Kunle Afolayan Apologises, Deletes Careless Tweets

Kunle Afolayan has deleted the careless and misguided tweets he yesterday shared, accusing Igbo people of being behind piracy and asking the wrath of God to strike them, further heating the already tensed atmosphere after the tribalistic speech made by Lagos monarch, Oba Akiolu went viral.

He tenders his apologies but his fans who are deeply angered and disappointed are having none of it, they instead fired back at him.

His colleagues in the industry; Charles Novia, Uche Jombo and Alibaba also weighed in on the matter.

Here are the tweets....

I guess he chose the wrong timing and wrong words to express his pain but he has apologised.God has forgiven him,so who are you to continue throwing stones?.

I also urge the Oba of Lagos and his PR team to apologise for the viral comment he made...A brave man never misses an Opportunity to heal the pain he caused.
All these people with Diarhea mouth should realise that the times are too sensitive right now and Nigeria is going through a transition that is sensitive to all tribes.

Please let peace reign...Nigeria will not break up no matter how much any evil doer tries!.

    1. I use to love Kunle.
Was so happy when he won awards at the AMVCA. See me dancing and clapping for him.

But from henceforth, he is an enemy.
Any one who hates on the Igbo's as a tribe is an enemy.
      I regret ever celebrating him!
I wish him all the evil he wishes the blessed Ndi Igbo.

    1. Thank you Linda! Truth is we are individuals. If you have any issue with anyone, take it out on them personally, not their entire tribe.

The Oba and kunle didn't even try at all. But that's their own thought, not the thought of every Yoruba. We all have different opinions please.

  34. I love everything you wrote Stella, everything. I agree with you. This is a very crucial time, time to tread carefully. I'm Yoruba but I love the igbos like kilode. The language, the people, I have more Igbo friends too. Let's all stop with this tribalistic talk. We are bigger than this. It's well

    ReplyDelete
  35. An Oba does not apologise for any wrong. It's a sign of weakness from him. Don't expect any.

Kunle just happened to bore out his frustrations the same day one of his Oba brought to limelight, the extent of his bigotry and tribalism, and yet, Kunle claims this is coincidental? I very much doubt.

Nigeria can never be one. It's an illusion.

I'll never pay for any movies from Kunle again.

  45. Still on Lagos Elections, some of our Igbo friends and brothers are complaining of Marginalization, isn't it? It is high time we begin to put the records straight and clear all the misinformation going around. In my opinion, Lagos State has been magnanimous and accomodating enough which I don't think anyone should be crying wolf where there's none. Putting the records straight: (1). The Chief Executive Officer of LASTMA Transportation in person of Mr Young Arabamen hails from Esan Central LGA, Efo State. (2) Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning & Budget, Mr Ben Akabueze has served in this capacity since January, 2007 having first been appointed by Governor Tinubu and later re-appointed for Two terms by Governor Fashola. (3) The former Publicity Secretary for ACN and currently Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr Joe Igbokwe is obviously not a Yoruba man either. It may interest you to also know that Lagos State has been accommodating to such an extent of allowing Mr Joe Igbokwe double as the General Manager, Lagos State Infrastructures Maintenance & Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA). (4). Sometimes in 2013, when a lady Uzoma Okere was brutalized by a Yoruba Naval Officer, it was Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola who stood up, prosecuted the matter till the lady was compensated. My dear People, Lagos State has moved beyond ethnic divides and I don't think we should allow the shallow minded elements trying to use this as a tool for getting votes succeed in their evil bids. For continuous co-existence in Lagos

  51. Dear Lagosian,

Yoruba,s are very decent and reasonable people. No tribe will entertain on their land what is going on in Lagos.

We all condemn the statement of OBA AKIOLU. But let ask ourselves one important question, WHY IS OBA AKIOLU ANGRY WITH IGBOS?

    My answers are:

    1. I WILL ELEVATE EZE NDIGBO TO THE STATUS OF OBA OF LAGOS - JIMI AGBAJE.

    2. IGBO WILL DETERMINE WHO RULES LAGOS- IFEANYI UBAH

    3. LAGOS IS NO MAN'S LAND.- IFEANYI UBAH DURING TAN CAMPAIGN.

    4. IGBO DEVELOPED AND CONTROL LAGOS- JIMI AGBAJE DURING GEJ CAMPAIGN IN AKWA IBOM

    5. WE MUST PRODUCE THE NEXT DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF LAGOS- EZE NDIGBO

    MY QUESTIONS TO IGBOS,

    1. CAN OBI OF ONITHSA ACCEPT ALL THE ABOVE MENTIONED?

    2. CAN EMIR OF KANO ACCEPT ....?

    3. DO YOU HAVE ANY SINGLE TRIBE IN YOUR CABINET IN THE EAST?

    4. CAN ANY TRIBE CLAIM ONITHSA OR ABA TO BE NO MAN,S LAND?

    5. CAN OBI OF ONITHSA ACCEPT THE ELEVATION OF SARKIN HAUSA IN ONITHSA TO OBI STATUS?

My conclusion: We have been living together as brothers for years in peace. You must respect our tradition and institutions.Ifeanyi Ubah should stop jumping around Lagos beating drums of war.

    GOD BLESS YORUBA AND IGBO
