Armed Robbers Attack Foursquare Church, Steal N6M In Abeokuta

An armed robbery gang led by Shehu Somoye, a former aide to Dimeji Bankole, raided a Foursquare gospel church in Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta and carted away N6 million cash from the church, alongside cash and other valuables from congregants.

Following a distress call during the operation,  the Ogun State Anti robbery Squad Police men surrounded the church.

In a tussle with the robbers, police bullets hit Somoye in the leg, while a Bareta pistol was recovered from him and was arrested.

"Somoye,  a former aide to Dimeji Bankole was hit by police bullets and a police pistol was recovered from him. We have been trying to ascertain the source of the pistol." -said Ogun State Police PRO, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi. culled

    2. Why did he church keep that much money in the church sef? Must be an insider job considering the bulk of money. If it was a random operation they would have carted away with just a little cash, perhaps the ones donated that day for offering. Na wa o.

  2. So much money in the church? Hmmm so robbers no longer fear even God . It's a good thing he was caught. The future of Africa looks so bleak with the daily increase in crime. May God save his people.

    1. Stella they are not robbers o! Na land matter o. They are fighting over a land close to the church. A day before which was a Saturday, the pastor got some thugs to beat up the son to the other family claiming ownership of the land, his name is Dayo. when he saw Dayo trying to build a structure on the land. The next day, Sunday, Dayo along with some other boys including Shehu stormed the church in retaliation. Yes police shot him. Yes they found a police special pistol with him. Yes he was an aide to Bankole and yes he is a notorious cult boy. But no, it wasn't robbery!

Did you see where Dimeji's name was mentioned as part of the robbery? Oh, sorry I guess you must be a relation. No vex, nne. But it means that these politicians surround themselves with thugs and crooks. That is what they are trying to pass across. Now do you understand what you are meant to do with that part of the info?

  71. The news is fake. Here’s an eye witness account. The event happened around 8:30 – 9:00 am on Sunday. The issue has to do with land. The church tresspassed on another man’s land who sought the boy’s assistance. The event happened before the service and no money was catered away. The owner of the land ran while the boy was shot. There were gun shots but I was gripped in fears so I hid myself away from the scene. I later saw the boy with blood when he was carted away by the police.

The whole arrest and information have some political undertone.

Retract your robbery allegation. This is character assassination. -Bayo

    ReplyDelete
  73. This is purely ppolitics and corruption in the highest order. Can people read Bayo's comment before saying rubbish. This is the church trying to cover their arse. Why would he go and rub a church in broad day light. Where are his fellow robbers? Why was only him arrested? How are we sure a pistol was found on him. Nigeria police beware of God. We all knew that he doesn't have a good record but that doesn't mean that they have to say what is not true. This is pure evil and barbaric. Nigeria police should be sued by the family because it's unfair and this is also defamation of name.

  74. If that boy should die or anything bad should happen to him, the whole world will know how far politicians, policemen & some so-called pastors & churches in Nigeria go to destroy people's life. The pastor is a twisted human being to cohort with politicians in order for him to claim someone else's land. How can 6million naira be stolen especially from a church like that. I just spoke to someone that shed more light on what happened, this story is full of lies. Nigerian police has collected money from the pastor & also acting according to order from the above. God will punish everyone of the people involved in trying to use the boy as a scapegoat for their dirty, twisted & wicked game. If not for the fact that his father is no more alive, they wouldn't have been able to try to use him for their little game.
