Massive Support Trails Emma Ugolee's Kidney Disease Awareness Event in Lagos - Pics


Saturday 21st March 2015 recorded the nation's first celebrity rally against kidney disease. Kidney patient and ex broadcaster Emma Ugolee in partnership with Ghanian actress Juliet Ibrahim foundation made this happen. 









The impressive turn out of celebrities included Desmond Eliot, Monalisa Chinda, Julius Agwu, Audu Maikori, Yaw, Bovi, AY, Bobby Michaels, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Mode 9, Funny bone, Senator, Praiz, Sound Sultan and many more. 

 Others present included notable personalities of the corporate Nigerian world such as Osaze Ebukeku. Kidney patients from across Lagos, Medical personnel, the Media and well wishers. 






 The event kicked off at 8:00am with light music and a general inter mingling of attendees. The anchor, radio personality and actor on Tinsel, Justice Atigogo smoothly linked the various segments of the event, beginning with the Doctors who told everyone most of what they needed for hear about the Kidney disease.Consultant Nephrologist, Dr Adewunmi in particular spoke on the need for personal awareness and medical check ups.





 Patients who are suffering from the disease also spoke to the crowd. One speaker remembered late Chaz B of whom she was a great fan while trying hard to contain herself. The microphone also got to those who had gotten a chance to donate to kidney to someone in the past.






 A very emotionally charged environment at this point was addressed by the celebrities who assured the crowd that they would do all they can to add their voices to the awareness. Speaking on their behalf, Audu. Monalisa, Ebuka and Desmond were all reassuring of their support and love for both Emmanuel Ugolee and course. 





 Emma Ugolee, finally spoke with so much gratitude to all who had supported the event especially his partner for this edition, Juliet Ibrahim. Everyone who spoke asked the government to assist with the high cost of dialysis (the weekly treatment for patients) which is free in Ivory Coast.
The walk then commenced with the necessary government agencies overseeing a hitch free public display of concerned Nigerians over kidney disease





Emma Ugolee announced that a second phase to the awareness commences with a new tag " Talk against kidney disease" where other celebrities who were unavoidably absent at the walk, would take the awareness to radio and TV. This he would be Massive support as Emma Ugolee holds Kidney Disease Awareness Event in Lagos. in conjunction with "Arise Monalisa Foundation" belonging to actress and friend, Monalisa Chinda.

    On a lighter note; whenever I hear or see this celebrities' walk or protest, I remember Xoxo mystery's sunglasses and bottle water comment. Funny enough I look out for them.

  9. This guy didn't join in the rally? What's that guy's name that his wife donated a kidney for him then? I think Korede Bello's dad or something? Because with his experience, he would have really boosted this with Emma Ugolee. Oh well.
