SAGE National Exhibition And Awards 2015

SAGE an acronym for Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship is an international programme initiated at the California State University Chico USA. It is currently operating in all the continents of the world.
The SAGE mission is to help create the next generation of leaders whose innovations and social enterprises address the major unmet needs of our global community.




SAGE Nigeria is a member of National Council on Micro Small and Medium Enterprise and Financial Literacy Ambassador of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The 2015 SAGE National Awards is scheduled to hold 25-28 June, 2015 at Hotel Inter Connect, Gwarimpa Abuja.




At the SAGE Entrepreneurship Exhibition/Awards outstanding teenage entrepreneurs from across the country will showcase their innovative business and community service projects to a panel of influential judges who are civic and business leaders. This panel will determine which team is the most creative, innovative and impactful.





The first placed teams in the two categories (Social Enterprise Business (SEB) and Socially Responsible Business(SRB) ) will earn the right to represent Nigeria at the 2015 SAGE World Cup in South Korea (August 6-13 2015).

It is worthy to note that SAGE Nigeria has won the World Cup six times in the last seven years- Ukraine 2007, Abuja 2008, Brazil 2009, New York 2011, San Francisco USA 2012, Abuja 2013 and Moscow 2014.





On the day two of the event (9.30am -1.30 pm,27 June, 2015), SAGE Nigeria in collaboration with Central Bank of Nigeria will host a National Youth Entrepreneurship Education and Financial Inclusion Summit.

The summit will seek to provide answers to the following questions: 
·         What policies are needed to promote and develop effective and creative child and youth financial literacy and innovation, and to achieve remarkable breakthroughs?
·         What are the successful models and best practices for youth financial literacy and entrepreneurship education?
·         What tools, capacity and resources are needed for young entrepreneurs to compete and collaborate in the global economic, social, and scientific market and to understand evolutionary processes in the future?

Others speakers will include public and private sector policy makers- and development experts and representatives of children and youth.

Some  veteran  SAGE judges/speakers include: Ambassador John Campbell(former US Ambassador to Nigeria),Ambassador Oleg Scoropad(former UkrainianAmbassador), , Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu(former Minister of Finance) ,Ms. Marie Francoise Marie-Nelly(World Bank Country Director),  Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi(former CBN Governor)Jiang Lee(Education and Cultural Councilor Chinese Mission),Dr. Abdu Muktar(former MD Abuja Investments Company Limited),  Paul Eluhaiwe(Director, Development Finance CBN),  Mallam Bature Masari (Director GeneralSMEDAN),Dr. Bob Arnod (Programme Manager SJG-DFID).
