    Visit baby centre and you will see more..You inform your Doctor/mid-wife that you want your placenta...they fit it into your birth plan and preserve for you...gross but real..lol

    She said the placenta smells like a womans menstruation. The placenta/meat looks like the fresh heart of a cow before it's washed.

    Yes I can eat it!....Yeah I eat mine . (Due to curiosity at first)....
    Most of mine client who have home birth,eat their placenta.Is a normal talk with pregnant women when they have tea or coffee talk in Breast café over here.
    You can either eat cooked or in capsules formed. ..

      I read about it while I was in college and later confirmed that people do actually eat it when I saw a white couple eating it on the television.

      Some restaurants have cow and goat placenta on their menus. Never tried it and don't wanna.

    Spiritually it's wrong it's like eating ur self. Or ur child, if any have ever attended mfm's pregnant women prayer meetings dey will ask u to collect. D placenta frm d hospital and burn. Although it will take days for it to burn, or u pour chemical like acid to burn it quickly. Cos d placenta is like child cos u will push for it to come out on its own.     No be only placenta. All the ethnic groups in Sierra Leone apart from the Krios/Creoles practice female circumcision and part of the process is to eat the circumcised bit (clitoris) in some sort of secret ritual. Girls are brought in from as far as Canada by their parents to be initiated into this secret society that is how deep rooted the custom is even though some enlightened non Krio parents have refused to let their daughters undergo this ritual it is still so deeply entrenched in their society (country people society)

      In the female circumcision thing in some part of Sierra Leone, is common with those in power over there, where by they take the circumcised part and eat it or grind it in power form and rub it over an incisionmark on their body. They said it make them powerful, that is why it is difficult to eradicate this practices in that country because the politicians there practice it.The cult thing.
