...make dem dey mumu dey go! Plus dey r not even as respected as d state n federal ones even poly get level pass dem..
ReplyDeleteWhat was the amount you were paying before the increase?? I'm sure the additional money added wasn't so much
ReplyDeletePrivate universities will keep adding their fees because they get no help. They need to maintain standards with this funds...
The only reason my mom sent my brother to private university according to her was because he was stubborn and he will calm down there since they virtually don't have a life but I don't even see any calmness in him..
I keep telling him to pray he graduates with good grades and get a good job on time because my parents won't let him be as they will keep reminding him how much they spent on him...
Well theology was increased from 350k to 800k is that much or not ?
DeleteThis is outrageous!
ReplyDeleteWow see my course up there, History and international studies, and I thought I was paying a lot then. I remember those days my dad will give me money for 3meals but I will pay for 2 and keep d jara in my pocket. Their breakfast in Babcock no pass that small breakfast pack.
ReplyDeleteParents consider many things too like Cultism. No cultism in private universities abi?.
ReplyDeleteA lady withdrew her son from Unical n sent him to CU. He retook Jamb sef. I just pray they dont kick him out cos his head too dey hot.
Yet good Federal schools r better recognised in the laour market....wastage cuz if I hav dat much I wud b in University of California LA
ReplyDeleteWho told u federal schools are better recognised? I don't know whr dat mentality comes from... school na school jor. Federal or state...
Deletebut why didnt they tell the students before they applied, they posted a differnt 2015/2016 undergraduate tuitio thru out the admission time and 5days to resummation they are now out with new bill.
ReplyDeleteAnd after paying that school fees for 6years. Nigeriams will expect doctors to run a charity organisation.
ReplyDeleteI had a neighbour who studied in Babcock we were both dragging for a 40k teaching job in one of these new generational churches school. where they were asking us which church do you attend during the interview. kikikikikikiki. I bless God for not giving me that job me and my state university certificate. I got a good job and I bless God for my life
ReplyDeleteThey don't need to write Jamb again to enter University again with this amount then. Abi are they the ones that score less than 200 in Jamb and are bundled to such places. Why complain? Na una carry una legs reach that side. Government looting and stealing will intensify as the schools raise their own allowances. You guys had better secure your future jobs there oh. Don't come and be dragging portfolio with the Fed. Univ. graduates who seek for jobs around.
ReplyDeleteBefore asking why we went to private a private university . Ask yourself can everyone fit into the state or federal university system in Nigeria . The answer is simple no its not possible !!!, stop asking stupid questions and ask better ones . Since my 100level days plus acceptance fees plus everything amounted to about 800k , the usual way it goes is that the higher you go the lesser the fees . So now I am in 400level I have supposed to pay nothing above 750k to say the most . Firstly it was increased to 860k as the bill that came up in July of this year showed I have already paid that ,only for me on Monday to see it has been increased to about 1.1million naira .Dont ask me why I went to a private school because I have already answered that , ask yourself why the school management a week to resumption would increase the fees to something so outrageous mine is even the least increment I have seen so far . Some courses have about 100% increment , I don't feel bad for myself but for other people who are being sponsored or where even struggling to pay for the former bill and now the later is too much . Assuming this student is a 400level student where dropping-out is out of the question .In the student's shoes Would stay home crying or seek the help of the social media and people who can comprehend the issue to help you combat this issue .
ReplyDeletealmost as good as schooling abroad...some ukrainian unis are cheaper than this
ReplyDelete
