A former son-in-law to ex- aviation minister, Kema Chikwe, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a case of obtaining by false pretence.
Dumebi Kachikwu, an Abuja-based multi-millionaire was arrested on the evening of Friday, January 9th when he turned himself over to EFCC custody.
EFCC operatives had previously raided his No 27 Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja home in the early hours of same day and executed a search warrant of the property.
On December 23, 2004 the EFCC had invited Kachikwu for questioning following a petition from Ndudi Elumelu, Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Health, who until recently was governorship aspirant in Delta State.
The petitioner claimed that Kachikwu fleeced him of N750million under the guise of helping him to actualize his dream of emerging flag bearer of the PDP in Delta State. Dumebi Kachikwu is a business associate of a national vice chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to emerging reports, Kachikwu had allegedly flaunted his connection to bigwigs of the PDP at national and state levels, telling the petitioner that he needed the money to persuade the executives of the party in supporting his political ambitions in Delta State. However, Kachikwu failed to deliver on his promise as the complainant was unable to secure a coveted political position in Delta State.
Kachikwu was initially supposed to report to the EFCC on December 24, 2014 but failed to do so. A source close to the investigation informed SaharaReporters that the suspect had pleaded for additional time and promised to hand himself over to the EFCC on January 8.

Several incriminating documents as well as five luxury vehicles were recovered during an operation that lasted for about two hours.
At press time, Kachikwu was still being interrogated by investigators at the Idiagbon House, home of the operations department of the EFCC.-saharareporters cullage

