Baby Food Recipe.‏

Get ready to blow your baby's mind away!

Hallo fellow blog visitors. Compliments of the day. I have a baby food recipe that i have been dying to share with mothers in the house. I will start by categorizing the fruits and vegetables according to baby's age.
Baby's from 4 months old can ONLY eat these fruits and vegetables. (Please note that only is in capital letters).

I included pics of the ones i made for my children, Hope your babies enjoy it.

FRUITS: Apple, banana, Citroen, kiwi, tangerine, mango, peach, nectarine, grapefruit, plum, and oranges.

VEGETABLES: Irish potatoes, Aubergine, cabbage, broccoli, water leaf, carrots, tomatoes.

Baby's from 6 months:
FRUITS: All fruits from 4months including these; strawberry, apricot, blackberry, raspberry, passion fruit, figs, paw-paw.
VEGETABLES: All vegetables from 4 months including these; Avocado, mushrooms, green peas, green beans.

Baby's from one year:
All fruits and vegetables from 4 months and 6 months + everything an adult eats.
Now, you can make fruit pap and vegetable pap out of the listed fruits and vegetables according to your baby's age. Do not choose more than 3 fruits or vegetables at a time.

FRUIT PAP
How to:
I will make the most popular one which is a combination of oranges, banana, Apple and biscuits.

Firstly, wash your hands with soap and water . Peel the orange and bring out the juice with the extractor or your hands. Set aside. Peel the Apple and grate with the grater. Use fork and soften the banana, mix all together. Add biscuits( baby biscuits or any type of biscuits but not crackers). You can as well use blender for the apple and banana and then mix with the extracted orange juice and biscuits or grounded biscuits in packs of 800 or 400g. Babies prefer that which is prepared with blender because it is smooth in their mouths.

VEGETABLE PAP:
How to: peel and wash the Irish potatoes, set on fire.( please no salt or seasoning). Wash and cook lean meat, or fish or boil egg till done(choose either fish, meat, or egg/no salt or seasoning). Boil water leaf in a separate pot(I blend my leaves raw- no cooking). Peel half an apple and put in a blender( Apple serves as a sweetener. If it's not sweet some babies will not eat it). Add the boiled Irish potatoes, add fish or meat or boiled egg, add the leaves, a little water, a little butter or teaspoon of veg. Oil. Blend till smooth.

N.B- don't add meat, fish or egg if your baby is not up to 6 months old pls. If you don't have blender use fork to press everything together and use grater for the sweetener (Apple). The only difference is that your baby may prefer that from blender because it is smoother.

If you have original baby recipe's you made up and want to share, please send them in...

    1. Exclusive isn't for everyone,
Most kids can't survive on breast milk alone and they need formula to fill them up.
      Don't misinform, everybody's system isn't the same.
Also Heinz makes Pudding, Custard, Yoghurt meant for 4-36months
All Natural fruits, with little or no preservative.
So its safe to try this too.!

    2. @anonymous, thats because most mothers cant wait to start shoving cow milk down their baby's throat within the first weeks after delivery when they shud spend that time breastfeeding their baby as often as the baby wants so that ur brain will help ur body establish the right quantity of milk and regulate it according to your baby need!
Its really annoying hearing this "most babies cant survive on breast milk alone" before there was formula nko? Did the babies die?

      Delete
    3. Anne while I don't totally agree with anonymous your own reasoning is gross exergeration.... There are various reasons y most mothers can't do exclusive.... My twins came preterm and right from hospital it's being formula and breast milk.... Cos they r on special milk for premature babies they look so healthy and robust at 4 months...one of them doesn't even like the breast much self.... Wanted to start cereal or baby food this month but they said to wait till they r 6 months....

    4. All babies are not the same abeg.
      Working mums nko?
Mums.if u are working, pls introduce baby formula before d end of ur maternity leave so that she'll get used to it before you go back to work.

  30. So, how come its just my baby (10months) who doesn't like anything I make unless it's the HEINZ box foods especially anything with cheese? I tried boiled potatoes with his milk and some cheese all pureed, he spit it out. But when I gave him the HEINZ multi grain with cheese, carrots and sweet corn, he kept "um'ing". I made brocolli with chicken and sweet potatoes all pureed. He ate 4 spoons and that was it but when I gave him cheesy veg pasta from the box for dinner, he ate it all. He wont even eat home pureed fruits except it's the HEINZ fruit puree wth no artificial sugar or preservatives which makes it the same as home made but......
Sometimes, I feel like I've failed as a mum when I take him to playgroups and other mums are talking about how their 10months + babies started eating home meals from 4+....

    1. Don't beat yourself about it.... Kids are all diff.... Tried one of my 4 months old twins on cow n hate pure baby rice, she cried like I wanted to poison her while her sister that can eat for Africa downed hers..I tried the Heinz banana and apple purée and they both liked it.... Maybe cos they were preterm they sha said to wait till they r 6 months before starting baby food...had a friend way back who went to naija with loads of Heinz baby food, when she got there baby fashied Heinz and started eating naija food steady..lol.... So pls let him enjoy what he loves so far he is healthy and getting all his nutrients

  31. @ ego lag, yes you can store in the fridge but make sure she/he consumes it within the next 24 hrs. @ linda eze, thanks for the correction, that's what you get when you are learning a new language. @ the blog visitor that says that babies may get obsessed while eating it , no dear, it is 100% plantaardig( plant source). I just shared one of the world's best baby food recipes at no cost. It is approved by children nutritionists and Peadiatricians. As a first time mother, I was inspected twice at home to make sure I was doing it right. We do not have pap(akamu/ogi) here, even if they have, they may not approve it. A smart mother wouldn't doubt this. # for the love of sdk babies.
