You should have put up a pic of Lagos traffic now so we can compare
ReplyDeleteWell organized traffic. Lol
ReplyDeleteTraffic was organised like this everywhere in Nigeria, even in small towns and villages. We still had the influence of the colonists in us. Things changed for the worse when we started doing things the NIGERIAN way.
DeleteMany people were still I thier villages then, that's why.........Stella u must enjoy me

Then the colonial masters have not fully left,so if u do anyhow,u see anyhow!and dats the best way to handle nigerians...
ReplyDeleteUntil a disciplined regime like Buhari comes on board again, naija can never have such order again in its lifetime!.....so with that I proudly say;Goodluck Buhari!
You think Buhari can enforce discipline queen bee? It was Tunde Idiagbon that was the brain behind that project so you know.
DeleteVery well organized but what do i get now everybody want to leave and at the same time

By the time you're home, food is ready. Eko oni baje.

Why are they all the bicycle riders in the same colour of shirts? Could this be Photoshop? Just wondering
ReplyDeleteMy first observation lol but then again they could be school boys

DeleteThose days are wonderful days I wish I really saw. Dad use to tell me how everything was heavenly then compare to now. It is well.
ReplyDeleteNo be small thing
ReplyDeleteAs at then, d crowd wasn't much also cars.Lagos can never be like that again. Never
ReplyDeleteWho told you we can't bring back such discipline? India is the second most populated country and they maintain such orderly. Our traffic sector should bring back the Discipline
DeleteI wish we can go back to this... hmmm
ReplyDeleteNigeria aga adizi kwa nma ozo?#thinkingoutloud
ReplyDeleteWhen the going was good. Wish I was here back then. Looks sane and orderly.
ReplyDeleteAnd I remember my uncle once told me that back then in Lagos, cars were allowed out on certain days according to the alphabet registration on the plate numbers. Something like, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, cars with AZ or whatever were the only ones allowed out. While on other days another alphabet took turn to come out. He said it was to reduce congestion of some sort. Anyone else heard this before?
ReplyDeleteMrs Zulu dear,
DeleteWhat I remember my dad told me was that they did odd and even plate numbers.
On certain days of the week, cars that end (abi start) with odd numbers were allowed, then other days it's cars with odd numbers that were allowed.
That's how they managed the cars/traffic those days.
So if you had two cars then, make sure one is even number and the other is odd number so you can be able to drive daily.
LOL
Look who we have here oooo. Hey mrs Zulu.lol. As per this gist, never heard of it o.
Delete@genny, really? I imagine what it would have been like, having odd numbers and even number outings. Lol
imposicant

ReplyDeleteThis is what all Nigerians should be demanding from the New Government, the era of expending roads when traffic becomes heavy has passed, lets build bicycle lanes from existing roads and develop policies that promote non-motorized transport above the car centric model of transportation that has taking over the landscape.
