Governor Fashola should please look into this since LUTH is under Lagos state and is a teaching hospital.
What is going on there is wrong and these Doctors are crying out but no one seems to be paying any attention...If they strike,it is the common man that bears the consequences as all those in charge take the overseas route for their personal medical checkup and/or treatment.
A Doctor who is a blog visitor sent in a small mail that describes the scenario....shame!
''Good morning Stella. I would like to commend your good work so far.
Please I want to bring to your attention a very terrible situation occurring here in Luth. We doctors are currently having a mini protest (not a strike) because a lot of us are been owed up to 7months salary. As I speak to you.. I've not been paid for 8 months!
I survive purely on goodwill, yet I go to work everyday having to care for the sick.
It's that bad. Also, the management paid our January salary.. Yet our December salary has not been paid. And they are keeping numb about it.. Yet the Joint health workers that were on strike during that time were paid a 13th month salary.!
It's very unfair. Luth is the only hospital I know that treats it's doctors this way.
Please kindly bring this to the attention of the appropriate authorities.''
LUTH is fg owned. LASUTH is lagos state owned.
ReplyDeleteanon 08:36, ring it in stella's ears oo...
DeleteThis is just bad after 6 years in school + strike then when u finally think everything. Is over they will start owning you. They frustrate you in school and also continue after after graduation. Am just tired of Nigeria.
DeleteOwing! And then just one after shud be owk!
DeleteStella na federal government get luth. Do ur findings well
DeleteThat's FG issue not fashola.
Deleteshame on u,must u mention joint helath workers in ur protest?
ReplyDeleteFool. Must u comment
DeleteAt anonymous I believe you are one of them. If you people like continue being envious of the doctors it won't change a thing. I wonder how you people will form an association and call it joint health workers excluding the doctors, are they not also health workers? Stop hating if you wanna be a doctor then buy a UTME form and apply I don't if YOU even have the brain to get a good score that will give you MBBS
Delete@ bimbo and ifunanya u are the fools. Whats your biz with johesu? Why does anything johesu pain u so much? The nma has never fought for the whole hospital rights or allowances it has always being about their pockets. So why wont the other health workers come together to fight for their rights? If u all drs want to go on strike,do so already and leave johesu out of it! Yes and im a medical laboratory scientist !

ReplyDeleteIt's getting all worse by the day. .
The school beside my house sings d national anthem everyday and when they get to d part of "The Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain",I always laugh because their labour has been destroyed. .what they fought for has been destroyed. .the country keeps getting worse and we as citizens keep helping to destroy it. .
#GodsaveNigeria#..
That doesn't warrant a laugh tho. Makes me wonder your sense of humour. Like, why would you hear that and laugh.. everyday for that matter. Creep
DeleteOnly in nigiriya doctors are treated like shit!

DeleteGovernor Fashola, do the needful, rather than playing with kids.
ReplyDeleteFashola is working......lol, They have used d money for election campaign.
ReplyDeleteFashola isnt responsible for LUTH. Its a federal hospital. Blame it on GEJ
DeleteBlame it on GEJ? Do you expect him to credit their bank accounts himself ?
DeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteNot good! Not good at all.
Those who offer humanitarian services shouldn't be owed at all.

Fashola has got absolutely nothing to do with this
Y'all should be blaming ur soon to leave president jonathan

DeleteAnon calling someone an illiterate. Go back to school and learn how to spell. Anuofia!!
DeletePlease someone correct me if I am wrong, how come LUTH is under lagos state payroll? it is a teaching hospital and it should be under the federal government, same as all others e.g UCH, ABUTH, etc
ReplyDeleteLUTH is University of Lagos teaching hospital thus a federal hospital and Oga Gej' attention is what is needed noth Fashola.
ReplyDeleteAbi una dey wait for GEJ again??
ReplyDeleteSad!
ReplyDeleteDis is terrible and not acceptable at all!!doctors dat shld be happy so they can take good care of d sick haven't been paid their salaries for dis long.
ReplyDeleteOya, appropriate authority over to you guys
ReplyDeleteDoctors and teachers should be the first to receive salaries... They should even get theirs directly from the CRF if possible. All those old presidents getting money for nothing and the hard workers are getting nothing. Mscheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew.

ReplyDeleteDem never pay 12months of some they are paying 13th month for others....
It's not easy taking care of the sick with an empty stomach and the thoughts of your hungry ones at home
Hope you are not affected love!
DeleteI'm so sorry!!
One of the reasons I didn't relocate back! Because of the way doctors in Nigeria are being treated.
I won't have even practiced if I did move back.
It is well.

