I got this mail last night and didnt sleep the whole night cos i kept thinking what Ozi's mum is going through. She is presently in the UK waiting until her son is found before she returns to Nigeria.
The mail says
''Hi Stella,
Many Thanks from our family For including our search for Ozi in your blog previously. There isn't any joy as to his whereabouts as yet. I would like for you to once again publish this new update. Bellow is the news update link where you can see the last cctv footages. We the family continue to believe in God for his safe return.
May I add that, the Nigeria embassy in uk only agreed to send a man to Coventry with us once after we made series of contact with them and they weren't interested. Not until Ozi's mom physically went to the Nigeria house Uk, Did they accord her this 1time privilege. After that one time, they have neither called the Family nor have they shown any Further interest. This is why we Nigerians question what privileges we are entitled to as a citizen of that country (both home and abroad). Nigerian embassy made us feel like were begging for them to log the incident on There records.
I imagine what will the British government's role Be if a citizen goes missing in Nigeria. There will surely be a media frenzy and daily government explanations from the Nigerian government to the uk.
Sorry for the long mail. Can give more Details later. In the meantime help continue praying for Ozi's safe return''.
According to Conventry telegraph
Ozi Akerele, aged 24, of Richmond Street, Stoke, Coventry, is missing. He's a Nigerian student who has only been in the city for a few weeks.
Stretches of canals in Coventry are now being searched by police looking for a missing student who hasn’t been seen in over a month.
A spokesman for Coventry Police said the tactic wasn’t as a result of new information, but forms part of “routine inquiries” because Ozi Akerele was last seen near a canal.
The 24-year-old, who had only been in Coventry for a few days after coming to the city to start a course at Coventry University, was last spotted in Old Church Road,Foleshill, on January 31.
The road crosses the Coventry Canal.
Ozi, originally from the Nigerian capital city Abuja, has been missing since he went on a night out with friends.
He left a nightclub and instead of returning home to Richmond Street in Stoke he took a wrong turn and started walking up Foleshill Road.
Ozi was last seen around the top of Foleshill Road where he flagged down motorists
Efforts are continuing to track down Ozi, with police and the university publicising his disappearance.
Recently Coventry University asked for help finding the person who handed in Ozi’s access card 21 days after he went missing.
It’s understood that the discovery isn’t forming part of the police inquiry.
The university has come under fire from some students for not doing enough to find the Nigerian student – with some saying that emails have only just sent out asking for information.
In response to the claims made on Facebook a spokesman for the university responded by saying: “We care a great deal about the safety of our students, and that you feel you’re being kept informed about the wellbeing of fellow students – but it is important that everything we do is in close cooperation with the authorities to make sure information being released publicly is an accurate reflection of a developing police investigation.
“As we speak we’re doing our utmost to spread the word and raise awareness of Ozi’s disappearance, including posters and flyers across campus, emails to all students and shout-outs at the start of lectures.
“We’ll continue to do this in collaboration with the police and the students’ union for the foreseeable future.”
Anyone with information should call 101.
*Deep sigh*
OZI WHERE IN HEAVENS NAME ARE YOU?Your mum hurts and her eyes are all swollen from crying for you.
I pray he is found soon in Jesus name. Amen

I was just telling my sister about this case less than an hr ago, i live in Bristol and one 16yr old girl went missing here on feb 19, they totally shut down every media outlet with news of this girl's disappearance and was able to find her in just under a week although sadly dead.
DeleteHowever this boy's story has received little or no media coverage at allll...everyday i go on bbc and look for update on this boy and since 27th Feb there has been no news story about this boy, no one is remembering, simply because he is not white....later they will say there is no racism.
May God keep his mom and family strong thats all, here in the UK if someone is missing for over 48hrs the police automatically starts looking for a body, but there can always be miracles.
So sad! I pray for his safe return. I know the family from 12 Apostles cathedral in Abuja. Our prayers are with you
DeleteI think u are right, no media has spoking about this missing guy and it was not even on uk news.it was after he ozi went missing that te 16years old gilr went missing too but the found her dead body under 5 days and with full report every minutes till she was found.but when it comes too ozi issue nothing like that I pray they found him and alive.
