Emmanuel Adebayor will not be available for Tottenham’s final game of the season at Everton on Sunday after being allowed to return to his native Togo on compassionate grounds.
Adebayor published the latest in a series of lengthy Facebook posts this week in which he revealed he had contemplated suicide because of a family feud.
Concerns for the striker prompted the Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino to step in on his behalf. The 31-year-old, who has already been granted compassionate leave once this season, is also set to miss the club’s tour of the Far East, and his future at the club must now be in doubt.
Adebayor has used his Facebook account three times to reveal his complicated family issues. In his first post earlier this month he accused his brother Rotimi of stealing mobile phones belonging to team-mates at a leading French football academy.
Adebayor’s third instalment on Wednesday was the most striking as he said arguments with his brothers Kola and Peter, who died in July 2012, drove him to consider taking his own life.
“Many times I wanted to give up,” Adebayor wrote. “Ask my sister Iyabo Adebayor how many times I have called and was ready to commit suicide. I kept these stories for years. But if I die, no one would know my story, no one would learn from it. Some people say I should keep these stories private, but someone has to sacrifice himself, someone has to talk about it.”

I hope these people dont succeed in killing his football career!
Wicked Family!...Yes i said it!
okay good to know
ReplyDelete#GODWIN™
I pray they dont kill him in d process too. They are gradually killing his career too, Adebayor, pls be careful while settling your ish with them.
DeleteHousehold enemies r the worst.
DeleteEnemies from home. Emmanuel should have just ignored them cos all these whites ehn, if you have private issues, they know it'll affect you professionally. Not like Nigeria that don't concern themselves with your personal life which is good.
DeleteKill his career ke, he shd b wise as a serpent so they won't kill him..
DeleteEmma dont go to Togo o i beg. They will kill or charm u. And if u must, b4 u go write a will pls. U have a daughter
DeleteEmmanuel please find a good therapist asap and try to get better, several stars went through similar situations including Oprah, there is nothing wrong with saying what hurts and why, but it's best to do so in the privacy of a licensed therapist's office.
DeleteTherapists make a killing in Hollywood because so many stars with loads of money have unresolved issues, some see their therapists for several years, please don't feel you're alone in this... maybe it's the price you have to pay for success. Pastors are great but I don't feel they are equipped to handle some situations, they'll definitely pray for you but they may feel compelled to share your situation with others which we want to avoid, no licensed therapist would do that, it's not allowed.
Goodluck on this journey you are about to embark on, please don' t go to Togo until you've had a few sessions and your mind is in the right place, perhaps family therapy may be suggested, who knows.....
I hope he comes back a better man and a better player. Adebayor, after all these talks, no go anywhere near those demons u call Ur family oh (I want to assume u were being truthful), before they find a way to finish u off

DeleteGod forbid...they wont succeed...
ReplyDeleteI pray another club signs him in...footballers don't lose like that...
No one z worth dying for...
ReplyDeleteThey had better settle their ish
ReplyDeleteAnd afterwards, Emmanuel had better be careful with them
It's very obvious that they are enemies of his progress
Some family though!
They want to wreck him spiritually, physically and career wise!!
DeleteEnemies within abound.
Yes o. Enemies within abound!!!
DeleteVery wicked family.
His career started going down since he left Gunners!!Adebayo just need to focus and train hard
ReplyDeleteYou dey mind am..
DeleteEnough of the ranting abeg! If he doesn't want them to succeed then he should start training harder to be a better player!! Shikena
Some families are just bad omen! Uchu! If only God gave us d opportunity to foresee this kinda thing so we would choose d pple we want to be our family, it would have bn very ok! I seriously seriously understand Adebayor. Who no go no go know! Loyalty+Bond+trust= Family! It's not just blood o!
ReplyDeleteIf na dat one, d likes of dangote n bill gates will have over a million children o
DeleteFamily matters are very delicate..some families are horrible..imagine in a family, your siblings only want to come near you when things are rosy..but the minute small challenge come, they'll avoid you like bad habit..if you hear what people are facing in their families, you'll be surprised..in my own case,I was dating a white man, travelling round the world..anytime I return from my trips,na so my sisters go dey gather me like fly to shit..but I was passing thru hell in the relationship..the kind of things he was doing to me sexually was close to devilish..I ran for my dear life. I met my hubby, then he was a working student and really had nothing. That was when my family's true color came out. They avoided me,stopped talking to me and simply abandoned me. On my wedding day, they sat at the back of the hall like total strangers.not one of them gave me a gift. These are people that are well to do o.Even richer than my hubby..our first year of marriage was hell..I reached out to my family for help, they simply laughed in my face and told me to go and meet my shoe shiner of a husband. My sisters are bank managers,my brothers are managers in oil companies in Port Harcourt. My dad owns an oil servicing company. They all refused to help..I simply forgot about them o..but today God is improving our life. We're blessed with two wonderful kids (whom my family has not seen),hubby is coming up gradually..and he loves me to the moon and back..he's all the family I need..
