Doctors In House Section..

*Screaming*....Doctors!!!

GETTING PREGNANT AGAIN AFTER PLACENTA ABRUPTIO

Please I just need the advices of people on your blog preferably via doctors in the house. I just lost my baby at 39 weeks gestation It was that week that I was due to deliver. I really cried and I felt like dying but I thank God for my life because it was the case of placenta abruptio I really thank God for the doctors at UCH.

My main question now is how soon is it to get pregnant again. Most people said it is better to get pregnant as soon as possible, some said it is better to wait for at least three months or a year I am so confused. Age is no longer on my side. I am in my thirties. I just need advices from people. Thanks.

  4. It's better to get pregnant immediately. I lost my baby at birth in Feb 14, fast-forward to this year, God wiped my tears and I had another baby the same month. Nothing can be more fulfilling and healing, even though u can never forget the other baby but u will be comforted with the new one. Hope this helps u dear.

  7. Sorry about your loss dear, your body will need time to heal before another baby, give it like six months but speak to your doctor, he knows your history and would be in the best position to advise.

You miracle is in the way...

  8. Thank GOD for your life , so sorry about your baby. Please it seems logical for you to wait at least 3months for your body to recuperate. God will continue to be with you.

  9. It depends on your mode of delivery after the abruptio. If you had a vaginal delivery, it is safe to get pregnant immediately. but if you had a c/section, i'll recommend waiting at least 6 months or else the obgyn would probably recommend another c/section if the interval between deliveries is too short. hope this helps. (p.s I'm a general practitioner starting specialist training soon)

  20. Get pregnant as soon as possible because one of the causes of PLACENTAl ABRUPTION is that, with older mum-to-be there is increase risk with age.

Unfortunately, you can't necessarily prevent a placental abruption from happening. But some step can be taken to reduce the chances of it recurring.

**Go to all your antenatal appointment, so that your
Midwife can ensure your blood pressure is under control. She may prescribe you with drugs to lower your blood pressure if it's too high.

**Protect your belly physically by wearing a seat belt no matter how slowly you are travelling.

**There are lifestyle changes you can make to protect yourself and your baby. Don't smoke, or stay close to someone who smoke , as this increase the risk of placental abruption and other pregnancy complications.

**All the very best in your future pregnancies**

  28. Dear Madam, I am truly sorry about your loss, but you should have asked the doctor that attended to you at UCH cause he/she has your medical report and all. You should also know that what applies for one does not apply for all,so talk to your Doctor to know what works for you. I pray God grants your heart desire in Jesus name.
