HAVING FRIENDS WITH SKELETONS IN THEIR CUPBOARD AND THE CONSEQUENCES

Hello Stella, I can’t tell you how much I’m addicted to your blog but it’s a must for my daily routine.

This one is a true life story and I’ve been trying so hard to get over it, but only God knows why it’s still hurting. Forgive me but story long.

I met this girl when I got to school on 2008 along with 4 other girls and we’ve all been bffs since then. We were so close to the extent that I’d go to her family house and spend my holiday’s, we stayed in the same compound in school but different blocks, she used to tell me everything, and when I say everything, I mean everything she couldn’t tell the other girls.

Fast forward to Dec 2011, I just broke up with my boyfriend and partial hubby of 2yrs, I couldn’t deal, so I told my girlfriend to take me out and get me drunk so I could forget my worries, little did I know that was the beginning of my problem. Girlfriend decided to invite one of her naughty friends I wasn’t so comfortable with to party with us, but since it was to have fun, I couldn’t care less. We went to a very popular club and got a drink, so we decided to tag it “ladies night out” (hmmm…). 


We were done drinking and decided it was time to call it a day at about 3am, I called a cab guy I know and he was due to arrive in 20mins, only for girlfriends bestie to say she knows the owner of the hotel that has the club and we could spend the night for free (nothing is free in this WORLD). She introduced us to the bestie of hotel owner, only for my girlfriend to start flirting and romancing this uncle unknown.

We finally got a room (thank God, my heels were killing me) and I was high by now and just wanted to pass out and wake up the next day with a continuation of the heart break. Uncle unknown followed us to the room and refused to leave, then I knew something was up, naughty friend left us saying she was on her period while me and my girlfriend stayed put in the room. I felt the room heavy so I excused myself and went to the toilet, only for uncle to say 200k each for the night (my ear stand). 


I Went and came back to see my friend undressed with uncle and making out, I was confused, taken aback, any word you can think of, this was the first time I was experiencing this (girl sleeping with older men for money) so it was new to me. She told me to undress and join them, and I was like why would I, (not because I didn’t want the money, but for every temptation like this, I remember my promise to my late dad in his dying bed, and walk away, before the devil strikes). 


Told her I wasn’t and she told me to get out, which I quietly did, still confused though. The next thing I heard was a loud cry and my girlfriend ran out of the room NAKED, What happened I asked, omo na better slap answer me o, (what I do na). The next day police came to my house saying they were looking for girlfriend, she suddenly showed up after hours of search with someone’s dress and said I drugged her and planned with someone rape her for 200k.

So, I called girlfriend’s naughty friend and uncle unknown through girlfriend’s naughty fellow and he said nothing like that happened, the phone was put on speaker so everyone would hear, he got confused too and said her mood changed after I said I wasn’t interested and left the room, and that was where she started crying that I had betrayed her, I later got to know that uncle unknown was a commissioner in the state, so they decided to let the matter die. 


Uncle unknown thought it right to appease everyone involved with cash, so he told us to gather in a hotel, but since I didn’t trust anyone anymore, I couldn’t go, make another story no go enter. Later heard uncle gave my girlfriend and her naughty friend 200k each as settlement, and they collected, I only asked him to book me a flight back home to Lagos so I can finish the crying. 


My girlfriend still insisted she was unconscious of her environment the night before and that ME drugged her, she cursed and cursed brought a knife and said she would stab me, only for her naughty friend to later find out that it was all drama, as she had been sleeping around with different men, and I (village mumu) was still believing she was a good girl. This is d same girl that I follow to do a D and C when she got pregnant and didn’t want anyone to know, and I never said a word.

 She started being friendly after the incident, but I knew things would never ever remain the same again, and I still can’t forgive her after so long. I’m no angel o, but I have principles, what I can’t do, I can’t do. Now my question is how do I forgive her, because I have cried my eyes out, even prayed tire, but I’ve not been able to.

I am too shocked for words!
