EDD.....

WORRIED MUM TO BE....

Good day Stella, I am an ardent reader of your blog and will be glad if I can get some good advice here. The issue is I have passed my EDD ie expected date for delivery of my baby. I went to the hospital and was told to keep waiting for another 2weeks.

I have been trying natural ways of inducing labour in order to avoid being induced at the hospital which I heard is usually more painful and traumatising than natural labour: I tried lots of walking, castor oil, sex, pineapple, membrane sweep yet no results.

I am so fed up as I can hardly move around or carry myself anymore.            Please mothers in the house, who have been through this should share their experience and also advice me on what else to do that can induce labour naturally. Thank you SDK.

    1. Eeyah, would have sworn by membrane sweep, but you've tried this already; i guess everyone is different.

Don't know where you're based, but if you can get hold of raspberry leaf tea or the tablets, works wonders. Pele, you shall deliver safely by God's grace.

After being induced and was in labour for 10 hours and the babies were not still coming , I ended up doing cs. But it all ended in praise. Madam it will end in praise okay. God is still on the throne.

    6. You "drinked" it, eyah kpele

  10. U mentioned castor oil alone but try it with 7up just a glass of 7up and I tell u within 15mins u should start feeling some discomfort

  11. I had the same issue. The best option is to get induced in the hospital, though its painful but its best option. U need to avoid getting the baby depressed. I walked n climbed staircase for 3hrs. I was induced by drip n some tablet inserted into my vjay. D well being of your baby is more important. Don't stay @ home, go to d hospital.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Please do what you can for now and if nothing happens go and do your induction it has to be done ok as the reward is for life x good luck

  13. I'm sure you are expecting a baby girl. She's already feeling comfy in your belly. I will tell you what my mum told my sis. Exercise wella to make her feel uncomfortable.

That's how girls are in nature, they like enjoyment with no stress whatsoever.

  16. Relax ur mind sister, why are we always anxious? God who planted the seed will harvest it at the right time. But if you want to induce labour, stimulate ur nipples and that will rush oxytocin to ur womb but make sure you have a recent scan showing ur baby has descended. This will prevent unnecessary labour pains while ur baby is still up. Pray dear. That's first mum's anxiety.

    1. Very right Emerald. Poster stimulate your nipples. I had my first daughter @ 41 + 6days, almost 42weeks. Emerald is right about the descending baby. I didn't know about this and just stimulated my nipple, the labour pain I experienced was so much, I labored for good 55hours. So my dear don't worry yourself, baby will come when the time is right for him/her.

  21. I tried after I had passed my edd and it worked effectively cause contraction began immediately. Do u experience orgasm?,if yes,let ur hubby suck or nipples while caressing ur clitoris,he doesn't have to penetrate when u experience orgasm labour will keep cause I tried it and viola my baby came some hours later.Safe delivery.

  22. Madam, labour pain is the same.whether induced or natural birth. Please go and birth your child. There are inherent risks associated with d waiting.4 instance my sac broke long b4 I was induced at exactly 40th day of the 40th week.
Or if U opt for CS,please birth the child abeg. I advise U seek 2nd opinion with a good gynecologist and scan as well.
    Safe delivery.Nkmama

Everything will be fine and you will come back here for a testimony.

  32. poster dont stress yourself with fear, whether induction or natural birth process labour is painful, but you need to stop all this trail n error tins you re doing. If your drs said wait then do that but dont do things that may harm your baby, in all my pregnancies i didnt experience this but be assured you will carry your baby ijn amen.

    1. The puking will stop and your appetite will increase after your first trimester at 14 weeks. But note that all pregnancies aint the same.

      Delete
    2. There is a drug they can give you to stop the vomitting. Pls ask your gynecologist. Pls do so fast. You nid to get strong fast. If I keep vomiting u will keep losing weight... Do d needful. I have 2babies, I know what I am saying. It's not a fun time but u can help yourself... Good luck.

  38. Orgasm actually induces labour. Try having lots of sex with hubby or please yourself to powerful orgasms cause it causes the uterus to contract thereby inducing labour contractions.

  39. Eat often, not too much at once.
Keep crackers biscuits by your bedside, start your day with that before u even brush your teeth.
drink water with ice cubes, it helps.
your morning sickness should subside soon, u are almost past your first trimester.

    all the best

  40. ADD INTERCOURSE TO THE LIST OF THINGS YOU ARE DOING.THIS IS BECAUSE SEEN CONTAINS PROSTAGLANDINS WHICH IS WHAT IS USED FOR INDUCTION OF LABOUR.
YOU CAN HAVE MEMBRANE SWEEPS EVERY THREE DAYS.
WHERE THESE ALL FAIL,GO FOR INDUCTION BEFORE 42 WEEKS GESTATION.
    GOOD LUCK.THANK ME LATER.
