Lagos State All Peoples Congress gubernatorial candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode has just been declared by INEC as the winner of the governorship election.
His strongest contender, Jimi Agbaje of People's Democratic Party has put a call across to him to congratulate him on his victory in the spirit of sportsmanship.
In other news, the incumbent governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola was captured on camera as he shared an embrace with the first lady when the news of Ambode's victory filtered in.

DeleteI listened to Agbaje and I was very impressed with his speech. He says he would no longer contest for the Governorship position again. And would rather serve his people in a different capacity since he's lost twice. I think that's a genuine spirit of a true leader. Its not a do or die matter.
With his impressive manifesto the sky is the beginning. I also had a good laugh when one of the political analysts on channels analysed Ambode. The guy said that he sees him as one who would frequently declare party holidays because he's a 'guy man' Loll
Also, I don't remember the guys name now, but he was frequented as a guest speaker on channels news during elections. A young chubby guy like this, I wish that the APC will grasp that guy;s intelligence and hire him as SA to the Presidency. The guy too smart ehn, as he gave apt analysis of all the candidates.

Classic hypocrisy and deception- why aren't we one now? not like we were ever one. You guys needed us then, so suddenly you have finished with us and it is time to dump us.
If you guys can't stand the Igbos, why dint you let them know in the early days when Lagos was the Nation's capital attracting all and sundry that they were simply guests, maybe they would have been forced to make all their investments in the East. No one can argue that Igbos haven't played a part in the commercial status that Lagos enjoys today.
It's also appalling when Yorubas come out and tag the Igbos 'traders' as if there are no modern enterprises either owned or supported by the Igbos. Even if they were just traders, who buys from them? I am yet to see an Igbo man who was given a land for free in Lagos, they all had to sweat for it.
I'm sorry to announce to the haters, the Igbos are going no where, you cannot wake up one day and tell people who have invested so much and contributed in the state's development to park and go. Lagos is owned by the Yorubas, I agree but we built it together.
As much as we want to go (because we too are tired of the hate), we cannot leave everything we have labored for behind. The earlier you realize we are always going to be in your faces, the better for all of us.
