Outrage has continued to trail the newspaper advertorial placed by the Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, stating that the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari is terminally ill and may soon die, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said that it does not represent the position of the party or the views of President Goodluck Jonathan.
Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaigns, Chief Femi Fani Kayode |
Disassociating PDP and the President from the controversial advertisement, the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaigns, Chief Femi Fani Kayode said that the Ekiti state governor does not speak for the President and PDP as a political party and that the content of the advertisement does not represent the position of the party.
According to Fani Kayode, "Governor, Ayo Fayose is a distinguish leader of our party. A democratically elected governor and someone we have immense respect and affection for and he released this advert in his own name.
"That represents his own personal opinion which he is entitled to. That is what I can tell you on our part as the Presidential campaign organisation. It does not represent the opinion of the Presidential Campaign Organisation or indeed the President, it is his opinion which he is entitled to.
"I have spoken with him and we respect him but for any body to suggest that this is the position of the presidential campaign organisation or President Goodluck Jonathan, that will be most unfair.
If we wanted to say something like that, we will say it without any kind of apology but of course, .. but of course we will never say that because we believe in the sanctity of life and age is not a function of how long you will live ..it is important that we recognize the fact that age is not an indication of how long somebody will live."culled
Ayo Fayose ''ARE YOU ARE''!!!!
You should tender an apology to Buhari for wishing death on him, what you did is all shades of wrong,i dont care if you were intoxicated when you paid for the advert or not!

ReplyDeleteI saw it on channels news. Fayose did wrong, how about the YEYE punch newspaper that published the offensive advert. Dont they have ethics. The quest for money is really causing havoc in this world.

ReplyDeleteGood for PDP,they've dissociated themselves from such 'foolishity'
FFK only succeeded in stating clearly the source of the advert not what they think about it. He didn't condemn the action #like Rueben Abati#

Opprobrious Gov Fayose. That was highly opprobrious. How could u sponsor such an incriminating advertorial, promoting vile propaganda. And PUNCH newspapers, wat is stopping d necessary bodies from automatically sanctioning ur news media?. Very demeaning things politicians do.
ReplyDelete...with all the young people dying these days, how can anybody think death claims by age...
ReplyDeleteAs my people will say, 'it's not only mature coconuts that falls off its tree'
My God grant us all long fruitful life in Jesus name... Amen
RIP Muna :(
May God save us all in this nation... Amen!
ReplyDeleteWell his opinion but dear Ayo you are so wrong. It is not a do oldie affair.
ReplyDeleteHe had better pray Buhari does not win the election cos he has or will automatically put his state in trouble. No better allocation shall come close to Ekiti people. Let him keep running his mouth. Cos a dying man will not have time to see to his state needs.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm na them sabi, @brown empress u a good writer I read ur comment in the previous post concerning ekiti state governor's saga. Will like to be ur friend.

ReplyDeleteIt's a personal opinion as confirmed by fani fayose but that doesn't mean the governor lied..i don't see the reason for the out cry simply because it's coming from an opposition..thank God for democracy
ReplyDeleteFani Fayose ke? Lmao
DeleteIt's just illiteracy dt is disturbing Nigeria. We shouldn't be taking politics as a do or die affairs. It simply shows we aren't who we say we re. Bc ppl with dignity doesn't make noise, dia actions n works makes noise for them.

ReplyDeleteSo when I discussed with my friends that Fayose will soon put himself and Ekiti into trouble they didn't believe me, I know very soon they regret casting their votes for Fayose. Meanwhile I await Patrick Obahiagbon's statement on these with my dictionary held close to moi. The flabbergasted flibbertigibbet ............... way (in Patrick's voice) *side eyes, wide one* picks race
ReplyDeleteas we are all entitled to vote and campaign for whoever we want; we have to respect life and others.fayose please do the right thing and apologise to buhari.I don't want him as a President but I don't also wish him dead.he is a human being like me and someone's father; grandfather and husband.