DeleteExactly anon 13.23 I live in Glasgow and from the day tha girl went missing till her body parts were found there was wide media coverage and continual updates... As for Ozi nothing has really been done.. No much interest after all he is another African, #racialdiscriminationstillexists
DeleteOh what a sad story.
DeleteThis is what get should be engaging the UK about, on how best to search for this young lad. Not the pleading for clemency on behalf of drug barons. Kmt
Aisha Falode's case is still hanging. Gosh
It is well
ReplyDeleteThis is heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteI pray God leads this young man home.
Am I surprised at the Nigerian Embassy's nonchalant attitude towards this poor family's plight? Of course not.
The Nigerian government has no regard for its citizens both within and outside Nigeria.
Imagine a British student missing in Nigeria?
Dear God please locate him.
ReplyDeleteKeep him safe and bring him back.
Omg, my prayer is dat he returns safely
ReplyDeleteGod,pls show yourself worthy
Too sad! I pray he is found hale and hearty
ReplyDeleteI pray Ozi returns home safe n sound, Amen
ReplyDeleteGod please have mercy.
ReplyDeleteOzi pls come back, I pray he is found in good health. Why do nigerians always get missing abroad. Na wa o.
ReplyDeleteI pray they find him alive.
ReplyDeleteIts the same thing everywhere. Nigeria embassy in Malaysia does not even care if you exist. Ordinary to renew passport they will tell you to go back to Nigeria to renew.
ReplyDeleteSo sad, I hope he's found safe and sound soon. Can't even begin to imagine what the mum is going through
DeleteClick my name for all your celebration cakes and cupcakes, cheers
Pls, God have mercy ooo on him,,,bring him safely to d mum ooo,,,, God have mercy..
ReplyDeleteI pray they find him, Coventry is racist at times o. I live in Stoke in Coventry also.
ReplyDeleteOmg pls help this poor woman, I hope the boy himself is not into drugs!!! Just my opinion oo
ReplyDeleteYou are VERY stupid! Didn't you read how he missed his way?! Mtscheeewww.
DeleteOoooooooh.
ReplyDeleteI have tears in my eyes now
My heart bled when i read "took a wrong turn.
Lord, let your mercy shine on Ozy.
As mothers,we collectively hold our breasts n shout out in anguish. Father Lord, may whoever or whatever is holding Ozzy release him.
Lord,arise and work your miracles.
Amen.
Some days in the UK, he has already started clubbing
DeleteSame thing I was saying. We are not saying it's wrong to club but...I mean who makes friends in few weeks in a new city. He's a black man and should know better than to get into such a mess. These people don't care about us
Delete..may he be found IJN
Ozi will be found alive by God's grace. But I think these kids should face their studies and keep away from nightclubs. This is not the first time we are hearing stories like this.
ReplyDeleteTony you spoke my mind, in all honesty and humility these guys get to the uk and after 2/3wks they go out clubbing and all, If you are in your room/class/house will you get missing? If you must go, wait till you know the area well,@least give yourself 1mth/2mths to settle in...#Prayer For Ozi*, I watched a clip where his mum was crying and I wept...
DeleteSeems the guy is dead ooo... with all these crime stories that is shown on DSTV... that should be the only reason no one has heard from him since over a month ago... so so sad... I pray he is found alive sha but the odds are dim....
ReplyDeleteWow dis is scary and sad. I pray he is alive and I pray dey find him ASAP. May God lead dem to him.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I hope they find him soon
ReplyDeleteOh Lord pls let Ozi be found..God please

ReplyDeleteHMM GOD GO BRING AM BACK, BUT I KEEP SAYING AND TELLING PEOPLE AS FAR SAY I NO DEY LIVE FOR ABROAD NOTING GO MAKE ME RISK MY CHILDREN GO SCHOOL THERE EVEN IF A GUARDIAN IS THERE TO LOOK AFTER DEM..EXCEPT SAY I DEY LIVE THERE DEN DEM FIT SCHOOL THERE IF NOT..
