Fayose Tells Nigerians To Pray For Buhari Instead Of Criticising Him Over "Old Age" Statement

Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has stated that he would not join other Nigerians criticising President Muhammadu Buhari for reportedly saying that age might limit his performance.

The statement which has drawn nationwide criticisms from Nigerians, has gotten an opposite reaction from Fayose who earlier called for the president’s disqualification over his age.

According to DailyPost, Governor Fayose through his spokesman has urged Nigerians to pray for the President instead of attacking him.

“No, no, we cannot talk like that, but all that we owe the President is to pray for him to be able to do the demands of his office,” the governor’s spokesman, Mr. Lere Olayinka said yesterday while addressing the press.

“Election is gone, and all that was done in the past is past and the time for election campaign is gone,” he added.

Nice one coming from Fayose and i definitely agree with him on this one!

  4. I agree he needs our prayers but let's be sincere he should have thought of this before campaigning. That's the problem with we Nigerians we leap before we look. Power hungry seeking men

  5. Old age is not a death sentence as we all will someday grow old.
But, it differs in the case of Buhari cos he's a leader...Have you all bothered to ask why he was absent at the meeting he was supposed to hold with Apc members on the day of the inauguration of the 8th senate? Old man was still very much asleep when everyone was at the venue waiting for him.
    No one can fight nature.

    3. In a democratic government u cannot just punish a person because they exercised their freedom and right of speech. Not that I support this man and his watery mouth that can be annoying sometimes, but I keep reading comments from people, saying Buhari will jail this or that because of what happened during their campaign. That's gibberish. He cannot use his authority as a President to punish anyone. I think people should stop painting Buhari in that light.

    5. @ sis Eko, I agree with you, most of the people saying Buhari will jail that, jail this are children, this is a democratic govt, you cannot do that, the will of the people will prevail. No one is proven guilty until a court of law finds the person guilty. See Kashamus case, APC is finding it difficult extracting that man, as long as the case is still in court, nobody can do anything to him. The world is a global village now, you can't ship him in a crate like they did to Umaru Dikko, human rights people will have a field day. Una no see say Britain don comot hand, leave the matter for America. Thank God for Internet o jare.

    6. @AAO: Obviously you don't understand the game. In politics there are no permanent friends and enemies. Fayose is supporting his president and I think this is a good move for him. @Sisi Eko: I always love you comments because it portrays intelligence and maturity.

Aisha is even more visible than our president, and she's dragging Osunbade's wife, oops I mean Osibajo's wife with her. Maybe is a figment of my imagination, Osibajo's wife kind of looks sad, like, what have we gotten ourselves into, Yemi.

I can see most people don't know their rights, sad. Until a court of law finds him guilty, no one can jail him, moreover he's a serving governor, he has immunity my dear, unless Ekiti law makers impeach him. Educate yourself please and people should stop saying Buhari will jail people

  18. Pray for him? For what bloody reason? He is old and so what, our grandmother's and grandfather's are also old, didn't he knw he was old before he started chasing presidency, now he's the president he wants to make excuses when he has not even started doing anything yet,he shouldn't have made so much noise during d campaign and throwing meaningless promises left, right, front, back and center and shouting "change change change" baba you had better fulfil all those promises if not Nigerians will have your head,it is then you will see Nigerians changing their mouth and start comparing him to GEJ or saying that GEJ was better

The day this country will have a young man of abt 40yrs as a civilian president is d day things will start happening. All these old bag of bones won't leave d younger generation to take over.
