The compassionate governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has condoled with the family of the victims of the ghastly motor accident which occurred yesterday at Finotel Junction along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Awka.
According to an eye witness, a loose trailer fell on a car conveying the family of six killing four on the spot including their parents.
Saddened by the development, governor Obiano has undertaken to pay all medical bills to be incurred by the surviving duo who are receiving treatment at Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Amaku.
Expressing his condolence for the lives lost, Obiano assured Ndi Anambra that he would ensure safety of lives and regulated movement of heavy duty vehicle within the state.
Heavy duty trucks should stop moving about during the day. Or better still, use a very strong twine or chain to hold it together with the truck. RIP to the deceased.

ReplyDeleteEveryone should repent. No one knows when he will die. The parents never expected to die yesterday. Let everybody give his life to Christ. A stitch in time saves nine.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. No one knows when it will happen. This a clarion call for us to re dedicate our lives to Christ if we haven't done so already.
DeleteSad news. May they rest in perfect peace. I wish those in the hospital quick recovery.

ReplyDeleteEnough already!!! iv said it times without number that a ban should be placed on trailers from plying d road during d day, they should only b made to ply d roads @night. This has turned out to become an incessant occurence.
ReplyDeleteA bill should be passed to have both d employee and d employer sent to jail for every accident it's trailer causes habaaaa. Imagine a family lives wasted just like dat. May their soul rip
This is really pathetic. May the dead RIP and God grant the survivors good health
ReplyDeleteAhh Stella, I was teary eyed watching this last night on the news. Even the gov's wife could be seen crying. It's so so sad. Especially when they showed the kids that survived.. a baby was there. My God. And to imagine how they said their mother screamed "help help" before the trailer fell on them. It's too sorrowful and I can't imagine how these children will survive without their parents. They left home and thought they would return, the entire family was in the car. Father Lord we plead ur mercy against unseen evil that may be on our pathway. We plead ur blood mercy and ask that such evil will pass us over. May God rest their soul and bless the children left behind. I am sad.
ReplyDeleteAs for those tanker drivers, God will judge them.
Amen to ur prayer Sisi. May God grant them mercy.
DeleteIt's so unfortunate.

ReplyDeleteOMG.
ReplyDeleteThis is soooo sad
Oh God
This is just too sad. A strict law should be made for trailer and tanker drivers so they will be more cautious on the road and maintain their vehicles to prevent all this unnecessary accidents and deaths.

All this heavy duty vehicles becoming the latest agent of accident
ReplyDeleteThat was nice of him sha.....R.I.p to the dead
Tragic
ReplyDeleteIf not for the Civil Defence officials that were chasing the trailer, this unfortunate incident could have been avoided. Why should you even chase a heavy duty vehicle? U simply take the particulars and radio it round the country. These civil defence guys, are they even trained? This is so sad and nobody is saying anything about their culpability in this matter. Very annoying. The family should them. Idiots!
ReplyDeleteThese civil defence guys should be properly trained if not, be disarmed, cos my opinion is dat they're becoming power intoxicated. RIP to de dead
DeleteThis is tragic
ReplyDeleteSo so pathetic .. I feel greatly for the family.
ReplyDeleteYet another tanker fell at Imsu junction Owerri on Saturday, I don't know if there was any casualty.

ReplyDeleteWhat a tragic story. May God protect us from evil
ReplyDeleteThis is disheartening.
ReplyDeleteGod give the family the gratitude to bear the loss.
I trust Gov Obiano to impose sanctions immediately. These haulage trucks and their wild driving pattern and antics, the way they trample on potholes on the road, makes an easy fall for them.
Dang!
This is very sad. RIP to those who died. Chai
ReplyDeleteDo they send this trucks to come and finish Anambra people? There is God o. RIP to the dead and may God grant them eternal rest. To the children left behind, God of orphans will take care of you.