ReplyDeleteWhy didn't he follow his friends back? Why did he have to go to a club just few weeks after getting to a new environment? I hope he didn't end up in a wrong place, I really pray he is found.. God help his mum
ReplyDeleteSame question on my mind, like my dad would say" hide yourself" especially wen u go to a strange place,be safety conscious , I pray he is found but if he is alive he shd have made contact with the police,it's a month now,I just pray n hope
DeleteSame thing I'm thinking,Nigerian will never Learn, it's a new place, new weather (the cold na die), you get here and start clubbing, a place you don't know, if you go stick together, go in group...He was probably drunk and left the club, his frnds didn't notice or didn't care, didn't realise he was missing until later.
DeleteHide yourself, I got to the uk and in abt 3wks or so, dem say basket mouth show very far from where I am, I refuse to go, cos how will I come back?do I know my way around? These whites are so wicked, they may even see him falling in the drench and walk past him afterall he's black, by 7am in the morning were pple not passing to work?So noone saw him, even the police can't find him?
If He was british or American, he would have been found, but they know how nigerians behave, always partying every night, so they would rather let us waste!!
Come back Ozi,#PrayerForOzi#...
Baba have mercy n let him be found Safe.. His poor Mom must be grieving.
DeleteHmmmmm...... deep sigh. May he be found healthy and alive.
ReplyDeleteGod of Abraham were ever ozi is pls direct is footsteps n bring him back safely ijn.
ReplyDeleteLord have Mercy....I just hope that he is fine. I can imagine what his mum is passing through right now.
ReplyDeleteOh God wherever Ozi is please protect him and may he be found, also strengthen his family especially his mum,as they all hope in you and await the good news of his return in Jesus mighty name...Amen
ReplyDeleteGod plz let him be found...
ReplyDeleteI just pray he is still alive and well.
ReplyDeleteI pray he's found soon and hearty
ReplyDeleteVote out jonathan,its that simple
Our citizen are not being properly acknowledged
If it was the son of a politician, trust me,d UK would have been turned upside down seeking to know his where about
And to think nigerian ambassador to d UK hasn't done anything concrete
It's such a shame
This is why we ask for change
ReplyDeleteLet's March for Buhari and get our selves out of this mess mr goody goody shoeless has put us into
This is not the place nor time for this.
DeletePls not now ist GEJ that stole the lad? Dont joke with sensitive ish abeg. This our embassies sef what do they think their job describtion include by the way? Evey naija abroad that has had course to deal with them have one negative thing to say WHY? Pls learn from how your host country treat their citizens and copy abi na only bad we de copy?
DeleteLord have mercy on this family! Pls just have mercy! Nigerian embassy???#No words#!
ReplyDeleteI pray he is found hale and hearty
ReplyDeleteGOD please help them locate OZI....if OZi purposely went away, may he be restless where ever he is until he contacts his mum.
ReplyDelete#Nwanyi mbaise
Chai! Poor woman.
ReplyDeleteThe chances of his safe return are getting slimmer as each tomorrow comes, but we must keep hope alive. I join my faith with his family, I hope they find him soon.
This our dear country na all man for himself and God for us all. The change we're asking for needs to start from the mind individually before spreading to other areas of our lives and society.
I'm not a pessimistic knowing case of missing person in UK especially foreigners, the parent should prepare their mind for the worst
ReplyDeleteHope he is found
ReplyDeleteOh dear!
ReplyDeleteOh my God!!..*tears*...I almost ran mad and died a thousand times d day my last kid bro and d baby of the house got missing for few hours ooo(he was sent on an errand around d neighbourhood) and took ages to return. There's no kind of negative thought dat didn't cross my mind...
ReplyDeleteNot to talk of a mother who bore a child 9 months in her womb...OZI,plss come bak to ur mummy.
Father in Heaven, protect him wherever he is and bring him back safely to his family in Jesus Mighty Name.Amen...
amen
DeleteIt is terrible that the university took long to react. After collecting his fees they just forgot about him. Nigerians should stand up and start making changes. Since the government does not care for his people no one else in the world feels they should either. What a sad situation. May he be found soon.
ReplyDeleteHe went out at night without a proper jacket to keep him warm. He was seen on CCTV working around 4 hours after he left the club, my guess is maybe he lost his way home. I hope he he found alive soon.
ReplyDeleteHeavenly father pls bring him back safely fromwhere ever he is
ReplyDeleteLord have mercy!
