Fired Univision Star Rodner Figueroa Apologizes To Michelle Obama For Racist Remarks… But Is It Enough?

After making racist remarks about the First Lady of America, one fired television personality is owning up to his awful comment… kind of.

That's right, ex-Univision star Rodner Figueroa was on the program El Gordo y La Flaca when he said that Michelle Obama looked like a "cast member of Planet of the Apes."

Just disgusting. SeRiouSLY! What century are we living in?!
However, Rodney has since released an apology in which he claims that he's not
a racist. Here's an excerpt of his statement that was personally addressed to Michelle:

''I want to clarify that I am not racist in any way, my comment was not directed towards you, but towards the characterization of the artist, who left much to be desired. The entire video clip in context proves it.

I feel embarrassed, I apologize, because there is no excuse for a professional like me to make these type of comments that can be interpreted as offensive and racist in such volatile times in our country. I take responsibility for this lack of judgment on my part, but I cannot accept being called a racist by anyone and be dismissed as such, and publicly humiliated by Univision after 17 years in this business....'' - culled from Perezhilton my hero.LOL

What do you think about his apology?I think everyone just over reacted because he mentioned Michelle Obama's name.
It was good of him to tow the right path by apologising.

His employers should have asked him to apologise publicly, why fire him just like that?
Anyway ISH happens!

    1. First off he isn't "white"
And freedom of speech is not equal to making hateful comments about anyone, Michelle Obama or not.
Juliana Rancic on fashion police made such a comment about a "white' celebrity and she came under same heat and had to apologise.
Again freedom of speech doesn't mean u should make hate comments or stereotype people

      Zendaya isn't white.
      Her dad is black.

    3. His apology does not make sense. The thought process wasn't spontaneous, he's been nursing this idea for so long that when the opportunity came he had to say it. Sacking him does not change anything.

Now he knows how it feels..

Rest in peace to those lives that were lost as a result of racism!!!!
Those that were shot because they were blacks by the American cops.

  3. Even though he has apologized, racism is still rooted in his heart.

Your comment will be visible after approval

    1. You,a black, looked at her and thought "she nearly looked like....."

Why won't whites degrade blacks when blacks degrade blacks?

  5. He should shove his apology down his throat...These white cunts have a way of looking down on blacks yet they keep saying they are not racists.

Guliana rancic's racist joke about Zendaya has torn fashion police apart already that Kathy Griffin had to quit just yesterday.

People should learn to give as much as they can take.

  14. Did i hear somebody say he shouldnt have been fired? You have not been a victim before, so you cannot understand. Yes freedom of speech but watch you tongue when you make such speeches.

  15. Mrs Obama as the first black First Lady of the United States has been subjected to such abuse and disrespect from the racists. She's been attacked even more than her husband, and gets more death threats than he does.

They are less hostile to him and some embrace him because he's half white, but they hate her because she's fully black and embraces her blackness proudly.

My heart just breaks for her as I watch her stay so stoic and gracious even as she's attacked and disrespected for no reason other than that she's black.

This is a woman who is younger than her husband by 3 years, but who had graduated from Princeton and Harvard and was already practicing law at the top law firm when her husband came to the firm to intern as a first year law student.

She sacrificed all of her own dreams and ambitions to support her husband in his. And these idiots now think they can poke this brilliant woman in the eye.

    3. Pls don't compare apples and oranges here. Our dear Dame gets insulted because of her own actions and utterances. Is it an insult to call a spade a spade? And I dare say she gives as much as she gets.

  17. He insulted her again in his so-called apology by saying that his comment was not directed towards her; when he actually mentioned her name in his comment.
He should've simply given a straight forward apology without trying to be dumb with it.

The fact that there is freedom of speech doesn't mean people should just open their mouths wide and say whatever the like not minding how their comments affect others.
Even his so called apology reeks of rudeness and arrogance.
    Unrepentant racist bastard.
