PROBLEM NUMBER ONE
PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS
Hello Docs, please I feel pregnant, as in all the symptoms complete, nausea, morning sickness, vomiting, tummy getting bigger et al, however, my periods have been regular and constant, in fact in December, the flow was extremely heavy. I've done blood pregnancy test which came out Negative, I did it 3ce and the result was all negative.
I did a scan which saw nothing but myoma which has been there like forever before I even had my 2 kids.
What could be the matter with me? Scan says no pregnancy, blood test says no pregnancy. Yet the symptoms and discomfort prevails. I'm not looking to having any more kids as I already have to with the youngest being 11months old. I am both worried and scared.
Is this normal?has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
AH!

PROBLEM TWO
SWOLLEN FEET AND CRAVING
Every woman has different symptoms and no two pregnancies are alike.you just have to look for a way to deal with yours.
every time you sit down elevate your feet and do not take any drugs to reduce swelling. If it gets worse see your doctor to check if there is a problem.
My symptoms during preggy was horrible. My nose ballooned 100 times,I lost my beautiful skin tone,my hair grew like a forest and i was spitting about two bucketful everyday.spitting as in pouring
out like a water fall oh.
Someone probably has shared your symptoms and will help you with tips,Good luck with the preggy.
SWOLLEN FEET AND CRAVING
I am expecting, it's my first and many different things just come up with one discomfort or the other. I am not trying to complain o I am forever grateful to God for this baby.
I need help my feet are swollen for Africa and it's now very heavy and painful, tried all sorts recommend by the Doctors especially salt reduction and always raising the legs when sitting and sleeping but it's still same old story. If there is anyone who can help with stuff that can help reduce it because even walking now is like hard work and I still have about 18 weeks to go.
Also I have been craving Lipton tea with no cream or sugar, is it safe? I know coffee isn't too good bit I am not sure about tea bag.
Stella don't sidon look for this matter o, I know you have experience so your input is welcome also. Thanks a lot

Av always used veet shaving cream but it grows back so fast . Pls I need something stronger with a longer effect or somewhere I can get waxed here in abuja.
DeletePoster 2: I think you have oedema, I hope that's how it's spelt. Have you been monitoring your BP (Blood pressure). Take long walks, worry less and always put your feet up. Try exercising as well, I am in my 3rd trimester and I still go for aquanatals. Exercising but in a pool, try it dear, it's very relaxing.
DeleteAs for cravings, welcome to my world ooooo, I hate anything swallow, but now I am oga of eba and amala with ewedu.... God have mercy. Chill on the lipton though if it has caffeine, u don't wanna add that to your swollen feet..... Asokale anfani fun wa ooooo.....
I hope my comment didn't vanish ooooo.....
DeletePreggy poster, lipton contains large amount of caffeine in it. Tkin it occasionally won't harm ur baby buh d wae u said u r craving it, it won't b gud for ur baby. Tk wv caution
DeletePoster1 just chill, might b smetin else, take ur mind off it and take a lot of rest!
DeletePoster2 my friend had same issues and she used aboniki balm to massage her feet! Tho it was painful cos I massaged her once but it went down totally! Also take a walk once in a day!
Goodluck!
And just to add, lipton isn't bad if u crave it, just use 1 teabag, most pregnant ladies take it to reduce d size of their baby, but since urs is smetin u crave for, u can take it in little quantity!
DeletePoster 1,pls go for a proper scan again o.u are not pregnant
DeleteGo to Nanad Spa in wuse2, the street behind Rockview Hotel. Good value for money spent.
DeleteWalk more, drink lots of water so you will pass urine frequently. nothing to worry symptoms of pregnancy. just my first pregnancy had similar symptoms but from 2nd to 4 th no feet swelling. pregnancy with diff symptoms. its well with you
DeletePoster 1- it may be your menstrual period. Sometimes they come with signs such as those of pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteIt should pass.
Poster 2- your swollen feet is oedema. Pls always sit and raise your legs up. Fluid is settling so much on your feet. Its not healthy for your pregnancy.
All the best and have a safe and easy birthing.
Babes, is oedema the same as pre eclampsia??...her symptoms are just like my friend's. It was so bad, they had no choice but to do a c section to take the baby out way before her due date. Poster 2, you need to have your blood pressure taken to check how high it is. Pre eclampsia is deadly (sorry to scare you) so see your GP right away. Tea bags are okay (well, that's what my midwife said and in the new mum packs they give, there is always a satchet of tea bags so no worries about that one)I had a cup of PGtips everyday.
DeleteIts not all swollen feet that is oedema, some women just tend to have very swollen feet during pregnancy, @d same time bloglord might be right. Poster hope u check ur blood pressure regularly? That should be ur number 1 concern, if ur blood pressure is fine n ur protein (in urine) level is fine u ve nothing to worry about, but if these two are not ok, u need special attention, like being admitted in the hospital immediately, good luck dear, remember to pray always. I'm also expecting, it takes God only God.
DeleteDuring my 2nd pregnancy my legs were swollen and I didn't have high blood pressure and everything was normal. If u doctors says no cause for alarm just raise ur leg a bit, don't wear tight shoe put on free slippers even too work,ur comfort. Comes first
DeleteBL how far na? So Esah is a male? I didn't know o, your comment in IHN is how I know. Interesting. Anyway please let the issue slide you hear. You know why? I usually do not ask anyone who's angry to stop, cos i also like to go all out when I'm upset. But I don't see Esah as one who's troublesome here. I may be wrong but that's just my observation. U hear love? E don do pele.
DeleteGenny baby oo Genny baby ooo Jenifaaaa... make I sing small for you. lol. I dey look for you o. Ehn ehn, you know you always tell me to leave matters when I go on and on too, and I always listen to you out of respect because not many will take time out to address issues here, rather they'll read on and enjoy the fracas for however long it lasts. I know it's interesting when you are not the one in the boxing ring, to read and entertain yourself. But for you my dear, I can't look the other way.
Yes I'm talking about Bitchplis. Genny the guy don apologise tire. I beg you to let it slide. There's nothing anyone here can do about it, we can't undo his blunder. If he was non apologetic I would be worried. But apologising excessively shows he's sorry, shows he holds people here in high esteem, and that should settle it. Please don't make an enemy of him. By now you should have mastered the character of every moniker here...Bitchplis is a free and funny dude and I love reading his comments but never take him serious. It's part of the fun.
I also condemned him for the gist that he gave that has now boomeranged... let it go darling ok? I trust he will not try it again now that he understands the moral implication.
**kiss kiss**

