Man Stabs Estranged Wife To Death And Blames It On The Devil.

A 31-year-old indigene of Delta State, Michael David, who allegedly murdered the mother of his son and subsequently reported himself to the police for arrest, has blamed the devil for his actions.

Micheal while in a brawl with the victim, Oyinyechi Dennis, allegedly stabbed her to death at Ojoku area of Lagos. Oyinyechi confronted Micheal for going around town, accusing her of sleeping around, when the fight began.

Recounting the incident, the suspect said his action was not intentional and blamed the devil, saying...

“Oyinye is the mother of my son, although I did not marry her legally but when she became pregnant for me, I went to her aunty and uncle who she was living with for introduction.

‘’We then started living together. But we had a misunderstanding and then she packed out of my house.

“On Tuesday morning, Onyinye came to my house, I thought she just came to visit me but I later saw her mood and knew something was wrong. She confronted me with an issue she heard. She said I was spreading rumour about her living a wayward life style and not sleeping at home.

‘’She asked me if I was behind the rumour and I told her yes, that I had noticed it since she left my place.

‘’Out of anger, she picked up a bottle, broke it and threatened to deal with me and we began to fight. While we were fighting, I overpowered her and took the broken bottle from her. She rushed again to where the knife was and picked the knife.

‘’Out of anger, I collected the knife from her and mistakenly stabbed her in the stomach with the knife, shortly after she died.

“After my action, I sat for sometime thinking of what to do, whether to run away or go to the police station to report myself. I then decided to report myself at Tolu Divisional Police Station," he said.

A sister to the deceased who gave her name as Chika, said she was surprised when Micheal called her on Tuesday to inform her that Onyinye is dead and that he was at the police station.

‘’I immediately rushed down to the police station to find out if it was true and that was where I heard the whole story.

“What was even more surprising is the fact that on that same day,  after the incident, he called one of our neighbours to tell my other sister to bring his son which she did but after sometime, he returned the boy.

‘’Maybe he was thinking of running away with his son but God did not give him the courage to do so. All I just desire now is for the police to complete investigation into the matter and let the law deal with him accordingly,” she added.

I dont think he wanted to run away with his son,he wanted to see the boy for the last time....see what anger does?
Every time i get angry at anyone or anything,i beg God to fix my anger.Anger can kill..this story is proof!

When I get angry,I go quiet.
I leave that environment and go to my room n lie down.
When I am angry,I do NOTHING because I may do something I may regret later.
I had anger issues before marriage n two years after marriage,I sat down with God and told HIM that I have a big problem with anger, that He should please, cleanse me of that anger. He did. Today,if you like, shout at me,I tell you to chill.
My highest road rage is the "tongue out, waka sign and to tell them ,U deycraze.

So,if you have anger issues, talk with God and He will help you.

  12. I believe this is a scene from a Yorubawood film. I can't believe such a thing can happen in real life.
Why can't he just tell her that he is not behind the gossip? I know that would have saved the situation.

  17. A sad tale indeed. From his actions after the act, I. Strongly believe it wasn't intentional and he has shown remorse to great extent. If he has a good lawyer the sentence would be minimal

  21. Was this premeditated or what? Unfortunately dead don't talk if not how we take sure say d knife and bottle thing na true. Going against a man physically isn't something l recommend except d lady is perfectly sure she can overpower d man

    1. That is it oo, it's not advisable to fight a man when u know he's strong and can mistakenly hit u in a bad part that can lead to death. Anyway we dnt know if he is saying the truth because the lady is dead and can't say her own account of what really happened, I dislike violent people!! Anything involving bottle, knife, slap count me out

  22. Anger is a sin.....The story sounded like self defense because I think the lady would have ended up killing him if he hadn't retaliated. Anyway may God forgive the both of them and accept her soul.

    1. And how sure are you that it was self defence? He must have thought it tru b4 calling the police. Who wan sound so guilty when reporting his or herself so I believe only God knows what happened. He might have killed out of the annoyance of knowing he could never have her back.
