The lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator ‘Gbenga Ashafa recently began a full-scale tour and comprehensive renovation of project sites across his senatorial district.
Ashafa who is a serving senator currently approaching the end of his first term is also the 2015 senatorial candidate for Lagos East on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The extensive renovation tour of constituency project sites in Lagos East stemmed from the critical assessment tour recently embarked upon by his project team which revealed that the 98 constituency projects across the district were either “completed and commissioned”, “under construction (but delayed as a result of non-release of funds from the Federal Government)”, or “completed but yet to be handed over to the appropriate agency for monitoring”.
Senator Ashafa noted that the 98 projects cut across the 5 LGAs and 11 LCDAs in Lagos East, adding that “they were crucial to the welfare and socio-economic development of the people.”
“I am glad that I have consistently delivered on my campaign promises to work for the people of Lagos East and my second term would leave no stone unturned to ensure a more improved economic development and social infrastructure framework for the good people of Lagos East.”
The first phase of the commissioning exercise included some newly built or refurbished motorized boreholes at Mutaku, Ado and Owu communities, all in Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
Other activities soon to be carried out include proper handing over of completed ambulance points to the Lagos State Ministry of Health, completed blocks of classrooms to the Lagos State Ministry of Education and some units of 300KVA and 500KVA transformers to DISCOs in Lagos.
According to the supervising engineer, “It should be noted that the entire renovation being carried out currently is being funded exclusively by Senator Ashafa. The project does not have funding from the Federal Government but nonetheless, life has to be made meaningful for our people through the provision of basic social amenities.”
The senator emphasized that the renovation tour would be very comprehensive in scope and remain ongoing. He also appealed to the people to continue to support the APC in its quest to offer purposeful leadership which would drive change in Nigeria come March 2015.

What I keep saying is that they shouldn't feel its a big deal because its what they should do. So now that elections are close, all these projects miraculously emerge. God is watching you all in 4D.
