An armed robbery gang led by Shehu Somoye, a former aide to Dimeji Bankole, raided a Foursquare gospel church in Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta and carted away N6 million cash from the church, alongside cash and other valuables from congregants.
Following a distress call during the operation, the Ogun State Anti robbery Squad Police men surrounded the church.
In a tussle with the robbers, police bullets hit Somoye in the leg, while a Bareta pistol was recovered from him and was arrested.
"Somoye, a former aide to Dimeji Bankole was hit by police bullets and a police pistol was recovered from him. We have been trying to ascertain the source of the pistol." -said Ogun State Police PRO, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi. culled

DeleteHow do u want ur kid to see u? Psheeewwww....since all these years u never change
Why did he church keep that much money in the church sef? Must be an insider job considering the bulk of money. If it was a random operation they would have carted away with just a little cash, perhaps the ones donated that day for offering. Na wa o.
DeleteSo much money in the church? Hmmm so robbers no longer fear even God . It's a good thing he was caught. The future of Africa looks so bleak with the daily increase in crime. May God save his people.
ReplyDeleteStella they are not robbers o! Na land matter o. They are fighting over a land close to the church. A day before which was a Saturday, the pastor got some thugs to beat up the son to the other family claiming ownership of the land, his name is Dayo. when he saw Dayo trying to build a structure on the land. The next day, Sunday, Dayo along with some other boys including Shehu stormed the church in retaliation. Yes police shot him. Yes they found a police special pistol with him. Yes he was an aide to Bankole and yes he is a notorious cult boy. But no, it wasn't robbery!
DeleteIf it wasn't robbery, why did they take the money?? Confused.com

ReplyDeleteNonsense! Is he or is he not former aide to dimeji bankole? If yes, then it has to be mentioned.
DeleteMaybe they would have put ??? name there instead, I think. This is a robber that has an identity. Not a general description of 'armed robbers'. Did you see where Dimeji's name was mentioned as part of the robbery? Oh, sorry I guess you must be a relation. No vex, nne. But it means that these politicians surround themselves with thugs and crooks. That is what they are trying to pass across. Now do you understand what you are meant to do with that part of the info?

It must have been an insider that hinted the arm robbers that there will be a large sum of money at the church. I hope no life was lost.
ReplyDeleteExactly
DeleteCan you imagine. Former aide to Dimeji Bankole.Means most of the people in their employs are hooligans. Of course he will say it is the work of the devil. Who else.
ReplyDeletePoliticians always linked to bad bad tinz. It's election time. They need money to lure the poor
ReplyDeleteThe greed of man!
ReplyDeleteAnd going to a church of all places.
A place of worship irrespective of the religion should not be desecrated!
This is where am confused though, 6million cash in a church??
Even my Ibo business brothers know not to leave money under the bed or in a hole these days!
Infact their bank can even do pick ups for them...I truly suspect a planned robbery... probably involving an inside Intel or this gang has observed how they operate!
God don catch dem!
6m hain ! In a church, the robbers would certainly have gotten that info from someone inside but wait a minute a former aide of Dimeji turn robber nawa nawa
ReplyDeleteNa who know man de kill am.

ReplyDeleteHmmmm... this matter tire mathias, too many qs to be asked. 6m in d church? dimeji bankole's former aid? How did the robbers know abt d money? Who alerted d police? Etc
ReplyDelete6 Mirrion Naila carted away from a church ?? Ahhh! D church is sha rich but whatever happens to BANKing it?
ReplyDeleteBut people don't fear God o, y church of all places? Hian!
6 milion in the church, this looks like a set up to me. The robbers must have known about that money. Are they not afraid of God?
ReplyDeleteRobbers are not smiling, can u imagine they went church to steal but why will the church keep 6m there!i dnt understand why bankole's name is there as well
ReplyDeleteHow come the church has that much with them??? Don't they have a bank account to put it??? Except they know how the money go there and that's why they came to rob them.....sounds strange tho

ReplyDeleteChurches n so much money. Ok na. Bt y steal from d church 4 heaven's sake
ReplyDeleteNa wa. O!!
ReplyDeleteThis ones no even fear God.
ReplyDeletethis robbers can just be annoying ,so them no see obj house attack ,na house of God ,some rat from the church must have given out information .
ReplyDeleteThe news is fake. Here’s an eye witness account. The event happened around 8:30 – 9:00 am on Sunday. The issue has to do with land. The church tresspassed on another man’s land who sought the boy’s assistance. The event happened before the service and no money was catered away. The owner of the land ran while the boy was shot. There were gun shots but I was gripped in fears so I hid myself away from the scene. I later saw the boy with blood when he was carted away by the police.
ReplyDeleteThe whole arrest and information have some political undertone.
Retract your robbery allegation. This is character assassination. -Bayo
Bayo be careful Nigerians are bad, trueth are usually difficult to say in our fellow country.God will grudge. Continue.
DeleteBayo, can you people that are at the scene kindly call for a Press conference to clear Sheu's name from robbery please? Kindly, link with the family for more clarification. Tnk you
ReplyDeleteThis is purely ppolitics and corruption in the highest order. Can people read Bayo's comment before saying rubbish. This is the church trying to cover their arse. Why would he go and rub a church in broad day light. Where are his fellow robbers? Why was only him arrested? How are we sure a pistol was found on him. Nigeria police beware of God. We all knew that he doesn't have a good record but that doesn't mean that they have to say what is not true. This is pure evil and barbaric. Nigeria police should be sued by the family because it's unfair and this is also defamation of name.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, that our security for you. Assuming a cat known to be stealing meat, how come they now said a cat use to live under d sea. False.
DeleteIf that boy should die or anything bad should happen to him, the whole world will know how far politicians, policemen & some so-called pastors & churches in Nigeria go to destroy people's life. The pastor is a twisted human being to cohort with politicians in order for him to claim someone else's land. How can 6million naira be stolen especially from a church like that. I just spoke to someone that shed more light on what happened, this story is full of lies. Nigerian police has collected money from the pastor & also acting according to order from the above. God will punish everyone of the people involved in trying to use the boy as a scapegoat for their dirty, twisted & wicked game. If not for the fact that his father is no more alive, they wouldn't have been able to try to use him for their little game.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm thank God he was caught! No where is safe only the protection of the Almighty God will keep us on. They have left banks now is Church hmmmm
