According to a fresh press release from the president-elect's campaign organisation, the retired army general, Mohammadu Buhari seeks to be regarded with the official title reserved for Nigeria’s president; while his vice seeks to be described with his academic title of professor.
“From May 29, 2015 the President-elect and Vice-President-elect are to be respectively known and addressed as Muhammadu Buhari, President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria and Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Garba Shehu, the head of the Directorate of Media and Publicity of Mr. Buhari’s campaign organisation said.
The statement also displayed the official portrait of the two men who will be sworn-in as Nigeria’s President and Vice President on May 29.
