Emmanuel Adebayor's Relatives In Nigeria Beg Family To Reconcile

Tottenham player, Emmanuel Adebayor’s family crisis has become a source of concern to his relations and kinsmen in Igbaye, Odo Otin Local Government Area of Osun State, where he is originally from.

The kinsmen in Adebayor’s hometown, speaking on the issue, said the footballer’s late father, Shadrach Adebayo Adeyi, hailed from Eesa compound, one of the largest families in Igbaye. While his mother, according to them, is from Ekusa, a community not far from Igbaye.

Emmanuel and his siblings were said to have been born and raised in Togo after their father left Ghana, when former Ghana President Jerry Rawlings drove illegal Nigerian immigrants out of the country. Their father, Shadrach chose to settle in Togo rather than return to Nigeria.

The relatives further said the player’s father died some years back and was buried in Togo and that the family had cut their ties with their kinsmen in Igbaye but added that they would love to see them re-unite and return home.

The head of the Eesa family, Pa Nathaniel Okunlola, 103, said he and other members of the family wanted the siblings to reunite and move on with their lives.

He said, “We are not happy about the development and we are appealing to them to stop the show of shame. I am sure their father, Shadrach, will not be happy in his grave. It is disturbing when siblings engage in this kind of dirty fight.

“There is no family where there are no issues but such issues are not made public. I believe it is the handiwork of the devil.

“We do not know how their quarrel started and we won’t apportion blames but we are using this medium to reach out to them to stop this fight.

“Our family here in Igbaye wants them to come home and do something (to re-establish their father’s legacy). They can rebuild their father’s house. Their father, Shadrach, built a house here when he was living in Ghana. They can rebuild it or build their own. We are proud of them and even if they will not come, they should stop the fight. We are begging them in the name of God.”

It was also gathered that Emmanuel Adebayor's father, who used to visit Igbaye before his death, never brought home his children.

It will be recalled that the famous footballer had recently taken to Facebook to accuse his mother and siblings of wanting his downfall despite helping them. His brothers and sister had also fired back through various media, slamming him for selfishness and neglect.

Money is the root of their problems...its funny how united some families are without money and how the monster raises its ugly head between them when God begins to bless them financially.what a shame!

  11. Its disheartening when the same siblings that are suppose to protect him are the ones trying to destroy him. I pray God grant them peace & reconcile them. Let their relatives @ Igbaye go to Togo to try & settle them. I feel so sadden by his mother & his elder brother because they are suppose to be the pillars of the family & not the destroyers.

  19. Adebanyo just came back from Togo days ago after he was granted holiday by his club. He enjoyed himself and was excited after his trip. His recent trip was really helpful as he was close to mental breakdown with all the family issues.
I think his mum should share must of the blame in their problem,as a mother she should have united his kids rather than support the bad eggs among her kids while allow the good one become an outcast. Family is important but when one family is ungrateful or push you away then you have no choose than to let them be. He should let his family be at the moment even if he want to settle with his family members he need to be more careful.

  22. No! de should continue. Ndi okenye na agwo ofe. D cause of all these is laziness. Instead of dem to hustle and make dia own money, de are dia blaming Adebayor for dia Laziness. Some tribe in Nigeria is so lazy dt wen one person makes money, odas peach like termites to eat u dry. I didn't call any name but am sure de know themselves.

  23. Abeggi what kind of reconcile and come back home talk is that? Yes they should reconcile but coming back home? Naa to do what na? Its bcos he's successful that they want them to relocate. Suppose he's not, I'm sure they won't even remember their father is related to them.
Make them no come back o b4 them use jazz wipe them one by one. Naija with witchcraft wahala.

  24. 'When money talks'. Because Adebayor is rich and famous, all eyes are on him, even his village people. Assuming he is poor, who would've remembered him?

  25. Adebayor ignore them already and move on with ur life, if i were u i would focus on doing my best and making more money. When they get tired (dats if they get tired) of dragging ur name to d mud u guys can then reconcile. For nw live ur life, work, play, life's to short already to have Hi-BP n die young coz its still this your family that will scramble for whatever you leave behind.
