The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), has sacked Stephen Keshi as coach of the Super Eagles, after they found him guilty of applying for the Ivory Coast job.
A statement by the NFF Executive Committee on Saturday said this decision was made, “having thoroughly reviewed the reports/findings of the NFF
Disciplinary Committee and NFF Technical and Development Committee, as well as having reviewed the actions and inactions of Mr. Stephen Keshi, in the performance of his duties as Super Eagles’ Head Coach, which we found to lack the required commitment to achieve the Federation’s objectives as set out in the Coach’s employment contract.”
The statement went further: “To this end and pursuant to the provisions of Clause 4.3 of the Employment Contract between Mr. Stephen Keshi and the NFF (The Contract) and the various clauses therein, the Nigeria Football Federation has decided to exercise its option to summarily terminate the employment contract of Mr. Stephen Keshi with the Federation with immediate effect.”
It added that the termination was “without prejudice to the settlement of any existing and due financial obligations between the NFF and Mr. Keshi.”
Confirming the development, NFF vice-president, Barrister Seyi Akinwumi, said the decision was taken in the interest of Nigerian football and thanked Keshi for his services.
Akinwumi then added: “In the interim, the Super Eagles’ team affairs will be jointly managed by Assistant Coach, Salisu Yusuf and the Technical Directorate of the NFF headed by Coach Shuaibu Amodu, until the Federation names in due course a new Head Coach, who, along with the NFF will chart a new direction for the Super Eagles to ensure credible participation in international competitions and assist in building a sustainable football culture for the country.”
The Big Boss only signed a two-year deal to return as Nigeria coach in April 2015, after his initial deal ended after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

OMG...after all the drama and sign on,this is surely a disgraceful exit for Keshi.
What do you think blog visitors?
Uh oh!
ReplyDeleteFinally.
I guess every dog really has its day.
Hopefully, the one he applied for works.
If not, he should probably start a football academy. There,he can make demands all he wants.

Deletel am expecting our President to order the NFF to appoint one Mallam or Alhaji any moment from now.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha
DeleteDeranged FOOL!!
DeleteWhat if he does; what will you do about it? If una want play am like that, here goes... didnt GEJ put his people there too? If the president directs that an Hausa man be appointed, instead of accusing him of tribalism you should ask the important questions such as:
DeleteIs he competent?
What are his antecedents?
Stranger, you're a darling for that comment.
Deletel am expecting our President to order the NFF to appoint one Mallam or Alhaji any moment from now.
ReplyDeleteBloody Cunt!!!
DeleteThe drama surrounding him and the NFA politics was just too much and unbearable. The same Keshi that won the Afcon for Nigerians few years back and they took him to the moon and back. They should just let him be abeg, it is well
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I hope he gets the other job.
DeleteThis dude has always tried to avoid a disgraceful sack and now look where it got him.
DeleteWho won't want to look for a job by the side with the way his job has always been so insecure??
If they are planning to hire a foreign coach,i must say I am sorry for them!!
When we are looking at cutting cost, they are busy sacking our Able coach.
As a human being,Keshi probably suspected that after the last drama that saw GEJ calling him back, that a sack was imminent... I do not blame him for spreading his net. Most of us would have done same!
Sure its a disgraceful exit for him. When he saw the sign, he refuse to resign and save himself from this embrassment NNF put to his face.
ReplyDeleteI personally Don't See Any Disgraceful Exit, coaching Job dos not come with Guarantee, U can Be Fired @ Anytime. Gudmorni guys and Happy Sunday
ReplyDeletehe messed up full time
ReplyDelete#GODWIN™
He shld just move on jare!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure God has a beta plan for him...
d drama btw him and Ndi NFF is too much.
Mayb it's a sign frm God.
Not again!
ReplyDeleteAnyway,Keshi is downright shady so bye to him.
I will so flip if they give the job to one brainless man from the north.
NFF ain't Loyal! Sacking of coaches is what they know how to do best! This is probably the season for the mallams ...
ReplyDeleteWell, I think Keshi had it coming when as the current Nigerian coach he applied to coach ivory coast. NFF promised to investigate the Ivory Coast FA claims that Keshi applied to them. In the eyes of NFA keshi can't be trusted and isn't committed
ReplyDeleteHis jazz man will do it aain,nd he will b called bck.
ReplyDeletethis only happens to selfish people, you read and understood the terms and conditions of the contract yet you breached, can you serve two masters at the same time?to know he even denied it at first is disheartening, smh
ReplyDeleteLol@Nkem
DeleteBut I can decide to hide and write NNPC test while working in civil service or private company na.
And I actually think he applied to them during that his short sack before Gej got him back. Unfortunately, the list came out publicly. Lol
Iphie Dearie, what is wrong is wrong. That you can comfortably sin and break the law doesn't mean it is right. He did wrong and is being punished for it. No excuses.
DeleteWell,I am not surprised, though it is a shock. We will keep under developing our football and getting it wrong.
ReplyDeleteLife goes on!
ReplyDeleteOh mercy
ReplyDeleteFinally!!! D drama ws just too mush. Bigger u I pray Keshi; no mind NFF.
ReplyDeleteI am sooo dissapointed!
ReplyDeleteI didn't want it to come dis.Keshi too.
I just showed d General dis and he has no sympathy.
Keshi, let me tell u one saying:
A Person that is surrounded by Vultures, avoids Death!
U should have honourably resigned when dis Ivorien saga erupted....
dunno if ur hands are clean or not.
Buh per chance it is,dere is just so much a person can take. And.considering that u know d politics surrounding u and NFA and esp As Oga Jona has gone.and that deas People Want u OUT.
Oga Keshi,u should have left honourably.
U should have tendered ur resignation a month after dis ur new contract was renewed....yea u should have SHocked dem!
CHAI....
Good riddance to bad rubbish! Long overdue! However, better late than never...Ghanaman signing out!
ReplyDeleteSaid well. Riding on a fluke for so long.
DeleteAt least he has his own share of national cake.Nigeria a country that is no respecter of anybody ,na lie oh we still get the untouchables in Nigeria

ReplyDeleteNFF is ruled like a family business when they can`t control the manager ,it results to sack keshi wasn't ready to have his head bent to the level NFF wanted it, Which is good cos who so ever they cn control will not only fail to achieve anything ,the person also becomes indecisive in selecting players. We wish him well let's say who NFF employs.
ReplyDeleteHe deserved to be sacked, even after lying about CIV application he was still found guilty. Keshi is not what Super Eagles need at the moment our football team high spirit has drastically dwindled the past years. NFA should forget foreign coach as they can't afford it rather appoint our legends Okacha and Kanu who will command respect among young players both of them are rich and not hungry for the peanut NFA will pay them but will rather focus their energy in making a great team as they did as captains am sure both lads will do better job than Keshi. If they are not qualified as coaches send them out on short intensive coaching course is for our future benefit.
ReplyDeleteI think Sunday Oliseh should be called for an interview. The Guy is smart, knowledgeable and abreast with world football.
DeleteYes @lovelace i think 3 of them can work better together.
DeleteAmaju is crazy
ReplyDeleteHe wants someone he can control anytime
Keshi am so proud of you
For sure, another country will hire him soon
I just hope they don't end up regretting this decision though.
ReplyDeleteGood luck in your future endeavors Mr Keshi.
God bless you for your efforts so far.
Keshi should've left since.
