The second term aspiration of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State to govern the state may have suffered a major setback as the people of Orlu Senatorial Zone where the governor hails have advised the governor to forget about his re-election bid as his first term was a disappointment to Imo State, particularly Orlu geo-political zone.
The apex socio-cultural organisation of the entire Orlu geo-political zone, Orlu Zurumee, who cautioned the governor against dabbling into the governorship race, threatened to mobilize forces against him should he disregard this warning.
According to them, “no man however great is greater than his own people. Okorocha’s second term will be a disaster”.
Disclosing this stance, when the new Caretaker Committee members of the organization led by its President General, Prince Macdonald Akano, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Imo State and South East Councils of Traditional Rulers in Owerri, Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, the Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of the organization, Chief. Ray Okoro, averred that “Rochas has failed us and there is nothing positive again he can offer Orlu people in particular and Imo people in general”.
The BOT chairman, who described Ilomuanya as a goal getter and pride to Imo State, stated that “Rochas said he will stay for only four years and that a good student does not repeat class. We are tired of him just as his re-election will be a disaster to Imo State. Let him go in peace? He said Orlu Zurumee is undergoing restructuring and therefore needed the support of well meaning Orlu people to achieve its aims.
Adducing reasons Governor Okorocha should be halted in his second term aspiration, the new President General of Orlu Zurumee and former Special Adviser on Project Monitoring to Governor Okorocha, Prince MacDonald Akano, argued that “Okorocha has over-stayed his welcome and that there is dire need for positive change in Imo State”.
Akano told Eze Ilomuanya, whom he described as a big masquerade that cannot be easily tossed around, that “when a true Igbo man takes over power by May 29, 2015 in Imo State, we will rejoice with you. Right now, we are in bondage”. He praised the monarch for promoting the identity of Ndigbo in Nigeria, positing that ‘as an asset the entire Orlu people are with you and your fight is our fight. -Dailyindependent reportage.

Okorocha all d way
DeleteKinsmen or no kinsmen
Any reasonable person will know that these people are politicians. The Eze ilomuanya they visited is not in good terms with the governor, in fact , they are in war over his kingship position. So that is what you should expect from there. Meanwhile, the masses are behind Rochas Okorocha.

ReplyDeleteThey aren't even concerned about the whole state. They are majorly concerned about orlu. Well, whatever
DeleteLol, of course they are right, charity they say begins @ home. He should just take a bow.
ReplyDeleteNo be small hian. Election matter. Do me i do you, God no go vex nai be this oooo. Promise and fail has backfired
ReplyDeleteOkorocha need to really sit down. and examine himself. I think something is wrong somewhere. He has been a popular well known politician for years yet it seem he is not moving forward. I expect him to be a mover and shaker in Nigeria by now,
ReplyDeleteAlas, he is not even well liked among Igbos. So he need an image launder and a deep heart to heart.
*drops mic*
He is not well liked cos he doesn't allow them spend Govt moni recklessly. I went to Owerri during the festive season and was impressed with what he did. What did his predecessor do? Abeggi!
DeleteRochas is a coward n doesn't deserve to be reelected, selling our Igbo birthright to a Yoruba party what a shame! All in d name of presidential aspirant. God will remove u.
ReplyDeleteYou are as stupid as hell
DeleteMake Ibos or Igbos form their own party now and form an alliance with another ethnic bloc .... What happened to APGA ? Fucking sell outs
DeleteChoi. So much tribalism. We need to expunge this newly imbibed habit of being tribalistic at any opportunity. It will break Nigeria apart should we continue at this rate.
DeleteI've always wondered why yorubas and igbos have never formed a national political alliance in nigeria? Together with the s/s and middle belt, such an alliance will surely be the most progressive in nigeria's history? But no, ingrained ethnic hatred amongst igbos and yorubas will never let this happen, and this always plays into the favour of the Hausas. Look at the political history in nigeria - 1st republic hausa/igbo, 2nd republic - hausa/igbo (running mates), 3rd republic - (yoruba/hausa, hausa/ijaw etc).
DeleteIF IGBO & YORUBA FORM ALLIAINCE (even if they don't present presidential candidates), WILL THE WORLD COME TO AN END?? Is this type of alliance not happening because Nigerian politics is controlled by old, deeply tribalistic men?
I need someone from Owerri nchi ise to contest n win. nuf of ORO
ReplyDeleteThat man is more of a Hausa man than an Ibo man...I was excepting this. Hypocrite elite that call themselves politicians.
ReplyDelete*who the cap fits, let him wear it*

@Galore
I don't know much about Imo state and whether or not Gov Rochas has performed well, but these people seem to be disgruntled elements who perhaps did not get the share of the national cake they were hoping for. Fighting against their own. #shaking my head#
ReplyDeleteOkorocha is a failure
ReplyDeleteThese people are not from Orlu and they cannot speak for Orlu peoples interest. These are the people we should beware of, evil people who cannot differentiate good from bad. Blind men, their dids are in darkness, destroyers, agents of Satan.

ReplyDeleteWhere is my comment
ReplyDeleteAll the politicians are decievers
ReplyDeleteNigerian politics!!!!!! so because Rochas dethroned ilomuanya because of his criminal activities,he feels now that he can get back at him.A criminal who should be hiding is now fighting openly, yet when a poor man steals a pen,he gets jail sentence. Nigeria my country!!! which way forward???????
ReplyDeleteIf his kinsmen aint his support system then his chances are slim. When they are suppose to work they won't, now he's seeking a re-election.
ReplyDeleteWhat do u know?
DeleteI feel so sorry for Igbo people. They keep cutting their nose to spite their face all in the name of hating Yoruba people.

ReplyDeletePolitics is a dirty game jare.....
ReplyDeleteHe's a big disgrace..
ReplyDeleteOkorocha punishes Orlu because of a few persons oppoased to him, that's bad. Okorocha does all his development projects in Owerri, except for few double lane roads he started in Orlu at the early stage.
