Ghana Flood And Fire Explosion - Over 90 Dead.

More than 90 people died in a fire explosion at a petrol station in Accra Ghana, as they sought shelter from the serious flood caused by a heavy rain last night.

The fire which broke out late on Wednesday night in the Kwame Nkrumah Circle area of Accra; a major car park, is said to have been caused by a fire that erupted at a nearby lorry terminal, which spread to the GOIL petrol station and other buildings where people were taking shelter from the rain.

The Red Cross put the death toll at 78, but the fire brigade said 90 people had been killed.

    2. I saw a picture somewhere of a woman and her baby dead on her chest. I wept uncontrollably last night because I just imagined how she tried to save her baby before they both died. This is beyond sad and traumatizing. Only God knows how it happened

  6. Poor drainage systems are the major cause of these Accra flooding! Life is such a mystery! One moment, you're chilling, laughing, eating, chatting away and probably telling someone you'll see them in a bit and the next, you're dead!
    May their souls find rest!

  24. Ppl, it is an El Nino year, this means that the weather will be erratic all over the planet. Please just have a disaster preparedness plan in place for you and your family members and some cash stashed at home for immediate emergencies.