DeleteSweedie... I'm not o
DeleteI just feel pity for them..
Naija which way o
@sabo dear it's still *being and not *been
DeleteWell...no doubt doctors are suffering bt i personally think it's an internal thing
Most state/federal owned hospitals still try to keep up wv the payment of their doctors, wonder y luth should be different
Thanks Elena for the correction.
DeleteI understand!! I think it is because LUTH is semi autonomous , that's why they are having this problem.
Too bad the government is playing with human lives
ReplyDeleteno be fashola matter Stella, Luth na federal hospital. lasuth be fashola own
ReplyDeleteIf una like don't impeach your ARD exco and go on strike, dey dia dey send Stella mail.
ReplyDeleteAfter salary is overdue for 6weeks you should declare an indefinite strike which will ONLY be called off when you receive bank alert, not when you are assured!
You people are supposed to know that once government salary don enter arears it can never be paid full.
When will doctors in Naija learn to fight for their rights without giving in to unnecessary sentiments?
Nigeria is doomed! Nothing works.
ReplyDeleteJust waiting for when another civil war will come, the only solution is REVOLUTION!
Imagine the belittling
ReplyDeleteHow can u pay JOHESU their full salary whilst on/after strike and yet owe ur doctors 4 8good months
And yet cos of "these" nonsense, when doctors develop a non challant attitude towards work, they are being termed quacks
4pete sake how are they suppose to survive?
It seems Luths medical association board ain't functioning cos they keep having issues,if they ain't goin on strike then it be from one problem to the other
The sick/poor would suffer no doubt bt abeg they should leave their mini protest and just embark on strike already
Johesus are back aren't they and they've been paid so this is their time for them to prove their worth and tk care of the sick after all that's what they'v been on about~ saying d hospital can function wvout doctors
Can't deal abeg cos this is just pure wickedness habaaaa 8goodmonths!!!
That's so unfair. These staff have mouths to feed and family to cater for. BRF pls look into this matter.
ReplyDeleteI be lik to comment but stella no dey post my comment again *sadface* FG/GEJ pls pay Dr's in LUTH
ReplyDeleteStella hope u will read this comment. Fasola is not responsible for Luth payroll. Luth is a federal government hospital therefore GED is responsible. Pls correct ur post because u giving out wrong information. Thanks
ReplyDeleteDoctors should be the first to receive salary, fashola should do something as soon as possible
ReplyDeleteGod have mercy! stellahipsy,it is actually a federal hospital...while gej can spend millions on food, the caregivers are starving..do i blame him?all his ppl recieve care abroad so what do they care?
ReplyDeleteSay what!!! Eko ni baje oo; o baje ti
ReplyDeleteStella pls correct you misleading headline, LUTH is the teaching hospital under Unilag which is federal. Fashola has absolutely nothing to do with it. Better call federal govt aka GEj on this.
ReplyDeleteLuth is FG owned. Fashola no get business with it. Cry to your union who will cry to the medical body who will cry to the minister. All those unpaid salaries have entered voicemail.
ReplyDeleteAll these people saying LUTH is a government hospital have misplaced priorities! Regardless whether it is state or government owned, if the governor of the state is interested he'll make a plea for them. Do you think it's easy being a doctor? Meanwhile, when the other health workers went on strike, it was still with pay. Being a doctor in this country takes the grace of God because the workload and the salary doesn't correlate!
ReplyDeleteAre you ok? That why there is division of labor, how will the state convince the federal govt to heed if they are not ready to.....Think
DeleteWhat do you mean by plea?do you think the appropriate authorities don't know their job, nobody has to remind them if they really want to steal money.
DeleteLuth federal govt. They shld them o before we start hearing stories that touch.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm just passing!
ReplyDeleteSTELLA !!!! Luth ain't fashola's biz ooo. and y'all saying fashola shld pay is it dt ure dumb to know dt LUTH is FG owned??? pls dnt come ere and spill trash, moreover ignorance ain't an excuse.
ReplyDeleteGej is not good o,pls pay them now
ReplyDeletePlease pay them oo,Doctors are so important.

Being was actually the correct word.
ReplyDeleteA lot of people make that annoying mistake on this blog. Primary school pupils write better than most graduates on this blog, big shame
I am so sure that whoever wrote this article is not a doctor working with LUTH cos if he was, He must have aigned an agreement with the federal Govt and not lagos state. So why call Fashola?
ReplyDeletePlease Stella always get your facts right. It is obvious your are on the payroll of Jonathan but don't sell lies to people. When you were taught journalism, i believe you were taught to do investigation before publishing but this is what online jargon has reduce journalism to. You are the main perpetrator of this act and the more reason i respect Linda Ikeji. She always try to put caveat in stories when she is not sure and she is more careful when posting stories. She post stories not lies and when she errs, she makes effort to make correction but you don't. I see that you are struggling to keep up and some mushroom organisations dash you award or you probably pay to get them to stay relevant. I won't stop this attack until you do us a favor to stop posting lies. If you like don't post my comment. I have seen 3 inaccurate stories so far today alone especially on politics.
ReplyDeleteWhen doctors went on strike, they were paid.Johesu too were paid when they went on strike. What's d noise about.Luth doctors should go settle their problems. LEAVE JOHESU out of this
