A housewife in Atumaga community in Delta State died after eating from the egusi soup she had poisoned for her cheating husband.
According to Leadership Newspaper, the woman identified as Egwoli (surname withheld), was frustrated that her husband was cheating on her with other women, neglecting her for over two years they've been married. She also complained that her husband has not been making love to her since they got married two years ago.
But sources said the housewife, a petty trader, instead of seeking the family’s intervention, allegedly sought the help of native doctor who
prepared the love charm for her with strict instructions to add the substance to her husband's food to gain back his affection.
But unfortunately after preparing the egusi (melon) soup, her errant husband was nowhere to be found.
Not knowing the charm had deadly effects, she ate from the soup and went to bed and was found dead the following morning.
The husband who had earlier complained that he stopped making love to his wife because of the offensive body odour that oozes out of her body, narrated the circumstances that led to her tragic end,
"My wife had threatened to make me impotent when I stopped making love to her for obvious reasons and I found some fetish items in her room, including the egusi soup she ate before her death," he said, not wanting his name in print.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Celestina Kalu, has confirmed the incidence and said that the police was investigating the circumstances that led to the woman’s death.

DeleteMba Ashi Ashi
Anon 12:57, GBAM! The husband is probably ready to replace her with one of his chewing gum girls outside, he didn't want to look bad for kicking her out after such a short marriage and wants to look justified in his actions once he brings in the new girl, so he kills her and makes up all these stories. They said she was found dead the next morning after eating her own poison, then who narrated her part of the story for her? The police better take him in for questioning and confessions........Just Saying
DeleteU use ur hand kill urself

No Linda she was not a learner. He killed her and cooked up that story to take the attention away from him. The story reeks of lies and I pray he doesn't go unpublished.
DeleteHe killed her ! What kinda story is this? Who told him she went to a native doctor ? or bought a love potion? How did he know the soup was poisoned ? Is he omniscient? He killed her. He is way too informed to feign ignorance .
DeleteHe must have poisoned the food by himself. I doubt if she'd foolishly eat it, she ate it and then went to sleep, just like that? How do they even know the entire story? Hmm
DeleteOmg!things are really happening....she just killed her self.RIP
ReplyDeleteissorait she dug a pit abi and fell inside
ReplyDelete#GODWIN
Simple dialogue between both husband and wife might have solved this matter.
ReplyDeleteWife; Baby, why don't you make love to me anymore?
Husband; Because you stink baby. I can't stand it.
Wife; Okay baby. Will work on my hygiene.
Case closed. Now someone had to die. Sad

DeleteSomething smells fishy here
Rip to the dead!
So how did they know the egusi was poisoned?
ReplyDeleteThis leadership people and their Stories, so did the dead woman leave a note before dying? Or they did local Autopsy on her and discovered she laced the Egusi soup that supposedly killed her with love portion. I don't believe this story.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Atumaga in Delta state, nor that name I feel like They make up some of their stories.
Spot on Nuvi. Which kain eat egusi soup and died story be dis? Me I follow u get doubt abeg.

Igbo way of calling elder ones especially Owerri people. Could be aunty, uncle, ma, sir. It's usually out of respect. Could also mean big sis, big bro etc. So I called Sis Ugbo. Hehehehehe. Hope u get it