ReplyDelete...and yea Lipton isn't bad at all.
ReplyDeleteCoffee, No!
What's not good is d caffein content of tea or coffee, and I do believe Lipton has it in its tea, so I beg to differ, Blorlord.
DeletePoster 1- I don't understand o
ReplyDeletePoster 2- I had the same problem, my feet were like I had elephantiasis. In fact my mom cried when she saw me. I tried everything, reduced salt, raised my feet, nothing worked, but immediately that bundle of joy came out from my loins it was like nothing happened and everything went back to normal gradually
Not qualify to comment yet.... make I siddon wait for comments
ReplyDeleteLady preggo, with ur swollen feet, hope it's not accompanied with headache. If yes, fly urself to the hospital for protein test. U are allowed just 2 cups of tea a day.
ReplyDeleteSafe delivery love
She doesn't have to wait to have headache before going to the hospital. Just go there and have your Bp checked and a urinalysis to check for protein in urine. Pre eclampsia starts, after 20 weeks, it might be in its early state. If however urine is negative for protein and your Bp is fine, then there's nothing to be worried about
Deleteall the best.

Poster 2. I had similar thing during my pregnancy. Mine was as a result of high blood pressure and too much protein in my urine known as pre- enclampsia. So they had to take my baby out as quickly as possible. Not trying to scare you but do try check if your blood pressure is fine.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong wit Lipton in pregnancy, it is very safe, for those who don't like beverages in pregnancy, Lipton should do. I don't take beverages during pregnancy, cos if I do I will puke all day, it doesn't go with my system during pregnancy @all, I'm very comfortable with Lipton during pregnancy, this is my second preg anyway....

ReplyDeleteP1: I think it's called phantom pregnancy or so, am not really sure, where your psych plays a trick on you. It won't be a bad idea to seek other doctors' opinion. Just relax your mind and nurse your 11months baby.
ReplyDeleteP2: Listen to your doctor and make sure your blood pressure is monitored, no matter how silly it seems or sounds make sure to tell your doc your concerns ok, he/she is in a better position to advice you. Don't worry you'll be fine.
Not been there yet, lemme read nd learn.....safe delivery to all pregnant women

