Singer Sophie B. Hawkins Pregnant at 50

Sophie B. Hawkins is pregnant with her second child at 50!

The "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover" and "As I Lay Me Down" singer confirmed the happy news to People, revealing she conceived using donor sperm and her own frozen embryo.

"I found Dashiell really needs a sibling," Hawkins said, referring to her 6-hear-old son with ex-partner Gigi Gaston. "My son has one parent who's 50. I want him to have a family of young people too!"

And yes, the recently singer artist spent some serious energy worrying whether or not she was too old to have another child.

"I went through waking up crying and saying, ‘Am I too old? Will I suddenly at 51 have my knees give out?'" she told People. "Now I don't have any of those fears because I feel healthy and strong. I'm also setting up a good net of support, and that's the key to anybody having a child."

"For me, the main decision was emotional," she added. "I've been wanting to have a child since Dashiell was 1, but I was working too much and there was a lot going on in my relationship."

But now, she's past her first trimester and preparing for baby No.2.

Congratulations to her growing family!

    1. Sperm donor o, egg donor o, the child of yours as long as you carried him with your womb. I must say the two things killing Nigerians is so called culture and ignorance. Even couples that are of same AS genotype use sperm or egg donors to have normal children. Some couples with terrible genetic diseases also adopt same method. Why won't white people feel superior to us. Nigerians need to change their mind set and get exposed.

  13. If I'm not mistaken he does have a father but it's seems very private. A friend said he would bring Dashiel and pick him up from a French school that he attended in Venice. My friend said
he called him Dad but his first name is Graham. And he did this several times a week. The only Graham that pops up when you google Sophie's full name and Graham Is Graham Kaye her former agent from William Morris. If it is his dad why the secrecy? Wouldn't that be difficult for the kid?
