President Buhari's spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu, yesterday disclosed that the appointment of ministers is not topmost in the president’s agenda at the moment.
Shehu said the ministerial appointments would be made, but Nigerians have to wait until the process of evolving a corrupt free society has gathered momentum as the President is more concerned about stamping out insecurity and and corruption from the country.
Speaking he asked, “As it is now, is there any lacuna? Are you thinking there is any gap that is not being covered by the bureaucrats?
There is nothing that is not being covered as the president currently works with the Permanent Secretaries who are part of most meetings.
"Nobody is saying that it is not important to make political appointments. He will make appointments but as he has said himself, he wants to scrutinize and make the right kind of appointment."
"He doesn’t want to appoint one today and make changes tomorrow."
"Given this war for the recovery of stolen funds, doing that will have implication for the people who are going to be appointed. If he appoints you today and may be in the drive, you are implicated, he will fire you," Garba Shehu said.

ReplyDeleteAh isn't this what I said in the earlier post? That he doesn't want to rush to appoint a person that would later be fingered as EFCC 'case study'. I told ya.
ReplyDeleteYeah we told dem mehn!

Nice one my dear president, like the former ministers do any work aside looting and attending FEC meeting to plan how to loot more with mr stealing is not corruption.

So since march 28 that he won d election till date, he hasn't been able to appoint ministers??? This is so shameful. What has he been doing for three months, isn't that enough time for him. Excuses upon excuses. I'm sure the people that voted dat old man in are already seeing d wrong in dat. Lie to urselves all u want but u know u are beginning to ask urselves questions. Namsense. Buhari thinks being President is child's play.
ReplyDeleteYou really didn't need to comment. Can you do a better job? Someone is trying to build a competent foundation and all you had to write was this?