ReplyDeleteThose whom the gods want to destroy first of all go mad.
ReplyDeleteWhat will make u even eat any food in that house that day knowing you put something inside for your errant husband? D man even get money sef that she went to do juju for him? Women that make their husbands their all in all mostly end up like this. Every woman should empower themselves and stop looking at their husbands as their lifeline and the day he misbehaves you tell him Fuck U and the Horse you rode in on.
Seriously. What will make her eat out of a meal she had laced with whatever?
DeleteIf not hunger, the 1st child of poverty.. mtchew
Hian!
ReplyDeleteWhat?? See karma on Olympics oo. Perhaps the herbalist made her smell rotten to her hubby so he could have her. And of cos wanted to kill her hubby tru her without her knowledge. Now see what oversabi can cause o. She outdid herself to the pit. Smh
ReplyDeleteYou guys are stupid and because of this kind of thinking, the man is going to get away with killing his wife.
DeleteAnonymous, u are the stupid one. Stating the conceivable without giving much thoughts to every other thing possible makes u a shallow thinker. So don't celebrate ur stiff thinking just yet. If he didn't kill her, what else could have happened? Did it occur to ur dead brain that news of her antecedents may have spread out to the hubby for him to make this statement matter of factly? But no, u have to insult people without giving ur constructive argument. Just because u want everyone on this thread to echo that her hubby killed her. U lazy thinker... Zap my friend
DeleteHearsay! How are we sure this is what happened? What if the man was the one who poisoned the wife? How did they know this story of charm in egusi when the woman already died b4 the man got home? Who found d dead body? Was d egusi tested? I don't believe this story at all. May d woman's soul rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I am glad few people can think outside the box.
DeleteI am appalled by how most people believe stories, even unrealistic ones like this.
Na wa oh!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, to stay in marriage, is it by force? I don't no y ppl do stupid tins just to stay in marriage, now she is dead.
ReplyDeleteThis life ehn! Since the woman was found how did the husband get to know the story of the supposedly poisoned soup? How did he know about the love charm that has deadly consequences for the charmer? How do you get away with blaming a dead woman who cannot resurrect to tell her own side of the story? For once I'm pissed that police did not do their usual way of arresting the closest person, in this case, the husband. IMHO, he's the 1st suspect because he could easily have poisoned his wife so that he can go on with his philandering ways. Anyway, God dey! The truth can only be hidden for some time...One day the truth will be known.
ReplyDelete*found dead*
DeleteEyaah, bomerang.
ReplyDeleteChimo! Which kind yama yama gist be this na. Now the hubby will spread his wings and fly as he likes. She has killed herself over a wandering dick.

DeleteBoomerang kor!!! Taaaaaa!!!
D man is a bastard beast...na him kill d woman period!!!
Single babes, open ur anyan well well o, oloriburuku men everywhere!!!
Omashe ooooo
ReplyDeleteHow people jump into conclusions...investigations have not been carried out yet but they'be concluded she killed herself by herself. Which reasonable person eats food laced with love portion for another person?
ReplyDeleteShe might have committed suicide, though not sure but how could she had eaten from the same food she put substance. Only God knows. RIP
ReplyDeleteSomething ain't right about this story. Who told the story since the woman died in her sleep. How did they know that she went to a native doctor? How did they know that it was the egusi soup that killed her, abi did anyone else or maybe an animal taste the soup and also died? Plenty missing things inside the tori. Make them hold the husband and question him biko. Egusi soup ko, love potion ni. Akuko mike ejeagha.
ReplyDeleteHmm..plans gone bad..mehn..I pity her. But y consult a native doctor eh...Nawa o..
ReplyDeleteI blame the woman for trying to use a. Love portion..guess it backfired..
Well..some husbands can be pathetic you found out she has a body odour and what did u do eh???
Blabla bla..you stopped .making love to her...
Chei....see another one!!!

ReplyDelete*Larry was here*
I really don't believe dis story cos I don't think d woman will be stupid enough 2 eat out of d food she had poisoned with luv portion..pls read the Husband's statement very well, there is a possibility that the husband poisoned d soup...but again, wat do I know?? Its well...Estyasexy
ReplyDeleteThe hunter eventually became the hunted. In a lighter mood the soup looked sumptuous that the lady couldn't resist it. Too bad she is dead. Going diabolical doesn't pay.
ReplyDeleteso sad. God please heal sick marriages.
ReplyDeleteOyibo
Sick marriages ke??
DeleteOh ok ooooo...
98%of marriages must encounter sicknesses incase u don't know,
D only thing women should always do is dat....make sure u ae always at d gaining side not d loosing side incase shit happens.....u can move on easily.....
Bbeen married for 11 yrs, so we know these things....
Not dat most women can't move on or wouldn't love to move on....but because most of them are already at loss,so moving on will be so hard...for some suicidal sef...
Tufiakwa!!!