ReplyDeleteOnly u Lord can bring Ozi back, we trust you cause we shall join his mum in testifying.
God have mercy. Please for the sake of the mum, show mercy
ReplyDeleteNigerian High commission in the UK is very hopeless. I have had dealing with them in the past and they staff are as hopeless as the word Hopeless itself.
ReplyDeleteGod please bring him back home safely
ReplyDeleteSo sad. God's intervention is a ll I ask for.
ReplyDeleteaga huya na ah jisos amen
ReplyDeleteAbeg abeg. The Nigerian embassy has and will never care for its citizens both in and out of Nigeria. You are on your own. We continue to pray for the safe return of the boy
ReplyDeleteAs a mother, I cant really express how I fell for this woman. God, please intervene. Rose

ReplyDeleteThis is so sad.watched a video some days back where the mum was saying that she just lost her hubby 3years ago and when ozi younger bro was crying about the death, ozi promised to be a father to him.ozi, pls come home and fulfil ur promise.
ReplyDeleteI feel you ma Ozi .
ReplyDeleteBe strong for your other kid/kids and ready for the end result whether good or bad .I pray for bittersweet ending in Jesus name .
Now , he went clubbing with friends , took a wrong turn , was last seen flagging down cars.
Okay , I THINK he was set up by a person or group of people .
Madam , ask for the video RIGHT INSIDE THE CLUB NOT OUTSIDE .
I've this feeling that he might have hit or show interest about someone (girl) and the boyfriend set him up .
Check if anyone slipped any piece of paper to him or exchange phone numbers .
Contact his service provider to check his calls, messages ,Facebook and email address a week before he was last seen in case a meeting was arranged to take place at that club .
Question the FRIENDS that took him clubbing , if possible , use the lie detector .
Check the last signal from his service provider to pinpoint his last known location and check if anyone contacted him within that area.
get a PI .
Search his room , computer ,bank statement and roommates .
Check if he was about buying something on line , what he was trying to buy , spread your search and see if he was planning or meeting anyone that sells gun ,you never can tell if he felt he need one for protection .
I believe the video from the club and phone will shade a little light of what happened .
Don't bank on the cops because the case will go cold .
And lastly, pull yourself together mommy if you're reading this . I know it's not easy .
Do you believe in miracles mommy ?
I do mom, BELIEVE . I pray he's held up somewhere and will reunite with you soon .
Whatever happens , please be strong. You and Ozi are no longer alone , He'll be back in one piece .
Do you remember the guy that locked up 3 girls for more than 20 years or so till one of them finally escaped and set the rest free ?
Remember people gave up and declared them dead .
Ozi will be back to you mommy .
I'm really sorry you're going through this .
BE STRONG AND PREPARED FOR ANYTHING .
I agree with you. Amen to your prayers.
Deletepls God as they have refused to do something about finding this boy; Father lord pls show thy mighty strength and let this boy be seen
ReplyDelete'how I feel' not 'fell'. Let me correct myself before one I too-know who has all the time will come after my post. Rose
ReplyDeleteMamie shut your gutter mouth.....must Jonathan come to the uk and tell the ambassador to be more concerned about citizens welfare. Person mess na Jonathan...very soon you will blame Jonathan for your horseband cheating on you.....ogbanje
ReplyDeleteGod please bring him safely back
ReplyDeleteNigerians pls sit up and stop blaming everyone else for you problems.....do you know what that girls family did to push the police to act? I shuttle naija and the uk so I know how some things work...sometimes the system is just lazy till you make noise to be heard....you as a Nigerian how many of you have carried the boys matter on your head? What have you tone as an individual to help in looking for this boy? If you all gather and go to the media house even one day things will change....nobody will drink Panadol for your headache..sometimes even the oyibo people themselves have to go the extra mile to be heard..
ReplyDelete...and pls stop lying, whites are not wicked...the same way you have very wicked people in naija that is how u have wicked oyibos...some Nigerians are very lawless and expect everything to be solved with " I beg sir" " I am from your village" there are rules here and you are expected to do things the right way......i am not saying there is no racism out here but I have equally met amazing white people who were friendly and have helped in one way or the other.....
Lord Pls All dis poor woman need now is for d son to be seen, father God we beg you to bring Ozi back IJMN.