Delete@Isoko man wife, ur family is simply BAD NEWS. They are very wicked, haba!!!!! Da Lord is ur strength.
DeleteD bitter truth abt family issue is that they really don't care when things go haywire with u. Anybody can prove me wrong, ur worst betrayal will surely come from within(family).... some pple have very good rapport with their families while it's d opposite for some...... God help us all.
DeleteMake he no near that Togo abeg. Dem go snuff him finally
ReplyDeleteCoded sack.
ReplyDeleteI hope they haven't fired him indirectly...?
ReplyDeleteI feel for him tho!
Adebayor, be strong man! When one way closes another one opens.
It is well with you.
My thoughts too, may God heal him and i hope they resolve their issues.
DeleteNATIVE TOGO OR NIGERIA ? BONJOUR STELLA.
ReplyDeleteTogo.. TOGO!! Do u live on this planet?
DeleteBe informed please.
Heard they're Nigerian migrants in Togo..his parents are from ejigbo in osun state but they were born and bred in Togo..hence togolese by birth...
DeleteEverybody with his /her own proble.
ReplyDeleteAdebayor the lord be with your spirit.amen
*Wickedfamily*in stella's voice
Adebayo needs Jesus Christ now to fix the family problems. This is pull him down syndrome.
ReplyDeleteMay God help him.
I miss watching this guy score goals and celebrate with his trademark salute. His career has really been on the downside ever since. I hope he bounces back very soon.
ReplyDeleteThey won't succeed by God's grace. He should just keep off them cos I don't think his family members are ready to settle anything. Live your life emma and move on without them before they reduce you to a begger. Bad family.
ReplyDeleteGod Fix it. Everything is possible with you God. Adebayor Suicide is not an Option
ReplyDeletethe club has been trying to sell him. now perfect reason to discard of him.
ReplyDeleteHe need to go with security or bouncers, incase kola misbehaves
ReplyDeleteGod will not allow his family have victory over him.
ReplyDeleteSome families are worse than enemies.
It is well Emmanuel.
Adebayor is a yoruba man. We all know yoruba people are experts in juju. They have finished him professionally with their remote control. I pity him.
ReplyDeleteBut he is also very foolish for not ignoring them and focusing on his career.
He has been diplomatically fired. What was he thinking when he was washing his family's dirty laundry in the public,?
ReplyDeleteAdebayor go back to your root.
ReplyDeleteWhat you wish him will befall you.
DeleteTears
ReplyDeleteEnemies from home. Emmanuel should have just ignored them cos all these whites ehn, if you have private issues, they know it'll affect you professionally. Not like Nigeria that don't concern themselves with your personal life which is good.
ReplyDeleteNa real wa!! If they had their own sources of livelihood, there would not be too much resentment. In this case, it looks like he is their source of livelihood so if the 'tap' isnt flowing fast enough, it is a very big deal......
ReplyDeleteThis Adebayor family don dey jazz dis boy o. I don't just understand some family member's. They seem like d type dat want him to die so dey can share his properties. They wont succeed In Jesus name.
ReplyDeletewhite people are just amazing.
ReplyDeletei can imagine the depression this guy would be going through....my heart prays for him. I hope he find peace and healing. I prays he makes a rebound in his career. Amen
ReplyDeletei can imagine the depression this guy would be going through....my heart prays for him. I hope he find peace and healing. I prays he makes a rebound in his career. Amen
ReplyDeleteMoney making machine ur very foolish, Adebayor is not even Nigerian, he's Togolese. Get ur facts rite before saying rubbish. Money maker ko,kobo maker ni.
ReplyDeleteStill saying it, his mother is to blame for everything because she failed along the line to address the issue properly before getting to this stage. He shouldn't go to Togo, telephone conversation (speaker mode) can still help. He needs prayer. If they kill him will they see shi-shi?
ReplyDeleteGod will make a way for him.
Evil family! Hian!!! Blood of Jesus! Emmanuel flee from them o!!!
ReplyDeleteAdebayor has always been controversial and unsettling. I remember his days at Arsenal and his many fights with his coach and team mates. I won't be surprised if the otumokpo his family is using is working against him. He's never had it so easy with his footballing career
ReplyDeleteThey have been after him for a while. Causing dissension between him and people spiritually.
Deleteoh please don't be dumb he's from Togo but is still a Yoruba man. his Yoruba parents settled there from osun. money making machine is right.
ReplyDeleteDen wan frustrate this guy.
ReplyDeleteMake the whole family get money na in b d best ooo
Adebayor please do not go back to your family o! Please run to Jesus Christ instead. He is the way! With His power you can conquer every form of evil that comes your way. He said, "come on to me all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest."
ReplyDeletePlease avoid Togo like the plague. Since you are in London you can contact Pastor Agu Irukwu of RCCG Jesus House for counseling. I cover you with the blood of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against you shall prosper in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