DeleteOnly good thing about u's u never surprise any!
Delete@Eka, how do expect him to get his list screened by various anti corruption and security agencies as at March 28th? was there a parallel government? Do you comment for the sake of it? Please be a bit more constructive.
DeleteMy dear. U were in a hurry for lots of things in life. How many have u achieved. Pmb should take as much time as possible to strategies.
DeleteEka ur thief jonathan got more than 40 ministers, he appointed them every weeks. So tell me the benefits and their impact on Nigeria,?i could remember wen he wanted to appoint koro and d scene behind it, Pls kindly tell me koro achievement on is little village people talk less of nigeria ? Tell me who destroyed nigeria economy, is it not ur jonathan corrupted ministers? If u continue like this u ll not progress in life and end up rotting in hell.
DeleteEg: Tinubu, Amaechi. Kikikikiki
DeleteSee them. Tgw, my hate for him is real and I won't stop. I've been hoping he can prove me wrong but all he's been doing is giving excuses upon excuses.
DeleteAnons and co, today is Sunday, I no get una power.
Chinuere,leave Amuechi biko
DeleteI just love my PMB !
ReplyDeleteRide on sir!
They must all be fished out!
Slow and steady wins the race...
Kontinu sir....
The change we need has come!
Don't mind them.
ReplyDeleteLet them continue screaming.
I know he won't be stampeded into appointing ministers until he's ready.
What has the former ministers contributed to the economy except to steal money?
t has been confirmed that Nigeria Air Force, under the directives of the Buhari-led administration, raided Ikot Obiokut, a border community in Cross River state for reasons not yet clear to observers.
ReplyDeleteHe said “An anonymous reporter confirmed that raid by Hind helicopter gunships using incendiary bombs massacred over three hundred villagers and about twenty militants. One observer who wishes to remain anonymous said: “It seems the present Federal Government is avenging for the killed Boko Haram terrorists.”
Why was this not covered In the news
Are you kidding me? Pls pple in that part of Nigeria just speak up
DeleteBUHARI IS A FOOL, THE LAST TIME I CHECKED PROBING COMES LATER AFTER HAVING A STRONG CABINET.THIS MAN IS TOO DULLL FOR MY LIKING
ReplyDeleteSo instead of avoiding an accident. You rather have the accident then pay for your hospital bills then repair your car init? I can see how smart you really are
DeleteGo back and read the press release, typing in block letters won't make you more intelligent.
DeleteRotfl
DeleteSo that is the reason why Federal civil servants would not be paid their salaries abi . Must we all suffer , last month it was paid as @ when due , now you people want to start, weare begging you in God's name pay us , we are fasting , we need to buy foodstuffs . Please we beg you government people.
ReplyDeleteI thought he had already mapped out some things before he emerged as leader? Let the truth be told, there is no one there he is gonna appoint that does not have one issue or the other. Especially in these old generation men. The thing is will he be able to manage the skeleton when it comes forth. Well the ministries are not complaining of lack of their leaders and people are still getting salaries, at least for now so they should hold on. I no come understand this kain change.
ReplyDeleteLwkmd
DeleteI dont believe what the spokesman said.
ReplyDeleteHow much looted fund have Buhari recovered? Is there any meaningful thing he has done since taking over?We only hear he will do this,he will do that .What is holding him?He is now the president.Enough of these childish excuses already.Nigerians are waiting on him to deliver all the mouth watering campaign promises that helped him win the election.
Providing the country with a stable power supply wil be a good start.
Buhari is Baba Go Slow
DeletePls can u remind me how long PMB has been in office?
DeleteMy thoughts exactly! If it takes him one year to bring out Ministers and corruption and power are already having little improvement, then so be it!, we don't want idiots again!
ReplyDeleteKelvin dat Edo Boi
Your comment is perfect!!
DeleteMy thoughts exactly! If it takes him one year to bring out Ministers and corruption and power are already having little improvement, then so be it!, we don't want idiots again!
ReplyDeleteKelvin dat Edo Boi
Very well then
ReplyDeleteI just think he is clueless.
ReplyDeleteFor how long will his spokesmen cover up for him?
Stella, this is a lame and silly excuse. Contenders for Presidential or Premiership posts all over the world normally have a rough idea of ministerial appointments during the campaign stage. This is normally fine tuned and announced within days of forming a government. That way the new leader and his team hit the ground running. That is evidence of a well organised set up
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but I'm not buying this excuse. It smacks of confusion and incompetence. Remember that this man has less than 4 YEARS to work before things start shutting down for the next election. LESS THAN FOUR YEARS. For how long will Nigerians continue to tolerate mediocrity???
Your question should be is there any lacuna by not appointing ministers?
DeleteIs there any lacuna? What a typically Nigerian hopelessly side-stepping question to ask. Smh! Only in Africa. That is why we are sooooooo backwards.
DeleteI don't know why people are clamouring for the ministerial list, perhaps maybe they also make candidates they want baba to choose, who knows.
ReplyDeleteI think the most important thing to me is not ministerial list, but solving our numerous problems in this country. If GEJ did his own in s particular way, most the successor follow his steps?
Abeg let leave Buhari alone to focus on delivering his political promises, busy bodies them!
If you have nothing reasonable to say, learn to be quiet with your bad English
DeleteIt's simple. The man has not appointed ministers because the party has not agreed to his list. Y'all should be patient while they do their thing. The list will eventually show up.
ReplyDeleteI hope Buhari have not been living in Jupiter like one BV. So, he don't know some honest and efficient nigerians he will appoint into his cabinet uptil now. Wonders shall never end.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha
DeleteChinyelu, what did you sniff??
DeleteWhat's funny???
This one that you are lwkmding, lmaoing, hahahahaing under senseless comments............
This your laughter "isi" not healthy o
Sister, everything okay??
Onye Ara u took Weed for you to have noticed my laughter. I should ask u if u are ok
DeleteChinyere is a Minister-in-waiting
DeleteNobody should begrudge the president for taking his time to assemble his cabinet. The fire-brigade approach has employed by the PDP's gov't didn't take us anywhere in 16 years. No be how far or how long, but how well. Make una allow the former general time to do his work kwanu. Haba!...Ghanaman signing out!
ReplyDeleteShut up! This ain't Ghana
DeleteSo David Cameron here in UK, and all his predecessors, used fire brigade approach?
DeleteWho's this fool that doesn't know how to speak in public or even talk to strangers?! Na so una go use una bad mouth finish una boyfriends then come here to worry us with silly chronicles! Foolish Biatch!...Ghanaman signing out once again!
DeleteThe ones before u wey send theirs tell u sey dem be my girlfriend? U yeye O! Dis empress, I dey pity u O!
DeleteAnonymous...all i'm saying is that there's no need to hurry him to failure. Let's give him time to do his job. Only time will tell Weda he fails or passes. Until then...!!!
Lacuna, go slow, warreva, just bring down the price of pepper in the market and give us light mbok
ReplyDeleteSharumi
Let him do whatever bt pepper and yam too cost
ReplyDeleteWhy can't this Eka Joy just STFU. Always making comments that don't make sense. Bloody illiterate. If you don't know what is going on in the world, keep quiet. Must you comment on everything.
ReplyDeleteU for comment under my comment na. Oh OK, Ur useless lowlife fone no fit carry am. Pls and pls. Today is Sunday, let's continue tomorrow.
DeleteFor everybody that has ever started a new job. How many things did you achieve in one month of starting that new job. Not to talk of somebody who just took charge of a corrupt country who also has to sort out some immediate issues with the out going government before he can begin to work on his own government.
ReplyDeleteContinue looking for over night miracle in a country that was not destroyed over night.
Anyway, those criticizing Buhari are the ones who didn't vote for him, so I guess they're are still pained and will do anything to tarnish his image and try to bring him down. The forgot if he fails, it will affect all Nigerians and Nigeria s a whole.
Talk of biting your nose to spite your face.
Aboki Pls do the needful
ReplyDeleteDid David Cameron inherit one of the most corrupt countries in the world? Can you compare the U.K. to Nigeria when it comes to governance? Think before you comment.
