Kema Chikwe’s Ex-Son-In-Law,Dumebi Kachikwu Held In N750 Million Scam

A former son-in-law to ex- aviation minister, Kema Chikwe, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a case of obtaining by false pretence.

Dumebi Kachikwu, an Abuja-based multi-millionaire was arrested on the evening of Friday, January 9th when he turned himself over to EFCC custody.

EFCC operatives had previously raided his No 27 Gana Street, Maitama, Abuja home in the early hours of same day and executed a search warrant of the property.
On December 23, 2004 the EFCC had invited Kachikwu for questioning following a petition from Ndudi Elumelu, Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Health, who until recently was governorship aspirant in Delta State.

The petitioner claimed that Kachikwu fleeced him of N750million under the guise of helping him to actualize his dream of emerging flag bearer of the PDP in Delta State. Dumebi Kachikwu is a business associate of a national vice chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to emerging reports, Kachikwu had allegedly flaunted his connection to bigwigs of the PDP at national and state levels, telling the petitioner that he needed the money to persuade the executives of the party in supporting his political ambitions in Delta State. However, Kachikwu failed to deliver on his promise as the complainant was unable to secure a coveted political position in Delta State.

Kachikwu was initially supposed to report to the EFCC on December 24, 2014 but failed to do so. A source close to the investigation informed SaharaReporters that the suspect had pleaded for additional time and promised to hand himself over to the EFCC on January 8.
“When we waited for him on January 8 and he did not report we decided to act, having already secured a warrant for his arrest,” the source informed SaharaReporters.

Several incriminating documents as well as five luxury vehicles were recovered during an operation that lasted for about two hours.
At press time, Kachikwu was still being interrogated by investigators at the Idiagbon House, home of the operations department of the EFCC.-saharareporters cullage

He PAID out 750million just to secure ticket?seven hundred and fifty million?

  6. This is the kind or open corruption that has become a trademark of GEJ's government. He calls it "mere stealing" though.

    Is this Ndudi a mumu?

He's been in the House for years. He's still behaving like a novice, handing over such crazy amounts to someone whose main means of livelihood is fraud.

    Is it Ndudi's fault?
The money apparently came from the billions he stole from the Electricity contracts.
Till today, nothing has come out of that shameful case. And he's there contesting to be a governor.

Just like GEJ is dancing round Nigeria while International media keep telling us about thousands killed by BH everyday. I'm shocked we are now used to evil, it's no longer news in Nigeria when a whole village is massacred.

Can Nigerians see we can never get electricity or in fact anything else from GEJ's government?

Not to worry sha, shey he said he gave us twitter and Facebook already.

All those you mentioned are rogues too and I don't support them.

I am constantly reminded of Nigeria's sad state, brought about by corruption.

GEJ is on the saddle now, so I'm directing my grievances at him. He's had 6 years to make at least one change but he's failed woefully.

    4. Ezenwanyi ki lo wi? Haba u should know better than to compare corruption with absolute corruption. Why can we not compare them with those who did it right? This is why Jonathan can shamefully say in public that his governance is not as corrupt as that of his predecessors. Should we even be talking about corruption at all? Not to talk of comparing who stole more....o ti su mi o. this is backwardness and it is embarrassing. Corruption should be eradicated in its totality jare.

  9. Business gone wrong, same corrupt Ndudi Elumelu who embezzled 5.2 billion Naira for rural electrification fraud contract right? How did Ndudi Elumelu get 750million to pay out just to one person if not money he stole years ago. When he was being prosecuted Jonathan administration protected him because i can remember then President Yar Adua wanted to prosecute the criminal, he even claimed Yar Adua was trying to harass him and the case died a natural death at Abuja high court. Mugu paying out 750M in a desperate bid to govern a state very sad.
Well Kachikwu has used your money to buy Roll Royce wraith and Range Rover.
All the people governing our delta state are ZERO GOVERNORS ( past and present) with all the billions allocated to the state noting to show for it. Our delta oil money goes to criminals while the poor can’t even afford 2 square meal. Efcc should first rearrest Ndudi Elumelu because the money he paid out is part of our stolen fund. Anyway the matter will die off in few days no be naija.

    2. Jaymoore I have been reading all your anti Jonathan comments. This one is the craziest and crappiest of all your thrash talk. When you said yaraadua wanted to persecute him if I am not mistaken was Jonathan not part of that government. So how did Jonathan's adminstration protect him?. It is easy for your people to complain and castigate a president because you don't know how his shoes may hurt ...who is better? Buhari. Mschwwwww. He will never ever be president. How old is he. He is older than my grand dad. If he likes he should keep dying his hair and wearing ridiculous outfits he is still an old man. Why does he want to kill himself? Is his heart strong enough? Mschwwwww . it has never been done. An aspirant can never overthrow a current president. Buhari will still fail and it will be Jonathan 2 buhari 0.

    5. @Anonymous 10:59 you can carry on attacking my comment and that of @lovelace. Thank God you read my craziest and crappiest comments about the problem the current administration has dragged us Nigerians into. You are GEJ supporter fine with us but i only stand for the best person to take us out of the problems we are faced as a nation. You claimed Buhari is an old man well that’s no excuse for performance by the way what has old age got to do with performance in leadership? we have a young president the past 6years what’s his greatest achievement apart from corruption and mismanagement? More than 20million Nigeria youth are jobless. Can you mention how many jobs he created the past 4years? is those job visible? if they are we won’t see people sending cv’s to stella for jobs. If you support the rot in the nation blindly due to sentiment i won’t, i am not sentimental i want the best leader to take me to the promised land and the current president has failed us.

Let remind you that most of us who castigate/criticise your president has got good life and we also want change, we know the dividend of democracy, we won’t be coward into supporting a non performing leader because we are christians or south south/igbo such believes are for sycophants like you. I have lived in a democratic society for the past 18years and i know my rights unlike you, my rights are to have decent water, 24hours light, construction of good roads not patched, investing in youths not allocating billions to feed themselves in Aso Rock, Free education, free medical treatment, good security system, railway not locomotive train built by Chinese.
I am not an hausa guy, i will support a disciplined old man(grandfather) as my president than a corrupt young man who refused to publish his account as required by the law for the past years.

“An aspirant can never overthrow a current president” (I shake my head reading your ignorant comment, you mean overthrow current president as in Nigeria or all over the world?

Use the below links to educate yourself you will read why he protected Ndudi Elumelu and read why we need change because another 4years of his rule will be Hail.

Crying at every slight opportunity that government expenses are skyrocketing everyday. A single individual with no known source of income only that he is a federal lawmaker can make available such huge some to via to steal from the masses as a governorship aspirant. There is no difference from the master who allocated 4billion on food and refreshments only for the monies to be drafted in paying for the weddings of his adopted children. Na only for AFRICA you see government resources be managed as INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY RESOURCES.

Is the said 750 million accounted for? where did he get such amount of money from? And is bribery now legal in Nigeria... EFCC do your work properly. He failed at the primaries despite his family pedigree, party connection, presidential connection, wealth, fortune, class, N750 million bribe and millions squandered on campaign.....what a shame. Dumebi Kachikwu is a smart dude, saw a desperate man and smiled to bank.