ReplyDeleteThis story doesn't add up, idonbilivit. How did they know the food was poisoned? Abi they followed her to the herbalist shrine.
ReplyDeleteOr is it the non existing forensic scientist that found that out?
R.I.P to the dead.
Don't set fire in a bush cos u never know how far it will go. Evil done has a way of backfiring.
ReplyDeleteAna m ekwu onye emegbuna nwa madu onye emegbuna nwa mmuo. As much as I am zero intolerant to infidelity, murdering one spouse isn't the answer nor jinxing he/she to "love" you. Let the idiots be and yes DON'T WASTE UR ENERGY PRAYING for a lost idiot. Stop sweating for them.
ReplyDeleteNa wa ooo...am gobsmacked.
ReplyDeleteWomen are the architect of their misfortunes @ times...Personal hygiene is very vital for a wife who wants good, undiluted sexual exploration with DH..I hate body odour and I coach any young gal I see who looks unkempt 2me...Some babes look flashy on the outside(Brazillian hair, expensive bags and phones) but when u move closer to them, amidst the cologne,u will perceive a strong stench..Am sorry to derail dis post buh I wanted to say this.
Wash your pants, shave ur armpit/pubic hair, use good deodorants, wash ur vagina" properly with warm water ONLY except the sides of the labia that needs lil soap.Smell nice for that man.
He meets a lot of ladies outside, some are desperate, flashy, classy, clean both inside and outside...If he's gonna pay attention to them or not ain't the issue. But the fact dat he comes home to a hair net wearing, wrapper tying woman. Smelling of ogiri and onions plus a foul odour down there? Mbanu!!! (I understand that being a wife, cook, mum etc ain't easy)..
I feel sad abt dis development...Like seriously, do people still visit native doctors?..What happened to seeking an older person's advice if u feel neglected by ur hubby..Wat happened to talking with him and finding out if there are some tins u aint doing right?..Perhaps,this wouldn't have happened...it's well
Ps:pls ignore my typos..Thanks!!!
Chinwenmeri.blogspot.com
Lol....like my husband always tells me he hate wrapper tieing on d chest...
DeleteMe I go just laff for my mind say see dis Ibo man....
Am sure you are not married and also full of crap. A man does not need an excuse to cheat
DeleteHahahahaha. @Okija wife...
DeleteMaybe u should do wat ur DH said...wear bum short and a sexy transparent top(without bra) instead wen he's around...lmao
Haahahah..
DeleteTransparent top without bra ke?? With my big booby! Hahahhaa
This story doesn't add up, idonbilivit. The husband killed her. How did they know the food was poisoned? Abi they followed her to the herbalist shrine.
ReplyDeleteOr is it the non existing forensic scientist that found that out?
R.I.P to the dead.
Just like that? And then she died.
ReplyDeleteAll lies!
The man still has some explaining to do.
Na d olofo jati jati man kill her...period!!!

ReplyDeleteShe threatened to make him impotent?? ...there maybe just a twist to this story.Stella Kork, that egusi looks inviting though.
Eeeyah, Nemesis
ReplyDeleteI don't believe this story one bit, na who tell dem say d soup get poison? Let's start investigation from there

ReplyDeleteRIP to d dead.
The soup looks yummy...the story doesn't add up...how did they know it's love portion?is it the native doctor that narrated the story to them?there's more to this..if only the dead could come to life and say what went down...RIP Woman...
ReplyDeletewow.... karma is a real bitch!
ReplyDeleteThere is something fishy about this story. Anyway, the man is now free to run after more women
ReplyDeleteThis Story Doesnt Sound "Right"
ReplyDeleteRIP Woman.
I honestly think this man killed his wife.
ReplyDeleteThe wife cant defend herself anymore.
Women,whenever marriage gets deadly,move out.
The society will always believe a mans story than that of the woman.
I dont believe dis story. The husband shld be a suspect.
ReplyDeleteThere are many sides to this story.
ReplyDeleteWho spoke on the late woman's behalf..
May they have little respect for the dead
Woman RIP
Her husband should be held! He killed his wife to pave way for his mistress!! What kind of cock & bull story is this?! He claims to have met her dead but he knew about her visit to the juju man and also the poisoned egusi. This is crap I tell u! He's lying!!

ReplyDeleteHer husband killed her.
ReplyDeleteThis story doesn't sound right.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Nollywood film.Woman u just kil yasef for nothing choi!..now d man go get enof time to fly.Body odour turns men off women 99% !!! women pls take note.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe this story. Was there any autopsy that was carried out on the deceased and it confirmed she died of poison?
ReplyDeleteHow did the man get to know all these?
Akuko uwa
That man should be arrested and questioned. It is so easy for people to believe she killed her husband just because Juju was mentioned.
XOXO MYSTERY
How are we sure she was not killed by the husband? How will somebody go do charm against her husband and will eat the charmed food herself? there is more to this story. The husband has questions to answer. If it was a woman that came up with this kind allegation, the husband's family will be on her throat by now. God help us women..
ReplyDeleteStella, na who come tell the husband what the native doctor said, is it the dead wife or her spirit, this story get as e b sha. I no sight you for this one
ReplyDeleteWhen the pharmacist died, his wife was the first suspect and arrested..... Now a woman dies...she is the 'causer' of her death!!!! Hmm, her soul rest in peace... She stinks he says? Did he not notice that before he married her? And if it happened after marriage, could he not tell her loving and help her find solution? Finding excuse for his acts!!!
