Delete"Hello there" isn't conventional but it's not wrong shaa...."are you from where" is wrong (lol) it's used by people who translate Igbo or yoruba directly to English (word for word)...
Delete"Hello dear" is personal
Delete"Hello there" is used when U bump into a group of people.
I may be wrong though.
But U of all people isn't suppose to be complaining...
Whichever is correct I don't know but it is 'where' not 'were'
Delete@ German, 'WHERE' are you from? You meant.
DeleteHello dear and Hello there are two different things. Hello there is simply short for Hello to you over there or Hello to you there. It's totology english..lol

baby wants beautiful house.......
The yolk of the egg is white.
ReplyDeleteAn Egg yoke is yellow.
ReplyDeleteFirst both would be wrong because the yolk of an egg is in fact yellow not white!
ReplyDeleteHowever, on the point of grammar, the yolk of an egg is a singular object and therefore the correct declination of the verb to be in the sentence would be 'is' and not 'are'.
Thus the proper form is 'the yolk of the egg is yellow' and for the plural case 'the yolks of the eggs are yellow'
None is correct Stella
ReplyDeleteThanks Stella for the old school school song by Shina Peters. You just made my day
ReplyDeleteyolk - can b used as singular/plural
