  8. President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria today jokingly asked his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan if she was going to divorce him after he leaves office as President of Nigeria.

The President asked the question at a thanksgiving and farewell service organised in his honour at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life Camp, Gwarinpa, Abuja.

PUNCH reports that the President speaking of how more friends will likely desert him after his exit from office said, ''If you take certain decisions, you should know that those close to you will even abandon you at some point. And I tell them that more of my so-called friends will disappear. When FW De Clark took the decision to abolish minority rule in RSA, even his wife divorced him. I hope my wife will not divorce me.

Dame Jonathan reportedly shouted 'No' as her response to the question.

  19. Well all the best in retrospect you'd have realized a lot of your so called friends never had your interest at heart , they just played you for money . Now you will understand better .

Mama peace you are such a fine woman , unfortunately your bag carriers never advised you to lose weight and try and look agile , now hopefully you'd have time to become trim.
I love the neck piece dainty but that your skirt you look like Ekpe dancer , Biko try and give out all those clothes eeeeh and start a new . But don't divorce GEJ , just be careful when Deziani comes visiting.

  28. Stella, people need to know what has been happening in Calabar. Commented on a post Laila put up about the governor and his wife holidaying abroad and I just went back there to see that the post has been taken down.

The crime rate in Calabar now is something else and since the prison break(they lied noone escaped but a lot of prisoners did) the level of armed robbery and kidnappings just shot up. They keep covering it up because of their nonsense tourism, nothing is being done. People are scared of their lives. You can't step out without the fear. Businesses are at risk, market places too not safe. They steal guns even from policemen who they kill while doing that. The state has been a mess since Imoke's regime; the man just cares about his pocket and nothing more. Who carries shoprite and put right next to a market place where people sell provisions and other things? Other states look for an undeveloped area so the place can open up, but in Calabar no. Their greed made them sell cultural centre which is in the heart of town to shoprite. After they will start harassing people with taxes. PHCN bills nko, that one is story for another day. They are just killing people like fowls in that state and the govt doesn't care. Most people have taken justice into their hands killing armed robbers they catch but can you blame them? Just last week, someone that went to bank was robbed and when they managed to catch up with them, the money had turned into papers, thats how scary things happening here is. I sincerely believe you will post this and not ignore it. People are living in fear here.

  33. i was just admiring mama peace from the wait upwards thinking how elegant she looked ...until i saw the feathered, layered bottom piece..kai!! sometimes i feel as if her stylists deliberately turn her out like this and laugh at her behind her back!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. if i were Mama Peace my mouth would even be opened wider than that, singing "Thank God, a great burden has been lifted'.

Nigerians are difficult to please and honestly it must be a relief to hand over all the unrealistic expectations to someone else.

quite frankly i don't know whether to rejoice with Buhari or commiserate with him. Dis country no easy at all all to rule.