ReplyDeleteThis is the kind or open corruption that has become a trademark of GEJ's government. He calls it "mere stealing" though.
ReplyDeleteIs this Ndudi a mumu?
He's been in the House for years. He's still behaving like a novice, handing over such crazy amounts to someone whose main means of livelihood is fraud.
Is it Ndudi's fault?
The money apparently came from the billions he stole from the Electricity contracts.
Till today, nothing has come out of that shameful case. And he's there contesting to be a governor.
Just like GEJ is dancing round Nigeria while International media keep telling us about thousands killed by BH everyday. I'm shocked we are now used to evil, it's no longer news in Nigeria when a whole village is massacred.
Can Nigerians see we can never get electricity or in fact anything else from GEJ's government?
Not to worry sha, shey he said he gave us twitter and Facebook already.
Baby girl,I always shy away from discussing politics on Sdk but did Iyabo Obasanjo, kenny martins, aborisade not embezzle during Obasanjo"s tenure????????
DeleteThis is not a Jonathan thing,is Buhari a saint??????is his no 2 man Tinubu not a criminal?????????
Like I said I don't like discussing politics here cos politics is a nasty business.
Let's be neutral because all these politicians are one and d same.
Good morning Love.
Good morning darling.
DeleteAll those you mentioned are rogues too and I don't support them.
I am constantly reminded of Nigeria's sad state, brought about by corruption.
GEJ is on the saddle now, so I'm directing my grievances at him. He's had 6 years to make at least one change but he's failed woefully.
I would love GEJ to be voted out, simple because we Nigerians need. To tell our leaders that if u don't do any thing while inn power, our votes n. Voices will be heard.Even if Buhari gets in n nothing is been done, our voices n votes will get him out. We need to change the way we think in this country. These leaders r there to work for us not enrich themselves at the detriment of the masses.Pls let's do d. Needful,we don't need a soothsayers to tell us our economic has n is still dwindling
DeleteEzenwanyi ki lo wi? Haba u should know better than to compare corruption with absolute corruption. Why can we not compare them with those who did it right? This is why Jonathan can shamefully say in public that his governance is not as corrupt as that of his predecessors. Should we even be talking about corruption at all? Not to talk of comparing who stole more....o ti su mi o. this is backwardness and it is embarrassing. Corruption should be eradicated in its totality jare.
DeleteOh! EFCC is back on duty? Thought they are on break lately since the boss himself is busy with campaigns and returning to power. As usual, the story will end with he's being acquitted. *make I go sleep jor*
ReplyDeleteAre we not all missing a salient point here?
DeleteSomeone who paid 750million to get the pdp ticket, what would he have done if he had gotten the ticket and won the election? Na to replace the money first before he starts to chop his share of the national cake.
Na God catch the two of them.
Hmmm omila 2015
ReplyDeleteNa wa!
ReplyDeleteNa real wah!
Delete#750 million?
ReplyDeleteLuke 6:38 NLT
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. ”
Which way Nigeria??
ReplyDeleteBusiness gone wrong, same corrupt Ndudi Elumelu who embezzled 5.2 billion Naira for rural electrification fraud contract right? How did Ndudi Elumelu get 750million to pay out just to one person if not money he stole years ago. When he was being prosecuted Jonathan administration protected him because i can remember then President Yar Adua wanted to prosecute the criminal, he even claimed Yar Adua was trying to harass him and the case died a natural death at Abuja high court. Mugu paying out 750M in a desperate bid to govern a state very sad.
ReplyDeleteWell Kachikwu has used your money to buy Roll Royce wraith and Range Rover.
All the people governing our delta state are ZERO GOVERNORS ( past and present) with all the billions allocated to the state noting to show for it. Our delta oil money goes to criminals while the poor can’t even afford 2 square meal. Efcc should first rearrest Ndudi Elumelu because the money he paid out is part of our stolen fund. Anyway the matter will die off in few days no be naija.
Yes,the defrauded is first of all a bigger thief.750mill?omg!
Delete...now these are the jailbound_box in crates candidates for Buhari.
Shame on this ass called Jonathan for always protecting criminals.for whatever reason??smh
Jaymoore I have been reading all your anti Jonathan comments. This one is the craziest and crappiest of all your thrash talk. When you said yaraadua wanted to persecute him if I am not mistaken was Jonathan not part of that government. So how did Jonathan's adminstration protect him?. It is easy for your people to complain and castigate a president because you don't know how his shoes may hurt ...who is better? Buhari. Mschwwwww. He will never ever be president. How old is he. He is older than my grand dad. If he likes he should keep dying his hair and wearing ridiculous outfits he is still an old man. Why does he want to kill himself? Is his heart strong enough? Mschwwwww . it has never been done. An aspirant can never overthrow a current president. Buhari will still fail and it will be Jonathan 2 buhari 0.
Delete@ anon 10.59 that's u will have failure all ur life.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
Delete@Anonymous 10:59 you can carry on attacking my comment and that of @lovelace. Thank God you read my craziest and crappiest comments about the problem the current administration has dragged us Nigerians into. You are GEJ supporter fine with us but i only stand for the best person to take us out of the problems we are faced as a nation. You claimed Buhari is an old man well that’s no excuse for performance by the way what has old age got to do with performance in leadership? we have a young president the past 6years what’s his greatest achievement apart from corruption and mismanagement? More than 20million Nigeria youth are jobless. Can you mention how many jobs he created the past 4years? is those job visible? if they are we won’t see people sending cv’s to stella for jobs. If you support the rot in the nation blindly due to sentiment i won’t, i am not sentimental i want the best leader to take me to the promised land and the current president has failed us.
DeleteLet remind you that most of us who castigate/criticise your president has got good life and we also want change, we know the dividend of democracy, we won’t be coward into supporting a non performing leader because we are christians or south south/igbo such believes are for sycophants like you. I have lived in a democratic society for the past 18years and i know my rights unlike you, my rights are to have decent water, 24hours light, construction of good roads not patched, investing in youths not allocating billions to feed themselves in Aso Rock, Free education, free medical treatment, good security system, railway not locomotive train built by Chinese.
I am not an hausa guy, i will support a disciplined old man(grandfather) as my president than a corrupt young man who refused to publish his account as required by the law for the past years.
“An aspirant can never overthrow a current president” (I shake my head reading your ignorant comment, you mean overthrow current president as in Nigeria or all over the world?
Use the below links to educate yourself you will read why he protected Ndudi Elumelu and read why we need change because another 4years of his rule will be Hail.

ReplyDeleteWhere did he see 750 million? Where? Efcc Una dey gbogbo cigar. Bloody baskelebe.
Dumebi has been a scammer since the days of Noah. Bitch you knew. Let's be clear. They will settle and this matter will die by Wednesday.
In a working society, that Elumelu guy shud be arrested for giving into bribe
ReplyDeleteDis ur name get K-leg oooh. I beg ebola matter give many people high BP, no bring ebola family enter here oooh
DeleteWere is d like button for Jay Moore,u said it all
ReplyDeleteSo Elemule has 750m to spare for political bribing and he still wants to be governor? Greeeeddddd.....
ReplyDeleteSo many issues in Nigeria, we don't even know where to start! If Elumelu paid 750m and didn't get the ticket, I wonder how much Okowa(PDP flagship bearer) paid to get the ticket.
ReplyDeleteIt all narrows down to the same corruption. These monies belong to the people of Delta state but is been shared amongst a set of people.
One of the NDDC director got married to his 3rd wife yesterday and wore a 4.9milliom naire suit....let's not go into the total cost oof that wedding....How did he make all that money....corruption.
I could go on and on....The truth is that we need Change....Will Buhari bring the chane we need? I don't know I honestly don't know. Happy Sunday pple.
My dear I no hear word for that wedding for my bbm. 4.9 million Naira just on his suit.

