Doctors In House Section.

Hmmmmm......

NO PERIOD AFTER IUCD
..I'm a lady of 29years and I had an IUCD placed inside of me after a minor operation for Ashermann's syndrome in September and I removed in January after my period.Till now I've not had a period after I removed the IUCD in January and I'm not pregnant.
Please doctors in the house is this normal?if not what are the steps I can take?
Thanks and God bless you all...

    1. That asherman is so difficult to treat, it keeps coming back. In my case I've had hysteroscopy twice but my period is not up to 2 days. The first one I used folley's catether and later IUCD but d cars still came back. I went for another treatment my there as I talk to you my period is regular like clock watch but is not up to 2 days.

I even wanted to send mail to SDK to publish in doctor's section to find out if there is natural or herbal way to remove those scars. The doctor said d scanty period is because the womb is covered by scar tissue and those areas cannot shed anything. Only the food areas shed every month.

But if I knew I will turn out dis way all the money wasted in hysteriacopt, I would have used it to look for a surrogate and do IVF using my egg and Dh sperm but implanting on a surrogate.

My advice to u is go back to ur doc and complain maybe he will do another one but. Just know that the success rate is very low especially in Naija but if u can afford it travel to USA to do it but first google it so u can join d support group and get referred to a good doc over there.

They are much better at it than doctors here.

Me , I am just waiting to get enough money to pay a surrogate to carry for me. Ashermans can be a bastard- very difficult to treat.

Please if anyone knows how to treat it maybe the local hand insertion way by Ijaw women, can u please comment under my post? Thanks all. Please I didn't go bak to proofread b4 posting so please forgive my typos

  24. It will still come,is just that your body is yet adapt to the removal of the IUCD. I hate the thing mehn... I had it inserted after I gave birth and bleeding did not stop.it stopped the bleeding tho,but makes my period rush like tap water and it removed itself due to the heavy flow.... That was the end of the heavy flow and non-stop bleeding.

  32. You still have Asherman's. The treatment did not work. There is another treatment available using Foley's catheter instead of IUCD. Ask your doctor about it. Good luck.

  34. Poster, it probably means you still have some scarring remaining after the surgery. Iucd is not the best. In fact, no asherman's syndrome specialist will recommend that. Your doctor should have used a Ballon catheter. It keeps you uterus in shape while you heal from the surgery and I hope you were also given estrogen tablets for 30 days starting from the day of the surgery and progesterone tablets for the last 10 days of the 30 days. The estrogen builds up the endometrium in order to heal the womb while the progesterone helps to shed the endometrium after it has been built up by the estrogen. Anyway, I'm guessing your doctor is in Nigeria. Asherman's syndrome is a serious issue and should be treated by an asherman's syndrome specialist. Go to asherman.org for more info. Cheers!

  36. Apart from the adhesiolysis and IUCD insertion, you were supposed to be commenced on hormonal med to help regenerate the lining of your uterus. If this isn't the case, maybe u had anoda adhesion formed. If u had hormonal med, maybe u would need further testing for other causes of an ovulation. Will advise u see a gynaecologist
