President Buhari To APC Leaders ''Let's Put Our House In Order To Avoid Disappointing Nigerians...

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

LET'S PUT OUR HOUSE IN ORDER TO AVOID DISAPPOINTING NIGERIANS - PRESIDENT BUHARI URGES APC LEADERS

President Muhammadu Buhari Friday in Abuja urged leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work hard to quickly resolve internal differences in the party and avoid disappointing Nigerians.

Addressing members of the National Executive Committee of the APC, President Buhari warned that having won the battle of the last general elections, the APC now runs the risk of losing the "war" for party unity and internal cohesion.

The President affirmed his belief in the supremacy of the APC's Change Pact with Nigerians over the personal ambitions of its members.

"As human beings, we are not perfect, but let us do our best to eventually win this 'war' so that we can get on with the urgent task of delivering on our electoral promises to the nation," he said.

Tracing the history of the APC from pre-merger talks to electoral victory, the President urged APC members to put their personal ambitions aside and resolve their current differences for the good of the party and the nation.

The APC Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun had earlier told the gathering that President Buhari opted to attend the NEC meeting at the APC Secretariat, rather than host the parley at the Banquet Hall of the State House because he wanted to raise the spirit of party members with his presence at the secretariat.

Chief Odigie-Oyegun added that the party had focused its change agenda around President Buhari's person during the campaign "because of his reputation and integrity."

"Your charisma and cult-like following facilitated what can be called  a landslide victory at the Presidential election," he told the President.

APC should tell us what the problem really is abeg.....I dont know why they are fighting and i really dont want to know as long as they dont try to use the media to rubbish each other .....They should remember those who voted them in and who are still silently albeit frustratedly waiting for change.
This is my two cents and i dont care what anybody thinks about how i think...Mscheeew!

  5. Stella the problem of APC at the moment is allowing PDP in their mist. The PDP in their mist don't understand good governance to the people and obeying party order but they have open their eyes to the truth and they have agree to do the right thing. I believe God will intervene because of we Nigerians so that this nation can rise again.

    1. That is what you get when you form a party based on an alliance with the devil and rely heavily on defectors from an opposing party. Do you know how many ex PDP lawmakers there are in APC? If they all switch back to PDP, then APC will collapse and Buhari will be impeached the next day.

Morale of the story? You can't build success based on treachery and blackmail.

  12. I think PMB should have a private meeting with Saraki to resolve the issue because the Saraki i saw on Tv today looked very angry, unhappy and dangerous. APC will continue to have problem in as much as people like Saraki,Tinubu and others are their party leaders because all of them have personal ambition the party is in for a rocky road. Tinubu accepting Saraki as No3 citizen is something he can't swallow fast but he's got no option at the moment all he need to do is re-strategise his next move as the smartest politician in Nigeria at the moment apart from OBJ but
then again after sakarki's issue comes another party member. The best PMB should do is to hold meeting between Tinubu and Saraki to resolve the issue but am sure he doesn't want such reason he said everyone with personal ambition should pocket it ( PMB was referring to Saraki) they need to be careful with the senator his a smart guy. I like the way he speak thou but corruption allegation against him is making mockery of the seat knowing how he destroyed a good bank and run Kwara as a private estate. Our leaders thou SMH ****Andy Shurman (Save the masses)****** love the lyrics.

  13. Stella, so you don't know what they are fighting for. OK. Let me educate you on this ongoing political "war"
They are fighting for their pockets. The different leaders in the party are fighting to have themselves or their their stooges in top positions in all aspects of governance. They want to be able to loot in order to recoup their investments ie the money they spend during the campaign. It is an atrocious battle. No one is shifting ground. They are yet to forgive Saraki for going against their instructions.
That's also the reason why Buhari is yet to appointment ministers. Everyone wants to impose his candidate on Buhari. He is being pulled in all directions.

  17. About time he told them this. They need to drop their grievances and move the hell on to doing the job that they signed to do. If they refuse to listen, baba should leave them and pick other willing Nigerians outside the party to work with. Yes, shebi it's democracy. Maybe by then their head will fall in place. Cos this distraction is unbecoming and no longer acceptable.
