Most Effective Cure For MUMPS
Good morning StellaKork, please can you kindly ask Bv's what the best and most effective cure for mumps is? I'm basically bedridden, can't move my neck/head and I can't go out as well cos I'm highly contagious at this point.
I've checked the internet but since it's a viral infection just like catarrh,i have to wait for my immune system to fight it.(i'm also taking Ibuprofen prescribed by a doc to ease the pain, but i'm still in a lot of pain)I know as Nigerians,we always have a local cure for such things.
Abeg Bvs, help a sister!!!!
Thanks Stella!
Mumps?going to google
Sorry dear, I'm not a doctor but I heard their are fruits and drugs that can boost the immune system. Don't know the name of the fruits or drugs, maybe u should find out

Mumps? Lol. I remember what it is now. I didn't have to visit google again. In my dialect it's called 'njakabem' lol. There's this song they believed if you sing, it will go away. All those superstitions sha. I know it to be very painful. And usually you're not supposed to share cutlery with anybody 'cos I hear it passes through saliva.
DeleteSorry oh. That's one thing that is as painful as tooth ache or even more painful.
God is still the permanent healer, receive your sound health Inshallahu

ReplyDeleteWhat are the usual symptoms of mumps?
ReplyDeleteSwelling and pain of one or both parotid glands are the usual main symptoms. The parotid glands are the main salivary glands. They are just below the ears and you cannot normally see or feel them. The salivary glands make saliva which drains into the mouth.
The mouth may feel dry.
Chewing and swallowing may be sore.
High temperature (fever), headache, feeling tired and being off food may develop for a few days. These symptoms may occur before you develop swelling of your parotid gland.
Mild tummy (abdominal) pain may occur.
The swelling of the parotid glands usually lasts for 4-8 days. Mumps is normally a mild illness, but complications sometimes occur. This is why immunisation is important.
There may be no symptoms, or only very minor ones. It is thought that about 3 in 10 people who contract the mumps virus have no symptoms. Rarely, complications alone occur without the usual symptoms occurring first.
The immune system makes antibodies during the infection. These clear the virus and then provide lifelong immunity. It is therefore very rare to have more than one episode of mumps.

ReplyDeleteWhat is mumps?
ReplyDeleteMumps is an infection caused by a type of virus called a paramyxovirus. It is very contagious and spread in saliva, the same way as a cold or flu. This means it can be caught from an infected person coughing, sneezing, etc. It can also be caught from touching infected objects - for example, door handles.
God will heal u.. it's well

Within a week, it will disappear. Lol, I remember when I had mine, I looked like a bloated frog cus my cheeks and neck were swollen. I was so scared I had to do x-ray, I googled, went to 3 different hospitals and was wasting money up and down because of fear. Meanwhile it's a minor ish. ReplyDeleteDo you have toothache?
ReplyDeleteIt could be infection from the tooth that caused it?
XOXO MYSTERY
Wow, you have mumps? There is no cure for it, just allow it to run its course. Apply cold compress to the swelling, use acetaminophen and ibuprofen for the pain.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.
Dont know anything about it, I will google it too
ReplyDeleteLet the mumps run its course. As far as I know, there is no cure. Continue taking the pain reliever. As you mentioned ibuprofen(Motrin, brand name
ReplyDeletealeve or advil), I know say you dey Yankee. So for the rise in temp or fever that comes with it, take an antipyretic like Tylenol except it is contraindicated for you. Get lots of rest. If you are in Yankee as I suspect & have children, they must have taken the MMR(measles, mumps &rubella) vaccine. So you will not spread the virus, except for your hubby or partner. If he has had mumps b4, then he will not be re-infected :cause once you've had it that's it. Your body builds an immunity to it. It is rare to have mumps twice. Except some thing else blocks your salivary glands thereby presenting with similar symptoms. E.g some form of tonsillitis.
When you heal & you dey Yankee, go chook all the vaccines recommended. Africo! we no dey hia word. If you had then, you would have also taken the MMR vaccine.
I pray God almighty who is the numero uno (#1)healer wey ee pass all vaccine go touch you to speedy recovery. Amin.
Sorry dear, it has happened to me before. I used one strong antibiotics (augmentin).
ReplyDeleteHow do we help u when we don't even know the meaning of mumps, Na u sabi.
ReplyDeletePlease ask someone to chew bitter cola and pour it there. You will get relieved
ReplyDeletesorry about the pain darl, but mump is caused by a virus and there is no known drug for it, just take pain killers for the pain and let your immune system do the rest.
ReplyDeleteHi poster i wld recommend a local treatment for you...do you know bee (not honeybee) that builds its next in abandoned rooms or house...get it soak it in small water and rub it all over the areas affected...that shd work for u temporarily...
ReplyDeleteUse augmentin,it works well
ReplyDeleteI cant believe u are taking just ibruofen for mumps. I had dis stuff wen I was young. I was on daily injection for 5days. Mumps is a serious thing o, got it from my cousin back then and he infected all we kids in d house, even dou we took precautionary measures. GO TO CLINIC..............FOREVER 16

Mumps in little boys especially I hear can affect their fertility later in life as adults, if not treated properly. Sign of the cross, it is well!
