PMAN President Mr. Pretty Okafor Wows Tenstrings Music Institution

In his determination to reach out to all the stakeholders in the entertainment business, the New PMAN President Mr. Pretty Okafor in the company of Baba Dee, Asha Gangali and host of some members of his Administrative team stormed the head office of Tenstrings Music Institution in Ikeja, Lagos. 

Mr pretty who was invited as a Guest Speaker on the topic “The New PMAN, Prospects and Membership Procedure” took time to educate the over 400 students of the music school on the benefit accrued to persons or group of persons who register to become full members of the Performing Musicians Employers Association Of Nigeria (PMAN); in the new PMAN membership identification scheme “Biometric ID Card”

In his speech the pman president reviewed to the students of Tenstrings Music Institute that PMAN is the only registered entertainment union by the federal government of Nigeria under the trade union act and as such, the umbrella body of all entertainment organisations with special focus on music related produce, i.e. songs, script writers, producers, film and video producers, record label companies including promoters of music, marketers, etc. the benefits also attached to the new identity card scheme are Health Insurance, Accident and Permanent disability Insurance, Life Insurance, Pension plans, barcoding and encoding  and distribution of all intellectual properties of the artists etc.

 The president explained that the concept in totality is not a new idea because some many western country are in it including south Africa and they have all mastered the art of protecting intellectual properties of artist and for this reason PMAN is working with renowned organisations like GS1, Blue pie Australia, Microsoft, NIBBS (CBN) and a host of other companies who offer services related to the protection and security of intellectual properties of artists.

Mr pretty reiterated how the project works, every work of arts by musicians, both Intellectual Property Protection, Globalization of the Music Market (Distribution), Communications, Membership Policy, Royalty Payment, Human Resources, Marketing, Advertising, Brands Involvement, song writer, producers are all accommodated under this scheme as all their works will be barcoding which gives such work security against piracy and unauthorized downloading. In conclusion Mr. President Promised that the authentication partners of PMAN, i.e. Airtel Nigeria the Telcom Company for the Scheme, Heritage Bank Plc, Union Bank Plc, Skye Bank and Unity bank , official Bankers of the scheme will be present to register them, besides everyone interested in the business of entertainment should gear up now, get registered in any of the Partner Banks to help PMAN help you.
