President Jonathan Condemns AL-Shabab Attack On Kenyan University

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE

PRESIDENT JONATHAN CONDEMNS AL-SHABAB ATTACK ON KENYAN UNIVERSITY

President Goodluck Jonathan extends heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kenya and to the families of those who died today in the gruesome terrorist attack on the Garissa University College in Kenya.

President Jonathan utterly condemns the deliberate targeting of innocent persons, schools and other soft targets by terrorists as such atrocious, despicable and barbaric acts of violence ought to have no place in any  civilized society.

The President assures President Uhuru Kenyatta and the brotherly people of Kenya that Nigeria stands in full solidarity with them as they come to grips once again with the aftermath of another heinous terrorist attack on their country.
Nigeria, President Jonathan affirms, will continue to work with Kenya, other African countries and the international community to rid the world of all terrorist groups.

The President believes that the attack on the Kenyan University and other similar atrocities across the world must strengthen and solidify the resolve of the global community to take more urgent and co-ordinated actions to speedily defeat the agents of global terror.

  1. There is hypocrisy and double standard everywhere and it is a very big shame. The world is shouting and expressing shock because Al shabab people killed 147 innocent people. But every one kept quiet when Buhari incited his northern muslim hausa fulani brothers into slaughtering thousands of innocent christians and southerners. Are the lives of those innocent 147 kenyans more precious than the lives of thousands innocent nigerian christians killed by Buhari and his supporters in 2011?

    2. Why do u keep saying Buhari incited those dat killed?i need u to understand that Buhari has a strong followership base in d north dat is almost like worship!the poor,d masses just love him,not for money he gives them but cos of his kindness, uprightness and listening ears he gives them whenever they come to him:so in essence he's like a god of d poor northerners, and wouldn't dey be loyal thereby being happy or sad at his win or loose?i tell u dat Buhari is not there, nor does he advise them to do that, just extreme loyalists!
For eg,dat evening when Jona conceded defeat and everyone was happy,we were passing by a Gwarimpa 1stt avenue, abuja, this area has village settlement and a market around it,do u believe these loyalists of Buhari(they were mostly mai ruwa dem, shoe makers, okada and keke napep riders)they blocked d road jubilating and shouting Sai Baba!,infact u should smile at them if wan leave there quick.lol!and as a lover of Baba dat I am too,i had to even dash dem money to move the ministry!we are celebrating our victory ke!lol!
Now,on d flip side,if it were d other way round,i bet u dese same pple will be d ones to carry weapons on dat samee street revolting!Buhari does not even know these pple or what deyv been up to,so if they go violent,it won't be fair to put d blame on him.so pls thiink before u talk, inasmuch as I understand u pple are now opposition,so bad belle is allowed!hahaha

  2. Those Al shabab guys are not worse that buhari and his northern muslim suppoters that slaughtered thousands of christians in 2011.Uptil this moment,Buhari has not condemed the 2011 post election massacre.Nigeria will regret electing such a wicked man. Were it to be in a developed country,Buhari would be serving his life sentence now.Africa will continue to remain backward until we learn to stand up against evil.

    1. Proof?
      So you have any proof?
Do you have any audio or video of him saying people should be slaughtered? Or any proof where he said he will slaughter US all?

Like they haven't been killing people before 2011
The north has been in war from the time of obj. I know how many times obj came down to the north to bargain with Boko haram because I was in the north that time. So y'all should chill and say what you knks

  3. Buhari's suppoters will like to paint Buhari as a saint. But we all know buhari is an evil wicked old man.He dont mind killing thousands of innocent people to achieve his selfish political ambition. We all know Buhari would have called out his northrn muslim hsusa-fulani into the street to start killing innocent people as he did in 2011.A person like buhari should be treated like an outcast by civilized people. The victory of Buhari is a triumph of evil over good.

    5. An explosion near a bus station in the northeast Nigerian city of Gombe killed at least five and injured 15 others, witnesses told AFP on Thursday, in an attack that bore the hallmarks of Boko Haram.

“We had an explosion outside the motor park (bus station) this evening around 8:30 pm (1930 GMT) which killed five people and injured 15 others,” said Muhammad Garkuwa, a drivers’ union official.

“The explosion was from an explosive left by a woman in her handbag beside a bus waiting to convey passengers to Jos,” he said in an account supported by a nearby food seller.

The attack is the latest in a string of similar explosions against so-called “soft targets” such as busy bus stations and crowded markets in the restive northeast, which has been hit for the last six years by Boko Haram Islamists.

The group has been pushed out of captured territory in Yobe, Borno and Adamawa states since February by a four-nation coalition of troops from Nigeria, Niger, Chad and Cameroon.

    6. Linda Eze if only you don't spend all of your time on stella's blog you would have known there was a bomb blast in Gombe yesterday... Unfortunately our Condemner-in-chief Dr GEJ did not do the usual condemnations.

If we were not so plagued with incompetence and inability to fight our own demons, Nigeria would have sent out troops to help the Kenyan govt...afterall we still claim to be giants of Africa.

    1. They don't listen to news and they come to blogs to spill trash. There has been an attack this week by Boko Haram and you are here saying since Buhari was elected no attack. Buhari isn't even president yet and people are asking him to start the change he promised. Issssh

      Delete
  19. Those saying Jonathan only condemns are very silly. Is he the President of Kenya? Incase you have not noticed, Boko Haram is almost history even before your Buhari won the election, thanks to President Jonathan and the joint military offensive against them. Is there still any town or city controlled by Boko Haram? Buhari will come and take the glory now that he came in stopped Boko Haram.
