Baby Factory Discovered In Enugu; 9 Pregnant Girls Arrested

The Enugu State Police Command on Saturday raided a “baby factory” and arrested nine pregnant girls in the process.

The operation, carried out by the 9th Mile Division of the Nigeria Police Force, took the police to a baby factory located within Etiti Amankwo Ngwo of 9th mile, Udi local government Area of Enugu state.

The factory is allegedly being owned and operated by one Ikechukwu Onoh of Etiti Amakwo Ngwo.

The spokesman of the police in Enugu State, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, who confirmed the arrest to Daily Post said the pregnant women and girls later gave their names as “Stella James, 19 years of Ohaozara Ebonyi State, Eze Jennifer, 19 years of Obukpa in Nsukka local Government Of Enugu state, Ugwu Christabel, 17 years of Aku Igboetiti local Government of Enugu state, Happiness Mbaonu, 17 years of Nnewi Anambra state, Ovunna Ifeoma, 20 years of Ezza Ebonyi State”.

Others are Esther Nwankwo, 21 years of Nkalagu Ebonyi state, Onyedika Agu, 23 years of Isuawa Awgu of Enugu state, Blessing James, 23 years of Ohafia Abia state and Chibueze Ujunwa, 24 years of Nenwenta Aninri local Government Area of Enugu state.

Amaraizu added that “they are helping the operatives in their investigations.

“On the part of the owner of the factory, he claimed that he got a provisional approval in October 2007 from ministry of women affairs and social development Enugu State to admit and shelter pregnant women in his hospital called ‘Tex Hospital and maternity home’, and that the hospital is no longer functional, hence he is now running the home from his house.

“He also admitted that under the authority, he was supposed to inform the social development and women affairs within 24hrs of admitting any pregnant woman”.

Meanwhile, some of the girls claimed that they were raped by unknown persons and that they found succour in the home.

One of them claimed that she was raped and that she could not report to her parents until pregnancy resulted, leading to her being forced to marry an old man or leave the family.

This, she said made her to seek for assistance through one of her relations, who directed her to the home.

If only adoption process wasn't so tedious, a lot of rich "childless' couple won't be patronising these homes abi factories.

  16. Places like this in enugu, have been existing since 1950! That's how one girl in my hostel back then in 2010 got pregnant, hid it soooo well till she was 7months then disappeared before we could say Jack. Reappeared after 2 months looking sooo pretty and fair and had a change of wardrobean new phone and plenty of cash.... ( this was a girl we all contributed money to feed lkoz her family was managing) weeks later, it was confirmed she sold her baby and redecorated her life with the money gotten from the "business"

  20. Tufiakwa..D only place u can see all these baby factories is in Igbo land..You cant find such in d west or north..We like making money out of stupid things..things dat shouldnt even be encouraged..Just like d way kidnapping is rampant in igbo land..Some people do these things as their daily job..They make money out of it.

See how they recruit young girls to make babies for dem..Why wont it thrive in igboland when our men have d penchant of denying ur pregnancy..They dont care if u are pregnant with twins..They will tell u to abort or bear d consequences..What do u expect those girls to do,they will go looking for a baby factory to sell their babies to..

Daz why i love yoruba men.Even if they dont want to marry u,they will accept responsibility..They dont joke with their flesh and blood...See how Davido is treating his baby mama Sophia like queen but d idiot called himself Flavour eze nzuzu, chose to distance himself from his baby mamas and kid..Typical of an igbo man..
Pls dont remind me of Psquare and Lola..D Okoyes grew up in d north daz why they accepted their baby mamas..They behave more like d northerners than easterners..
