Doctors At LUTH Protest...

Governor Fashola should please look into this since LUTH is under Lagos state and is a teaching hospital.
What is going on there is wrong and these Doctors are crying out but no one seems to be paying any attention...If they strike,it is the common man that bears the consequences as all those in charge take the overseas route for their personal medical checkup and/or treatment.

A Doctor who is a blog visitor sent in a small mail that describes the scenario....shame!

''Good morning Stella. I would like to commend your good work so far.
Please I want to bring to your attention a very terrible situation occurring here in Luth. We doctors are currently having a mini protest (not a strike) because a lot of us are been owed up to 7months salary. As I speak to you.. I've not been paid for 8 months!
I survive purely on goodwill, yet I go to work everyday having to care for the sick.
It's that bad. Also, the management paid our January salary.. Yet our December salary has not been paid. And they are keeping numb about it.. Yet the Joint health workers that were on strike during that time were paid a 13th month salary.!
It's very unfair. Luth is the only hospital I know that treats it's doctors this way.

Please kindly bring this to the attention of the appropriate authorities.''

    1. At anonymous I believe you are one of them. If you people like continue being envious of the doctors it won't change a thing. I wonder how you people will form an association and call it joint health workers excluding the doctors, are they not also health workers? Stop hating if you wanna be a doctor then buy a UTME form and apply I don't if YOU even have the brain to get a good score that will give you MBBS

  28. If una like don't impeach your ARD exco and go on strike, dey dia dey send Stella mail.

After salary is overdue for 6weeks you should declare an indefinite strike which will ONLY be called off when you receive bank alert, not when you are assured!

You people are supposed to know that once government salary don enter arears it can never be paid full.

When will doctors in Naija learn to fight for their rights without giving in to unnecessary sentiments?

  30. Imagine the belittling

How can u pay JOHESU their full salary whilst on/after strike and yet owe ur doctors 4 8good months

And yet cos of "these" nonsense, when doctors develop a non challant attitude towards work, they are being termed quacks

4pete sake how are they suppose to survive?

It seems Luths medical association board ain't functioning cos they keep having issues,if they ain't goin on strike then it be from one problem to the other

The sick/poor would suffer no doubt bt abeg they should leave their mini protest and just embark on strike already

Johesus are back aren't they and they've been paid so this is their time for them to prove their worth and tk care of the sick after all that's what they'v been on about~ saying d hospital can function wvout doctors

Can't deal abeg cos this is just pure wickedness habaaaa 8goodmonths!!!

  35. God have mercy! stellahipsy,it is actually a federal hospital...while gej can spend millions on food, the caregivers are starving..do i blame him?all his ppl recieve care abroad so what do they care?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Stella pls correct you misleading headline, LUTH is the teaching hospital under Unilag which is federal. Fashola has absolutely nothing to do with it. Better call federal govt aka GEj on this.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Luth is FG owned. Fashola no get business with it. Cry to your union who will cry to the medical body who will cry to the minister. All those unpaid salaries have entered voicemail.

    ReplyDelete
  38. All these people saying LUTH is a government hospital have misplaced priorities! Regardless whether it is state or government owned, if the governor of the state is interested he'll make a plea for them. Do you think it's easy being a doctor? Meanwhile, when the other health workers went on strike, it was still with pay. Being a doctor in this country takes the grace of God because the workload and the salary doesn't correlate!

  45. Please Stella always get your facts right. It is obvious your are on the payroll of Jonathan but don't sell lies to people. When you were taught journalism, i believe you were taught to do investigation before publishing but this is what online jargon has reduce journalism to. You are the main perpetrator of this act and the more reason i respect Linda Ikeji. She always try to put caveat in stories when she is not sure and she is more careful when posting stories. She post stories not lies and when she errs, she makes effort to make correction but you don't. I see that you are struggling to keep up and some mushroom organisations dash you award or you probably pay to get them to stay relevant. I won't stop this attack until you do us a favor to stop posting lies. If you like don't post my comment. I have seen 3 inaccurate stories so far today alone especially on politics.

  46. When doctors went on strike, they were paid.Johesu too were paid when they went on strike. What's d noise about.Luth doctors should go settle their problems. LEAVE JOHESU out of this