Ndudi is a shameless man. He should be locked up. Where did he get such money from? A terrible man. Lacks morals. Always asking women to send nude pics to him. A sick man! Smh
ReplyDeleteHahahaha.
DeleteSo u know him too.
Lol you sabi him well
DeleteOnly a matter of time before the case disappears and we won't hear a word on it again..
ReplyDeleteNa today
Oriegwu!
ReplyDeleteSee how they waste money.
Issokay !!!!! Thief thief am thief collect am but seriously ooo 750M no be joke money oooo
ReplyDeleteNot shocked, coming from a corrupt administration anything is possible. This is the same government who can barely pay minimum wage and even create employment opportunities. Crying at every slight opportunity that government expenses are skyrocketing everyday. A single individual with no known source of income only that he is a federal lawmaker can make available such huge some to via to steal from the masses as a governorship aspirant. There is no difference from the master who allocated 4billion on food and refreshments only for the monies to be drafted in paying for the weddings of his adopted children. Na only for AFRICA you see government resources be managed as INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY RESOURCES.
ReplyDeleteShut up.... Is Jonathan the problem in Nigeria. Why is everything his fault. How was Nigeria before he became president...gosh. I hate all this stupid comments about him being the problem. Lovelace or whatever if u have a chance to be an ordinary councillor in a local govt how much work can be done. ....
DeleteYou are plain STUPID. YES Jonathan is the problem and everything is his fault. STICK IT UP YOUR FOOLISH ASS..
DeleteLovewerey what bout ur dirty ass? Let's try dat u scum
DeleteAnd he would be fucking girls without condom and giving them 50k. So he has 750M to waste? Nonsense. Dumebi enjoy d money, we arr solidly behind u. Atleast u dey settle well n dey use condom.
ReplyDelete*Yawns*

DeleteI begged this ndudi for scholarship. Tended my credentials. Yet dude want to hit. Bluffed him and walked away. Now I have my degree and all. And can still rub shoulders with his likes. Ladies know your worth
And he would be fucking girls without condom and giving them 50k. So he has 750M to waste? Nonsense. Dumebi enjoy d money, we arr solidly behind u. Atleast u dey settle well n dey use condom.

ReplyDeleteNdudi ntorrr. being paid for what you did to your first wife. a beg Dumebi chop serious knuckle
ReplyDeleteHeard from his family member the first wife was seriously into jazz. The second one nko? I see him regularly here in London. Sometimes with his kids. And he looks as if he can't hurt a fly.
DeleteHeard from his family member the first wife was seriously into jazz. Lies oshi. Is that the story the fake family member is pushing?
ReplyDelete@Anon 7:30 dats a lie from the pit of Hell Nkiru was never into jazz no her family wella from childhood.Ndudi Godwin Elumelu wasn't. nice!!
ReplyDeleteGood, Elumelu and his cohort Austin Elumelu and Augustine Ugah, Aka Rasta defrauded me over 300k after installing 22 of his political banners without paying me, their ordeal only just started God will definitely punish these criminals.
ReplyDeleteAs a christian, I am meant to believe that anything that happens, happens for a reason, and that God knows and sees it before it happens, like God knew me, even before I was born. So I think in a way, its a payback for enriching himself with money meant for the masses. All the wicked shall perish one by one in this country. Is the said 750 million accounted for? where did he get such amount of money from? And is bribery now legal in Nigeria... EFCC do your work properly. Corruption is corruption and in this case, they are both liable to goto jail.
ReplyDeleteNdudi Elumelu is a desperate man oooooh. How can a man who is always boasting of having a life out of politics and being clean also be so desperate? Is he afraid of life after politics? If he is truly a man of GOD as he professes, he should know that it is only GOD that cannot fail. He failed at the primaries despite his family pedigree, party connection, presidential connection, wealth, fortune, class, N750 million bribe and millions squandered on campaign.....what a shame. Dumebi Kachikwu is a smart dude, saw a desperate man and smiled to bank.
ReplyDelete
