Igbo Leaders In Lagos Present 7-Point Demand To Ambode

Igbo Progressive Leaders Council, IPLC, Lagos State chapter yesterday, presented a seven-point demand to the state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode.

The Publicity Secretary of IPLC, Dr. Harris Chuma listed the 7-point demands as:

1) Safety of lives and property of all Lagosians, including Ndigbo.

2) That the Lagos State Government will continue to support and maintain profound relationship with the Igbo traditional institution in the state.

3) Establishment of a board that will recognise the Lagos Igbo honorary chieftaincy affairs.

4) Sustained improvement of the road network in the state, ensuring that Igbo people get equal treatment as their Yoruba counterparts.

5) Compensation for victims of fire disaster in the various markets.

6) End to harassment, intimidation and extortion of Igbo by unscrupulous government officials.

7) That the newly inaugurated government will not take Igbos for granted and will not treat them with impunity.

The group, led by the Publicity Secretary of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, also called for continuous cordial relationship between Ndigbo and the state government.

Any way, my comment is ' I laugh in egun' . What audacity! Mandate my ass..

Allow me respond to these yeye demands

    1. Since when has the safety of lives and properties a government priority? Ndigbo or not, we face the same deprivation.

    2. When has this been a problem? You see any better igbo man for lagos during new yam festival? Abi una dey carry the yam con dash 'lagosians'? Park well biko.

    3. My father is a chief in his house... no one cares. If you want to be addressed as a chief, no body go fight you. So your request is inconsequential.

    4. In fact, no comment. Let me know what street/road leads to Ndigbo avenue. I will personally assist with carrying the poun-poun. As if there is any difference. . Osihsko

    5. When baba Biliki and mama Monsuru get theirs, you would too. But wait, you need it more because you are Ndigbo? Wait let me write you a cheque.

    6. Since when as agberos become government officials? Ndigbo, you are not alone. Harassment continua!

    7. Mshweeee. .. wake up and smell the ogogoro. You are not the only ones.

What audacity! Instead of your representatives to advocate for better things perhaps an 'Ndigbo Village' if you really think that you are being deprived, you are here making noise over nonsense.

You seem to assume all those who chose to stay out of the drama are all Yorubas, get over it! Not all Igbos are war-mongering animals either! We all know what happened during Biafran war, innocent people suffered and died. Nobody wants that. Some of you are senselessly insisting on war but a lot of sensible people refuse to be dragged down with you. There will always be conflicts and disagreement but there are also peaceful ways of resolving them without putting your people in harm's way. Because I've also noticed that it is some people's habit to attack peaceful comments. Well, any abuse, curse, insult etc directed my way for speaking will go right back to sender. It shall fall heavily on the sender. Amen! #saynotohate #saynotowar
