Human Rights lawyer, Festus Keyamo, has reiterated his call for the probing of the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.
Keyamo had written a letter, less than 2 weeks back, to the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Rep asking the National Assembly to commence investigations into NNPC activities as some NNPC officials, in collaboration with some local companies, were allegedly looting the country’s resources.
He explains the shady deals are more pronounced in the crude oil swap programme and offshore processing agreements of the company.
In an interview with Sahara TV on Saturday, Keyamo insisted there were a lot of issues necessitating investigations into Alison-Madueke’s management of the petroleum ministry.
Here are the interview excerpts....
“It is about a whole lot of issues. In my petition, I was particular about what has come to be known as the crude oil swap deals. Under this arrangement, we never knew that a lot of our crude oil was given to private oil companies in exchange for their bringing in petroleum products. Under one arrangement, they were supposed to take it out. We signed (out) the products and then took them back to Nigeria whether they were petroleum products or by-products.
“Under the other arrangement, we were supposed to be given the crude oil to sell at the international market and then use the money to import petroleum products into the country. Now, there have been reports in the papers of late that under these arrangements, certain Nigerian oil and gas companies made very huge, unwarranted profits and the simple reason is that they imported far less than the crude oil that they bought.
“Under this arrangement, some of them bought private jets, property around the world and began to live large. Certain individuals in the NNPC were seen as collaborators in this deceitful and grand plot. Before the minister left office, she picked up her pen and wrote a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, inviting it to probe these individuals and these groups. And I asked myself some imple questions: It is a bit curious who had supervisory authority over these individuals and these issues,” he said.
According to the lawyer, Alison-Madueke had access to all the relevant documents and could have easily given queries to the offenders.
“Why did she wait till the last minute to write a petition to the EFCC to probe these deals? And I told myself: It is not a person who runs to a police station to complain that is always the victim of the crime,” Keyamo said.

Slender fingers?
DeleteTueh
I prefer thick n long fingers biko
Torrr.. Keyamo is a fine man e-yah e-yah oh!!!!
DeleteThere is no way she is innocent. All these things happened under her watch. But no, she was busy doing other things. The same oil companies she wrote out their names will still have one or two things to say about her involvement. It's a vicious circle. They all know themselves. Even Otedola writing other oil marketers names is tainted.
ReplyDeleteLet her be probed and prove herself innocent
ReplyDeletePlease whatever is being done should be done quickly so that this new government can focus on matters arising mbok.
ReplyDeleteOkpolo eye thief woman
ReplyDeleteHahahhabahahaha
DeleteAnony u jus cracked me up wit dis
Do we need a soothsayer to tell us she & other public servants MUST be probed? Na wah for us o! It's clear to the blind how she & other ministers plundered this nation & sucked us dry. Make dem go ahead with the probes jare...Ghanaman signing out!
ReplyDeleteBy the where is this woman's husband since nobody hears about him all these years. However I an astonished that Mr keyamo is calling for probe in a country we all know that probes are nothing but circus shows whose a outcomes have remained what they are - shows. Can anyone point to any probe that produced results? Or is this truly a conspiracy to titilate Nigerians with probes while the culprits strut the streets? We are in the era of change and it well known that you can't be doing things the same way and expect different results. What is needed now is for people with evidence to quietly submit same to the efcc or police who will investigate and prosecute without fanfare. Efcc should stop the circus show on 10,20,50,100 count charges that amount to nothing. I know the are capable if the are serious to work. A one or two count charge that secures conviction is better that a million count charge that yields nothing. We all know that in other countries politicians, business people and civil servants dread jail terms and therefore are wary of comiting whereas in Nigeria no body is jailed hence they are not wary of comiting. Trust me nigerian s are also afraid jail. If I may ask why is that when an ordinary citizen steals and is court, what he stole is recovered and he then put to trial but when our big thieves are caught the loot is recovered and they are askek to go home? Change means equality before the law. Check out the case of mallam jangedi of zamfara who stole a goat on the one hand and Cecilia ibru and lucky igbinedion who billions that pauperised a large population of people in this country.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm true talk. Same Keyamo was/is the prosecutor on behalf of EFCC in the case against Fani Kayode. Matter still pending and is slated for next month. It's been well over 3 years, yet this matter is no where near completion nor conviction. Yet he wants them to initiate another probe that'll prolly drag till 2019. Whatever happened to the ones on ground and finishing them off? I'm no longer impressed by the show off or the call out requesting a person be probed!!
DeleteYes, she should be probed. Other people that are suspected to have enriched themselves with public fund should not be left out. This people include Babangida, Obasanjo, Abdusalami Abubakar, The Abachas and so on.
ReplyDeleteI support that she should be probed but where keyamo enter all dis while
ReplyDeleteSee as ur foolishness dey carry u reach everywhere just to embarrass ur shameless self? Is Festus not a Nigerian? Shouldn't he demand for accountability? Stop exhibiting ur ignorance in public. U get children tomorrow o!...Ghanaman signing out!
DeletePEOPLE THE BIGGEST THIEF IS PRINCE HARUNA MOMOH, MD PPMC. He should be probed. The guy is the biggest thief on the planet. He and his Wife, OCHUKO MOMOH have stolen the kind of money that is unimaginable. Plus I have proof.
ReplyDeleteNa wa o. May God help us in this country.
DeleteKeyamo himself is extremely corrupt so he should shut up. What about the shenanigans he and Farida perpetuated at EFCC. PMB should also pick him up.
ReplyDeleteShe should be probed so that this matter can be laid to rest.
DeleteI like her big eyes,lol
ReplyDeleteEFCC should do the needful
You are all jealous evil idiots.Keyamo himself couldn't even take care of his home, useless man as if he wouldn't do worse if he were given the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteIt is pple like u Anon 16:07 that do not want d progress of dis country. Where is d jealousy here? Someone pointed out d obvious and u are dragging his private life into mess.
DeleteWith pple like u, Nigeria is on a very long thing. You are d evil here not d pple seeking way forward for d country.