poster 2, i had same symptom but did not have difficulty in walking. reduce intake of salt, elevate you legs when sitting and sleeping. when i searched google i found a tip that worked for me: DRINK MORE WATER. At first i was like i am trying to reduce my swollen feet drink more water ke. But alas i tried it, elevated my feet and voila. My husband was the first to notice the reduction. so google and you may find a tip that works
ReplyDeletewill be back to read comments
ReplyDeletePoster 1, I hope it's not ectopic pregnancy? Don't mean to scare you but you need to go back to the hospital for proper check-up.
ReplyDeletePoster 2, it's normal for pregnancy, I experienced the same. Excercise daily by walking for at least 30 mins every early morning or evening. This will help circulate the fluid in your body as they tend to settle on your feet. Safe delivery dear
Postal if the blood test n scan comes nagative stop worrying urself it could be other signs of ilness. Postal 2 d same thing happend to me in my first pregnancy try to elevate ur legs less salt n do long trecking no matter how heavy ur legs are try to walk abt wish u safe delivering.
ReplyDeletePoster 1, if this was your first pregnancy now, I'd say it's your mind playing tricks on you as you're very expectant, hence the symptoms you're experiencing. As it is now, Sis, I'd recommend that you go to a different hospital and run a full hormonal assay.2nd &3rd opinions are usually best sought in medical cases. What eludes one doctor, would most likely be picked by another.
ReplyDeleteIf after all that, and your hormonal levels are still found to be normal, then you've got to work on your mind. Tell your body it's not pregnant and should STOP acting pregnant.
Btw, pray about it too. Not like it's something serious or your life is on the line, but it's discomforting you nau and there's nothing too small we can't talk to God about. Cheers.
Poster 2, don't let people deceive you o. Edema is NOT normal in pregnancy. The fact that it commonly occurs in pregnant women does not mean it is normal. It's my line, I know what I'm talking about. Please ur gynae.
Btw, congrats on your pregnancy.
POster 2: Just make sure that your Gynae is on top of the issue. Have your blood pressure checked and all that.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe delivery soonest.
Poster 1: Maybe you should see another doctor. I don't know.
Yes please do not take caffeine. It's highly present in coffee. And like 4mg of it is in lipton too. It's minimal in lipton, hence you can take it once in a while if you feel like (except if u have a high BP alrdy) but it's not something you should crave as such as such if you can help it.
ReplyDeleteCaffeine is a stimulant. It improves mental alertness and help one stay awake but comes with its side effects too like increase of BP, dependence (addiction) etc.
Physiologically, pregnancy slightly increases the BP at some point, so why double the effect wt caffeine.
@ no 1 I have no idea whats wrong with you. Hang in there you will be fine. As far as the doctors and scans say you are not pregnant, I think you should just relax.
ReplyDeletePoster 2: please monitor your BP and exercise more, if you are pregnant with multiple babies, it could also explain your extreme symptoms. See your doctor and follow his advice religiously, don't worry you will soon birth your bundle of joy.
ReplyDeleteBTW...So i went to the hospital yesterday for a routine check up, heard from the nurses that a patient just put to bed, na so I rush go look new baby. Awwww! There is nothing more adorable than a new born baby, he looked so cute, innocent and adorable. I even asked the mom to dash me...lol
STELLA THIS YOUR OWN SYMPTOMS IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS MINE OO WITH THIS SPIT LEVELS!
ReplyDeleteP1; NO IDEA P: JUST TO A PROTEIN TEST TO CHECK AND ALSO RELAX YOURSELF AS MUCH AS U CAN, ALL THE BEST TO YOU TWO

I will most definitely sit this one out. I pray you find tips to help ease your discomfort poster 1 and 2
ReplyDeleteIt could be hormonal change, my sister normally experience such still no preggy, God will answer her this year Amen.
ReplyDelete#2Your swollen is normal and salt has nothing to do with it, just the fluid isn't flowing n it settles on the feet. Keeping raising your feet, sit on the floor n spread legs, use pillow to support your feet while sleeping dn't face up but lie on one side (left side)... its importanter. Wishing u safe delivery.
I advise you see a doctor as soon as you can

Poster 2: Please insist on proper screening and test and be very prayerful because most times pre-eclamsia goes unnoticed in some people.Especially in women in their mid thirties to forties.
ReplyDeleteHad the same experience and am not even Thirty in all three of my pregnancies.
@Anon. 13:52 aren't you lucky your doctors knew and could save your baby @32wks.Mine was not discovered until my baby died @32wks.just the swollen legs no other symptom.same thing happened with my second pregnancy and my baby came out weighing 1.8kg @39wks and 4days.No headache,no protein in my urine, scan showed the baby was over weight at 34wks but was that small at almost 40wks.Thank God for God my son is the healthiest and smartest and most intelligent 2yrs old you can ever meet.yes even the doctors didn't believe he was going to make it.his my little miracle my Gods precious gift.
#1:In own my case,i was pregnant and still mensurating.pregnant test came out negative, scan said empty sac and yet the pregnancy signs were overwhelming.i only decided to sit back and watch events unfold.
ReplyDelete5months after,i felt him move.i went for scan and it was empty sac still.i wanted to lose faith and believe in the doctors report but i had a dream where i saw myself trying to do some exercise but noticed that i had this pain in my abdomen that could only be pregnancy,i woke up and consoled myself and decided to carry this 'imaginary' pregnancy.
i went to God in prayers, asking him not let me suffer in vain, the symptons were really something else, and to top it all,the belly was not that huge,it was little but it made me so fat.it was not easy carrying a pregnancy, that no ones believes in,but i never stopped praying.
9months later,my beautiful miracle popped out.he is so cute!!!!!!. and i know he will rule his world.
madam, please keep hoping and praying.9months isnt that long you know. and did i forget to tell that i never missed my period.
Are U joking or something? Am asking bcos am going through same condition and am thinking of going to see my gynea tomorrow. Pls tell me more. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteHmmm Stella so you were dribbling like an imbecile . Hope you used bib .
ReplyDeletePoster 1: Sounds like pseudocyesis. You will need a complete hormonal profile. See your gynaecologist.
ReplyDeletePoster 2: Leg swelling (pedal oedema) in pregnancy is common place and quite normal, however, you should have your blood pressure and urine checked constantly. If all is clear, then reduce your salt intake, elevate your lower limbs and take walks. Above all, please see your obstetrician, and don't take drugs for it unless as recommended by him/her. I wish you a safe delivery.
Poster 2 talk with ur doctor. Folic acid may help.
